Biden's Failed Immigration Policies and the Death and Violence It Has Caused To Americans - Part 1

 We have often discussed the reality that Biden’s border policies have been an unbelievable failure. Illegal drugs are flooding into the country, violent South and Central American gangs setting up shop in  U.S. cities, and local city and state budgets are being adjusted so that illegal immigrants can be fed, sheltered, and given medical attention, stealing government services from American taxpayers.

But one particularly distressing and tragic result of Biden’s failed immigration policies is the danger that have befallen innocent Americans at the hands of violent illegal immigrants who never should have been admitted to the country. This is not to say there should be no immigration into this country.  But there has to be a rigid screening process so that violent people do not get into the country and carry out heinous, often fatal, attacks on innocent Americans.

1)Franklin Pena is a 26 year old Venezuelan illegal immigrant who was recently charged with murdering a 12 year old child, Jocelyn Nungaraay, in  Houston, Texas. Her body was found in a local creek after Pena allegedly murdered her.

His alleged accomplice, Johan Jose Martinze Rangel was also arrested and charged with murder after her body was found under a bridge with her limbs bound.  The victim was severely beaten and she died from strangulation.

Both men had been apprehended by border patrol agents but had been released into the general population. Pena had removed a monitoring ankle bracelet so that authorities could not track him once he was released.

2)Meanwhile, out in  Indiana:

• A set of illegal  immigrants were recently arrested after they allegedly kidnapped a 14 year old girl.

• They then took her to Missouri.

• The five kidnappers were in the country illegally and were from Mexico and Honduras.

• They were allegedly going to sex traffic the kidnapped girl to California.

Fortunately, an alert law enforcement officer intercepted the car that was being driven by the kidnappers and saved the girl.

3)Out in Colorado:

• A 64 year old  grandfather, Scott MIller, was recently killed in an auto crash, allegedly caused by an illegal immigrant.

• The illegal immigrant has a history of drug and alcohol related arrests.

• He has also been deported 16 times but kept sneaking back  into the country.

• The illegal  immigrant, Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza, faces charges of vehicular assault and vehicular homicide.

• Immigration agents reported that he had actually had been deported two weeks before the accident, showing how easy it is to sneak into the country.

• The illegal  immigrant was actually working for a Colorado trucking company and was driving the company’s truck even though he did not have a valid drivers license.

Another senseless death of an innocent American citizen.

4)Things have gotten so bad in Texas that the state government now operates a Ten  Most Wanted List of Illegal Immigrants in order to help track down dangerous illegal immigrants. According to governor Greg Abbott: "This new Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List forms a key part of our strategy to uphold law and order in the state, amidst what we see as a crisis at our border.”

Those on the list have  committed crimes including murder, sexual assault, and  burglary.

5)In South Carolina:

• An illegal immigrant from Mexico recently caused a fatal auto collision that cost the life of an American citizen on a motorcycle.

• The illegal immigrant hit the motorcyclist and then pinned the motorcyclist against a school bus.

• He did not have a valid driver's license.

Another state, another American death.

6)But unfortunately it is quite possible that American deaths due to Biden’s failed immigration policies could get much higher very quickly:

• The Department of Homeland Security does not know the location of about 50 illegal immigrants who are officially “subjects of concern,“ i.e. they have high potential to be terrorists.

• They are part of more than 400 potential terrorists that have entered the country via an ISIS affiliated smuggling network according to NBC News.

• More than 150 potential ISIS terrorists have been arrested, some have been deported, and the locations of 200 are known.

• But that still leaves 50 or so roaming the country in parts unknown.

• These folks are likely from countries like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Russia.

• According to former FBI counterterrorism section chief Chirstopher O’Leary: "The fact that the whereabouts were unknown is clearly alarming. I believe the [U.S.] is scrambling to locate these individuals, and using the immigration charges is not uncommon." 

