September, 2018, Part 7, Political Class Insanity: Lying and Corruption In Puerto Rico And Obama's Delusions

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We have often raised the question is do politicians lie because they actually believe their lies or do they lie because they think that we are too stupid to not know the truth. In either case, they are still liars relative to reality and history.

In our opinion, Obama was one of the greatest lying American politicians of all time. He was so good at lying that we once devoted an entire post to his multitude of lies:

Although he is no longer President, he recently made a public appearance to give a speech and showed that he had not lost the ability to tell a lie, despite the settled reality. During a speech he made the statement that Benghazi was a “conspiracy theory.” Really? A conspiracy theory? Let’s look at the facts:

Four brave Americans died during the attack on American assets in Benghazi.
Without the heroism of two former Navy Seals, upwards of two dozen Americans would have died from this terrorist attack.
But in Obama’s eyes, Benghazi was the result of “the politics of resentment and paranoia” and while Obama failed to rescue these Americans in a timely manner, it is the Republican Party where there are “wild conspiracy theories – like those surrounding Benghazi.”

Benghazi was not a wild conspiracy theory: it was a blatant terrorist attack on an American consulate that resulted in the unnecessary death of four Americans. The Obama administration then lied to the country and the world when Susan Rice spread the false rumor that some obscure video caused the attack and when Obama went in front of the world at the UN and repeated the same lie. Lied while in office, still lying out of office.

2) Lying, corrupt politicians are not restricted to Washington D.C., the gene of political corruption may also extend offshore to Puerto Rico:

A Puerto Rican mayor and two former government employees were recently arrested on public corruption charges.
Their charges include misallocating $8 million in Federal and local government funds.
The suspects are the mayor of the town of Sabana Grande and the former directors of finance for the northern town of Toa Baja.
The arrested mayor, Miguel Ortiz, is accused of defrauding the Federal government of nearly $3 million in a scheme that began in 2013 and ended in 2016.
Ortiz allegedly stole taxpayer money to finance local projects at costs that were much higher than were justified, causing contracted companies to attain higher than necessary profits which allegedly resulted in $33,000 in cash finding its way back to Ortiz.

Such a shame that the island and its residents are still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria in 2017 and these folks are possibly finding ways to enrich themselves with government funds that could certainly be better used for hurricane recovery.

3) Let’s stay in Puerto Rico and discuss the latest scandal of corrupt and ineffective politicians. After Hurricane Maria hit, the Democratic mayor of San Juan lambasted Trump for slow support in the recovery efforts. Her tantrum might have been a little more believable if she was not filmed during her tirade standing in front of mounds and mounds of relief supplies that her government was not moving out to the damaged areas of the island.

And recently she continued her tirade but again, her tantrum seemed a lot less believable. Why? According to news reports:

Millions of water bottles with clean drinking water were recently found rotting out in the open, water that was intended to help the island residents recover from the hurricane.
The 12 million water bottles, paid for by American taxpayers, were found rotting on an airport runway in Puerto Rico.
Thus, the recovery supplies got to the island but local politicians like San Juan mayor, Carmen Yulin Cruz, was so busy trying to make political points that the water never got to those that desperately needed it.
The 12 million bottles were piled onto over 19,000 pallets at the airport.
A year after the hurricane, much of the unused water supplies are now useless.

And yet rather than work using this taxpayer gift, the San Juan mayor continues to spend her time spouting off about Trump. Insanity.

September,2018, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: Ocasio-Cortez' Faux Socialism, Kamala Harris' Lie, and Illegal Immigrants Voting In North Carolina

Let’s get started:

1) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a Democratic candidate for Congress in a NYC Congressional district. She has been a gaffe and idiocy machine of quotes since becoming a candidate. Rather than review all of her stupid quotes and positions, just type in her name in the search box above to get a listing of past blog posts that went over her insanity.

But it is not just her quotes that make her look foolish. She is a Democrat in name but really is a socialist that wants to impose freedom restricting socialist tenets on the country. But as what happens in all socialistic countries around the world, those ruling those countries always seem to make out better than the oppressed people they rule over. Ocasio-Cortez was recently at a photo-op with a group of construction workers. Nothing special there, all politicians look for good photo ops.