• Different news reports said that 8 Tajik natives, with suspected ties to ISIS,  were recently arrested in  Philadelphia and that over 1,500 Tajiks are known to have entered the country during the Biden years.

Very scary. ISIS is one of the most dangerous and cut throat terrorist groups in the world and dozens of their members may be loose in the country. It is one thing to be killed by an illegal immigrant driving without a license. It is a much graver concern knowing what these types of people are capable of and who have been able to walk into the country because of failed immigration policies.

Innocent Americans, just going about their lives, have been killed at the hands of illegal immigrants, lives that would still be with us if Biden’s immigration plans had not failed so miserably. And things are not  likely to get any better, or safer, given the many, many millions of illegal  immigrants that have come into the country,  many of whom  are not good people.

Last note: this is by far NOT a comprehensive list of Americans who have had their lives taken or violently changed by Biden’s failed immigration policies. More to come in  subsequent posts.

August, 2018, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: San Francisco Politicians Go Off The Deep End While Washington Pays Al Qaeda Terrorists

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We have previously discussed the disgusting situation on the streets of San Francisco. With an exploding homeless population, the streets are now lined with human feces, urination, and drug user spent needles. The city has actually set up a dedicated helpline for citizens to report piles of human feces on the streets, a condition acknowledged by the incoming mayor.

Daniel Greenfield, writing for the Freedom Outpost website on August 2, 2018, summed up, somewhat comically and ironically, the other horrible conditions, political idiocy, and over regulation that now permeates this socialist “mecca” on the west coast:

• The title of his article is “San Francisco Bans Everything” which is not too far from the truth.
• He asserts and provides links that show that the city government has banned straws, fur coats, bottled water, vaping liquids, upholstered furniture, plastic bags, pet stores, electric scooters coffee cups, pacing peanuts, tropical fish, and McDonald’s Happy Meal.
• However, they have made drug use/abuse, public urination and defecation, and shoplifting legal.
• Greenfield hilariously and correctly now calls the city “North Korea with a tech industry and some leftover Victorian architecture (which it’s banning tour buses from visiting) has reacted to the collapse of living conditions and fleeing tourists by banning everything.”
• The public defecation is probably the most disgusting problem facing the city with the article discussing examples of how 20 pounds of human waste was deposited on a city street and how constant human urine had corroded a pole so much that the  metal weakened and fell on a car, almost killing the driver.
• Official complaints about human waste in the city have gone from 5,685 in 2011 to 18,211 in 2016, a threefold increase in just five years. 
• But although public defecation and urinating is not illegal, using or serving a straw is illegal with both the city and the state passing anti-straw laws with the state version carrying a potential six month jail sentence.
• Which raises the satirical question: will Mexican drug cartels now starting smuggling illegal straws across the border for thirst addicted Americans?
• Straws were banned, according to the city ordinance, because they “may threaten public health” but public defecation and urination must not be a health issue in the city.
• The city also banned fur coats since, according to a sponsor of that ban, Katy Tang, "fur farming contributes to water and air pollution" because each mink produces "44 pounds of feces in the mink’s lifetime."
• But since a human being like Ms. Tang generates about 342 pound of feces in a year, about 8 times more than a mink produces in its lifetime, maybe it is the city council members like herself that should be banned.
• The city spends over $800,000 a day, every day, on its homeless population but city council members worry about and spend time on straws, fur coats, and a myriad of other stupid, useless efforts.
• The city also decided that employers could no longer provide on site dining/cafeteria services for their employees since such employee perks cause local restaurants to lose business.
• This forces taxpaying workers to leave their place of business and walk through the feces and drug needle lined streets to find a place to eat, making sure they do not drink bottled water, wear a mink coat, or vape on the way to finding a meal.

This is what happens when politicians think too much, have too much power, over regulate citizens lives, and are really incapable of resolving any type of problem. They waste time inconveniencing and hassling their voters and fellow citizens while the major problems never get resolved.

How bad have things gotten in the city of San Francisco? A major medical organization, based in Chicago, cancelled its future conventions in the city after a long string of years holding their convention there. This raises the the obvious question that the article poses: when the city of Chicago thinks your city is a hellhole, how bad and how low have you sunk?

2) Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist group, Al Qaeda, were responsible for not only the worst terrorist attack ever inside America but untold other terrorist attacks and deaths around the world. They are truly the worst and deadliest group of terrorists ever assembled.

Fortunately, Bin Laden was killed by a secret raid by Seal Team Six under the Obama administration, giving that Presidency one of its very few success stories, and the remainder of Al Qaeda has been greatly diminished over time. 

But before all of this good news happened, apparently the Obama administration gave out hundreds of thousands of American tax dollars to an Al Qaeda terrorist affiliate, a fact verified by the State Department:

• The Obama administration approved a $200,000 grant to an organization in the country of Sudan that had strong ties to Al Qaeda.
• In fact, the group had previously and was currently designated as a terrorist financing organization by the Federal government years previously (2004) and yet, Obama still gave them $200,000.
• The $200,000 was given to the Islamic Relief Agency in 2014, as reported by Sam Westrop of the Middle East even though the group was already on the terror watch list, according to Mr. Westrop: “More stunningly, government officials specifically authorized the release of at least $115,000 of this grant even after learning that it was a designated terror organization.”
• USAID, the Federal government organization responsible for dispensing the taxpayer wealth to the terror organization confirmed Mr. Westrop’s reporting.
• Yet 10 years after the group was designated as a terror group, in March, 2014 USAID gave it $200,000 for so-called humanitarian efforts.
• In November, 2014, USAID finally realized it’s mistake and ordered all contacts and funding be stopped with the group.
• But in May, 2015 the Treasury gave the group $115,000 despite it being on the terrorist list for now eleven years and six months after USAID realized the error or its ways.
• According to Mr. Westrop: “Obama-administration officials knowingly approved the transfer of taxpayer dollars to an al-Qaeda affiliate, and not an obscure one but an enormous international network that was often in the headlines.” 

What a frigging mess. A terror group kills almost 3,000 Americans in one morning. Yet somehow two different organizations within the Federal government pay an affiliate of the terror group, one that the same Federal government designated as a terror group years before, $200,000 that was used for who knows what kind of terror and criminal enterprises. You cannot make this insanity up.

Our Political Leaders Today: Corrupt, Convicted, Inept, Ignorant, and Elitist

We have often discussed the reality that today’s American politicians do and say the darndest things. In fact, if you enter “darndest things” in the search box above, you will get a list of the dozens and dozens of times that today’s politicians embarrassed themselves, us, and the country as a whole.

Today, we will update some of their hijinx, quotes, and law breaking with a wide range of ways that the political class continues to fail us every day of every year. 

1) Kelly Cohen, writing on June 21, 2016 for the Washington Examiner, starts us off today with the recent news that Congressman Chaka Fattah was found guilty in his recent corruption trial. Details of his crimes include the following:

• He was found guilty of ALL of the Federal corruption charges that were brought forth on him.
• These charges included bribery, racketeering, conspiracy, money laundering and bank fraud stemming from efforts to repay an illegal $1 million campaign loan.
• Three of his political cronies, including his once chief of staff, were also convicted under the racketeering RICO Act.
• Two political consultants of the Congressman previously pled guilty to the charges.
• The Federal prosecutors argued that Fattah used Federal grant money and charitable donations to pay back the illegal campaign loan.
• Fattah once sat on the powerful House of Representatives Appropriations Committee.

This guy was earning over $174,000 a year, more than three times what the average American household earns, and he still could not keep his nose clean. So now, rather than continuing to get wealthy on the taxpayers’ back, he will now be in jail on the same taxpayers back. This is the quality of many people currently serving in the political class. At least this one got caught.