But in this case, Ocasio-Cortez’s reputation of being a supporter of the poor and less fortunate took a big hit. She showed up at the photo-op dressed in a designer set of clothes worth about $3,500:

One outfit worth $3,500, how many other high end expensive clothes does this “socialist” have at home? If one of her constituents was earning $15 an hour, the minimum wage that she is pushing, then her jacket alone is worth more than three weeks of wages. At less than $15 an hour, then we are probably looking at a month’s worth of wages just for the jacket.

People were not happy:

A Reddit user said: “This so pisses me off. Bugs the shit out of me that she wants to raise taxes, pretending to champion the poor….in a $3k outfit.”
Another Reddit user: “I’ve never met a socialist who had the faintest idea of redistributing a penny of their own money. They’re all about taking all the time.”
It continued: “As a barmaid she took all $500 of the tips after a holiday night at the bar, stiffing the waitresses with only $50. She is only a socialist if she can take as much as she wants and leave the scraps for everyone else.”

Tough to claim you are a supporter of the poor, working class folks when you are parading away in a $3,500 designer outfit. But that is what socialists do, the leaders take what the want and “leave the scraps for everyone else.”

2) In our previous political class insanity post we discussed how blatantly politicians lie. We documented the many lies and/or exaggerations of Ocasio-Cortez and Dianne Feinstein. But rather than let them outdo her, Senator Kamala Harris at the recent Senate hearings on the Kavanaugh nomination for the Supreme Court gave lying her best shot:

Harris accused Kavanaugh of evading answering her question on whether or not he had spoken with Trump’s law firm about the Mueller investigation.
Kavanaugh replied that he had no idea what she was talking about.
He said that he did know every lawyer at the law firm, Kasowitz Benson Torres, a large law firm of 300 lawyers.
This set Harris off who then ranted and raved for 10 minutes.
But ranting and raving cannot compete with facts and realities, neither of which Harris had, her behavior was all lies and theatrics.
Plus, Kasowitz came out and officially stated that Kavanaugh had never talked with someone at the firm about Mueller.

Another day, another lie, really gets tiring after a while.

3) It is one thing when U.S. citizens try to corrupt the voting processes in this country. It is quite another when illegal immigrants try to corrupt our voting processes:

A North Carolina Federal grand jury recently indicted 19 illegal immigrants with voting violations.
Some were charged with falsely claiming to be U.S. citizens.
They each face up to six years in prison and $350,000 in fines if convicted.
But some face worse consequences: Mexican Diana Patricia Franco-Rodriguez, was charged with fraud, voting by a non-citizen, and misuse of visas, permits and other official documents and faces up to 26 years in prison.
This follows the conviction of another North Carolina illegal immigrant who illegallyl voted in both the 2012 and 2016.

So, please, do not try to tell me that there is no serious corruption in our voting processes. Go back to previous posts we had done in 2013 that showed back then we already had a voting fraud issue:

When citizens in a democracy lose faith in the integrity of the voting process, that democracy will cease to exist invery short order.

September, 2018, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Idiotic Statements, Lies, and Threats From Politicians Across the Country

Let’s get started:

But she is not done, she is becoming the Nancy Pelosi quote machine that makes one wonder: is she really that out of touch with reality:

Ocasio-Cortez recently proclaimed that, “I got elected.” No, not really. You won your party’s primary nomination to be a candidate but the election is not until November in case your staff has not told you. And she may not get elected then either since the incumbent Democrat she upset in the primaries, Joe Crowley, is running as an independent candidate and currently leads her in some opinion polls.
Makes you wonder how someone who wants to be in Congress does not understand how the election process works.
She recently claimed that, “ICE is sexually assaulting women,” a statement that infers that everyone working for ICE is assaulting women, a highly unlikely situation.
But even worse, she could not provide any proof that ANYONE in ICE was sexually assaulting women, inciting hate and misinformation to the worst degree possible.
As any reader of this blog knows, the reality of manmade global warming is a myth, we have provided hundreds of statistics, facts, research, and scientists that prove that manmade global warming is a myth but that did not stop her from claiming that “Americans are dying from global warming.”
As we have shown any number of times that any actual global warming that occurred naturally has resulted in milder storms, fewer wildfires, higher crop yields, etc., factors that have all made humanity’s plight easier to handle.

The gaffe mouth that keeps on giving. Unfortunately, this gaffe generator might actually end up in Congress where her lack of facts, knowledge, and sanity will allow her to vote on legislation that affects all of us.