P.S.: Fattah’s son, Chaka “Chip” Fattah, was found guilty in 2015 of 22 counts of defrauding a school district and is now serving five years in prison.

2) But it is not only politicians that go to jail for getting greedy. According to Kosar, writing for the Political Insider website, the former head of the Veterans Administration in the Cleveland area was found guilty recently and will be going off to prison also:

• William Montague once was the head of the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
• He was recently sentenced after pleading guilty two years ago to 64 corruption related accusations.
• Specifically, he pled guilty to defrauding the VA via bribery and kickback arrangements where he got thousands of kickback dollars from contractors.
• Apparently, he handed over insider information to outside contractors that helped them win large VA contracts for which they gave him thousands of dollars.
• He was part of an FBI investigation that involved over 60 government employees and executives and outside contractors, all of whom were involved in a so-called “pay-to-play” setup.

Maybe he and former Congressman Fattah can share a cell somewhere in a Federal prison.

3) But it is not just Federal employees and politicians that are corrupt, criminal, and greedy. According to Brent Scher, writing for the Washington Free Beacon on June 20, 2016, New York City and its mayor, Bill de Blasio, have found themselves deep into a government corruption investigation:

• The New York Post recently reported that Federal authorities arrested a bunch of New York City folks linked to de Blasio’s fund raising operations when he successfully ran for mayor of New York City.
• The arrests included four, high ranking NYPD police officers and a Jeremey Reichberg, a friend and political operative of de Blasio, who allegedly gave high ranking police officers expensive, lavish gifts.
• These gifts were allegedly in return for having police serve on security details and police escorts.
• Jona Rechnitz, a New York businessman who also allegedly gave gifts to high ranking NYPD officials, has already pleaded guilty to corruption charges and is cooperating with the investigators.
• Federal authorities are still “probing into the mayor’s fundraising practices and some of his closest confidantes in an effort to find out if favors, contracts, or positions were offered for campaign donations,” according to the New York Post report.

As you can see, political corruption in this country extends from local to national corruption.

4) But those in the political class also do and say just plain stupid stuff that does not cross the line of being illegal. Take the recent screw up and follow up quote form Loretta Lynch and the Justice Department and FBI. As everyone knows, a Florida resident recently invaded and committed the heinous terrorist act of shooting up an Orlando nightclub, killing and wounding dozens of innocent Americans.

News reports indicated that his wife was heavily involved since she may have helped him case out other targets and pleaded with him not to do the attack even though she never reported the planned attack to authorities. Thus, she is a pretty important person in the investigation, either as a possible co-conspirator or as a material witness. You would have hoped that the FBI and Federal government would have kept her in custody or at least under surveillance given how close she was to the whole terrorist attack.

But as with most aspects of dealing with the political class and the government functions they oversee, hope is usually dashed by ineptness. When asked where the wife of the terrorist shooter was, Ms. Lynch had this wonderful comment: “Right now I do not know exactly the answer to that, I believe she was going to travel but I do not know exactly her location now.” Unbelievable. 

The worst mass shooting in the history of the country and the most critical witness to the whole planning of the operation has been lost by the Federal government. For all we know, she has snuck out of the country already, especially if this terrorist operation was orchestrated from afar and was not a lone wolf attack. All the chief law enforcement officer in the entire country can basically say is, “we lost her.” Certainly a memorable quote for Ms. Lynch’s legacy but not a good one.

5) In any argument in any area of life, one would hope that both sides of the argument are dealing with basic truths and knowledge. Opinions can certainly differ but to have a mature and constructive conversation and follow up action plan, both sides should agree on basic realities of life. For example, if the two sides in an argument cannot agree that two plus two is four, any discussion of higher level math and statistics is futile.

Which brings us to a recent inane quote from President Obama. Obviously, Obama would like to shred the Second Amendment if he could. Since the Constitution prevents him from doing that outright, he and other liberals nibble around the edges of the Second Amendment, trying to restrict gun possession and usage as much as possible. That is obviously their right to do but they should at least know the two plus two of guns. Otherwise, they show their ignorance of the subject and ignorance never leads to constructive debate and arguments.

Consider a recent Obama gun control quote where he undermines his entire credibility to have an intelligent debate on gun control Referring to the recent terrorist shooter at the Orlando nightclub, Obama recently said that the shooter had “a Glock, which had a lot of clips in it.” Why is this Obama’s two plus two equals three moment? Consider:

• A Glock does not use clips, it uses magazines.
• Every handgun in the world can only hold on magazine at a time.
• Thus, the Orlando shooter’s gun could not possibly hold multiple clips at the same time.

You know that boxy rectangular thingy that holds cartridges and slides into the bottom of your semi-auto pistol? It’s not a clip — no matter how often the term is misused. It’s a magazine.

A magazine holds shells under spring pressure in preparation for feeding into the firearm’s chamber. Examples include box, tubular, drum and rotary magazines. Some are fixed to the firearm while others are removable.

A cartridge “clip” has no spring and does not feed shells directly into the chamber. Rather, clips hold cartridges in the correct sequence for “charging” a specific firearm’s magazine. Stripper clips allow rounds to be “stripped” into the magazine. Other types are fed along with the shells into the magazine — the M1 Garand famously operates in this fashion. Once all rounds have been fired, the clip is ejected or otherwise released from the firearm.

In essence, clips feed magazines. Magazines feed firearms.

Difficult to have an intelligent conversation about gun control with anyone, including the President, when that person is so ignorant of what they are arguing about.

6) Last inane quote for today comes from a sitting U.S. Congressman. Charles Rangel has been in Congress for a long time. We have discussed some of his inane and stupid quotes many times in this blog. But his latest one is a real doozy. 

When recently asked if his constituents should be able to legally obtain a gun more easily in New York City which has notoriously difficult processes for law abiding citizens to get a legal firearm, Rangel said: “I’m glad to you say that very few people can get it. We don’t need that many guns … Overall if it’s difficult to get a concealed weapon permit, I’m glad to hear that.”

When the reporter pointed out to Rangel that his personal safety as a Congressman was guaranteed by the armed security and police that protect him and his peers, he flippantly replied: “Well, that’s a little different. I think we deserve, I think we need to be protected down here.” So he “deserves” to be protected, despite the crappy job that he and his Congressional peers do, but he is glad to hear that regular Americans have a hard time get their own protection. Nothing says elitism like my life is more important than yours.

There you have it, a quick snapshot of the political class today: corrupt, convicted, inept, ignorant, and elitist. That is who is leading the country today. Feeling confident about the future?

May, 2016, Part 7, Political Class Insanity: Secret Service Down In The Dumps, Obama Dumpoing Terroriosts Into The Real World, Harry Reid Takes a Dump On Twitter, and More

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc. In fact, last month we set a record, needing ten full posts to cover it all.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:

1) Over my lifetime, the U.S. Secret Service as almost always been q highly respected, effective organization within the Federal government. But during the Obama administration, its reputation has taken a severe hit. A drive by shooter shot out windows in the White House, there have been any number of White House fence jumpers with one of them actually getting deep inside the White House before being apprehended, there was the partying with drug cartel hookers in Columbia, and other stories of ineptness.

And now, according to two Congressmen, the Secret Service is losing agents much quicker than they can replace them, an unheard of situation given the historically levels of esteem the organization had been held too. This may force the Secret Service to pull people from other parts of the Federal government to address this vital shortfall. In a letter written by two Congressmen on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, the two Congressman described the once elite organization as being in crisis.

The organization has 47 fewer full time employees than it did just five months ago with an annual attrition rate of 7% for agents. The Inspector General for Homeland Security concurred with the Congressmen’s views stating that the agency is “hemorrhaging” employees because of the “severely understaffed” force, leading to “inadequate training, fatigue, low morale, and attrition,” the inspector wrote.

Why go over this crisis? Because if the U.S. Secret Service cannot do its job adequately, given its rich history of being a top notch, top performing entity within the Federal government, you can imagine how poorly other Federal government organizations screw up their jobs. If you cannot get good employees for the Secret Service, I am pretty sure you are not getting good employees for those organizations that have a long history of screw ups, e.g. the IRS, the Veterans Administration, etc.

2) But apparently it is not only the American political class that is held in such low esteem by ordinary Americans. According to a recent article on the website, www.investors.com, a recent opinion opinion poll by the Media Insight Project found that only 6% of Americans saying they have a “lot of confidence” in the press to tell them the truth.

But this does not mean that Americans do not recognize what good journalism looks like and what it can do. The poll found that almost 90% of Americans consider it extremely important or very important that journalists get their facts right. Unfortunately, rather than do journalism, most media outlets today do public relations work for their favorite politicians, which is almost always a Democrat. Remember how Woodward and Bernstein at the Washington Post and Seymour Hersh at the New York Times were real journalists who did real journalism, leading to the downfall of a corrupt Richard Nixon?

The Obama administration has had so many comparable scandals, e.g. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Iran nuclear deal lies, IRS harassment and denial of First Amendment rights of conservative groups, trillion dollar annual deficits, a failed $800 billion economic stimulus program, Syria, illegal and un-Constitutional war in Libya, the deletion of 30,000 emails by his Secretary of State, etc. And yet, not a single journalist or media type took up the cause for their profession like Woodward, Bernstein and Hersh did in the 1970s.

And that is why Americans view of the journalism industry and profession today is so anemic, comparable to the anemic ratings of the American political class. Which should not be a surprise, I guess, since the two of them have quietly melded into a single false entity of truth and integrity.

3) One of Obama’s bigger lies was his pledge to shut down the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay. The inference was that he would put the inmates there through a legal due process and free those found innocent and keep those found guilty in custody in order to protect not only our fighting forces but also ordinary Americans here at home.

But as with most Obama pledges, this was has proven also to be false. Rather than put the captives through a fair and legal due process, he has been busy emptying the place based just on his whims. And as a result, any number of the terrorists he has released have ended up back in the terrorism fight on the side that wants to destroy America.

The latest example of his screw ups in this area was reported by the US Chronicle website on February 29, 2016. A Gitmo released terrorist has ended up in an ISIS terror cell in Spain. Citing an Associated Press report, this individual was described as “a leader who was trained in handling weapons, explosives, and in military tactics.” And despite this knowledge and intelligence, Obama released him from prison. 

The unnamed terrorist was arrested while recruiting people to the ISIS cause in Spain and who was in the process of obtaining weapons and explosives to carry out a terrorist attack on Spanish soil. The article points out other examples where Obama has released prisoners who were trained in weapons, explosives, bomb making, leadership roles, and recruiting, all of whom have returned to various terrorist organizations around the world. And all of them were released without a thorough vetting and due process of law.

Obviously, Obama is trying to embellish his legacy by eventually claiming that he closed Gitmo. Imagine how horrible that legacy would have been if that ISIS Spanish cell had actually gone on and killed dozens or hundreds of Spanish citizens in the name of the Obama legacy, insanity and ego to the nth degree.

4) Frequent readers of this blog know that we have found very few functions that American politicians and the government that they operate, local, state and Federal, do well, efficiently, or effectively. The politicians over promise the benefits of a project which usually under achieves, usually severely going over estimated and promised costs, and put schedules together that are rarely met. As a result, taxpayer wealth is wasted on shoddily developed government projects that may or may not ever get finished. Think the Boston “Big Dig” effort that missed its budget by about 8 fold, missed its schedule by years, and its shoddy construction allowed a falling piece of concrete to kill a passing driver.

Now consider the latest insanity, also in the transportation arena, out of Minnesota, as reported by Leah Jessen on the Heritage Foundation website:

• A Minnesota commuter rail line called the Northstar opened up for service in 2009.
• It covers a 40 mile stretch of land that runs from downtown Minneapolis to Big Lake.
• It cost American and local taxpayers $320 million to build since the Washington political class gladly gave the rail line over $161 million of American taxpayer money.
• In fiscal year 2014, the rail line took in passenger fares worth $2.3 million….but had operating expenses and costs of $15.5 million, meaning that the rail line revenue pitifully covered only about 15% of its expenses and costs. 
• This comparable to its first full of operation in 2009 when it collected $2.5 million in fares but had expenses and costs of $16 million, again covering only about 15% of its costs and expenses, establishing a baseline of under performance that continued through 2014.
• This disaster is nicely summed up by Annette Meeks of the Freedom Foundation of Minnesota: “When you’re subsidizing about 80 percent of every trip on the line, it’s a really big fiscal disaster.”
• Put another way that is just as insane, for EVERY passenger that rides the rail line, local taxpayers are putting up $22 for every rider.
• The rail line was originally rejected because it could not promise that there would be adequate ridership to justify Federal government taxpayer subsidies so the rail line was shortened in order to meet that criteria. Remember what we said above about underachieving when it comes to government programs?
• Advocates of the line originally promised that daily ridership would be 3,400 riders but actual ridership has come nowhere near that many, another under achievement.
• Ridership increased just .2% in 2015 vs. 2014 so it does not look like ridership still has a way to ramp up, it is virtually stagnant at levels that cannot make the line profitable.
• Thus, despite warnings long ago that this would be a financial disaster, the local politicians, with help from the Washington political class, went ahead anyway and now local taxpayers, most of whom will never ride the rail, are putting out $22 every time somebody does use the rail line.
• But despite all of the financial downside results, there are some nut cases that want to make the rail line bigger and longer, extending it 30 miles to St. Cloud, Minnesota: “We feel we deserve the option to not own a car,” Richard Gordon, a St. Cloud State University student, told The St. Cloud Times. “I’ve never owned a car and I don’t plan to, so I need this train.”
• Which is fine Mr. Gordon, as long as you pay the additional $22 every time you take the train, I think the rest of us taxpayers would have no problem with you never owning a car. But by the way, Mr. Gordon, you do not deserve the option to not own a car, get over it. 

Let the cost causer be the cost payer and everyone would be better off financially...except for Mr. Gordon who thinks he deserves something that someone else will have to pay for, the kind of voter that the American political class loves to pander to. Another insanely stupid political class adventure in wasting taxpayer money.

5) Let’s finish today’s insanity with a tweet from former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Remember, Senator Reid was one of the most powerful people in the country before the Republicans took over the Senate in the last election. But before that he had provided this blog with a tremendous amount of material, from inane quotes to crony capitalism to stupid programs and quotes about those programs.

See if you can figure out what point he was trying to get across with the following tweet he sent out from his Twitter account:

Maybe Republicans should ask the Zika-carrying mosquitoes not to breed this summer since it’s the last year of a two-term Presidency.

Huh? Maybe is is well past time for the Senator to move up his retirement date and step aside now rather than at the end of his term next January if this is the most cogent tweet he can put together. What the hell was his staff thinking allowing him to put this garbage out in the Twitter world? 

That will do it for today's insanity: A Senator who may have lost some coherence, another government project boondoggle that under performs but goes way over cost, Obama releasing dangerous terrorists back out into the real world in a vain attempt to enhance a very thin legacy, Americans’ view of journalism and the media nosedives, and the Secret Service is no longer the elite cadre of special agents that it once was, a sign that the entire Federal bureaucracy is in a shambles. More insanity tomorrow.