2) Speaking of lying, let’s move on to the Senate hearings on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. If you have been following the hearings you know that a handful of Democratic Senators have been absolute horse’s rear ends in their hysterics and childish posturing. According to the Conservative Daily Post, California Senator Dianne Feinstein was leading that caravan of lies:

During the hearings, Feinstein related in a past job she had experiences sentencing women to jail for getting an abortion in California at a time when abortion was illegal in that state.
According to Feinstein’s words she as an appointee on the governor’s “term setting and paroling authority” for women who had been convicted of felonies.
She said that she sentenced women who had committed abortions with state prison time or approving them for parole.
Apparently she made the same claim during the hearings to approve Jeff Sessions for attorney general: “she said that during the 1960s, she “sentenced women in California” after they were convicted of felony abortion. She even claimed that she sentenced them to a maximum of ten years.”

The problem with all of this posturing is that Feinstein has never been a lawyer or a judge. Thus, she never “sentenced” anyone to prison for having an abortion. She never even attained a law degree. She only sat on a parole board to determine if someone was eligible for parole.

The lies of Feinstein get even worse if Clarke D. Forsythe, the senior legal counsel for Americans United For Life, is to be believed. According to the article, he claims that no one was EVER prosecuted in California for having an abortion prior to it being made legal. So, she never sentenced anyone for having an abortion since no one was ever prosecuted for having an abortion. Unbelievable falsehoods.

3) The immigration enforcement people at ICE are charged with carrying out the immigration laws of the land as legislated by Congress. Apparently, though, that simple process is not well understood by a member of Congress who has set a very dangerous precedent via his latest idiotic and vindictive words:

Unbelievably, Congressman Ruben Gallego recently threatened ICE agents for doing their jobs, as mandated by Congress.
Specifically, he stated that those that actually do their job for ICE, deporting illegal immigrants, should fear for their safety, that they would “not be safe” if somehow Democrats took over the government.
He implied that these brave immigration enforcement agents could not use the excuse that they were doing their jobs if Democrats in Congress decided to come after them, again, for doing their job.
His exact words were: “If you are a US government official and you are deporting Americans be warned. When the worm turns you will not be safe because you were just following orders. You do not have to take part in illegal acts ordered by this President's administration.”

How far down the rabbit hole of insanity have we fallen when a sitting member of Congress threatens a government employee for doing the job that Congress authorized? Trump has not authorized illegal acts, he is executing the laws of the land, deporting illegal immigrants for violating Congressionally mandated laws.

Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera nailed it when he rebutted rebuked Gallego, calling his behavior “reckless and irresponsible: “Now we’re telling cops that if you enforce the law you’re going to be in trouble sometime down the road when the worm turns? I just think that that is a reckless and irresponsible statement. I back the ICE officers. I detest roundup and removal of average working undocumented immigrants. I think it’s absolutely unnecessary … but you don’t threaten the cops. You don’t threaten the thin blue line. That what separates civilization from anarchy.”

That will do it for today’s insanity: a confused Congressman telling government officials not to enforce existing laws that Congress passed, a California Senator with an over inflated opinion of her accomplishments or who is an outright liar, and the idiocy of Ocasio-Cortez’s statements keep oncoming, More insanity to follow.

September, 2018, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: The Hypocrisy of Democrats and the The Clinton Crime Syndicate and Uranium One Update

Let’s get started:

1) We have previously talked about what happens when local and state governments raise the minimum hourly wage too quickly. Restaurants close because owners cannot pay the new, higher wage levels, employees lose benefits as business owners look to save money in other ways to pay the higher wages, and employees lose jobs, i.e. the good news is that your job is getting higher wages but the bad news is that you no longer have a job. In no instance did employees enjoy higher wages, increased benefits, or more job openings as a result of politicians ramming through increases in the minimum wage.

In our previous political class insanity post we talked about the insanity, untrue, and inane reasoning of Congressional candidate, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Today, we continue to debunk her ideas and nonsense as it relates to a business she used to work for:

Ocasio-Cortez wants to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour as most socialists want to do.
She recently visited an old employer of hers, The Coffee Shop in Union Square New York.
Unfortunately, after a 28 year successful business, the owners of the business decided they had to fold down the business because of high rents and the ever increasing local minimum wage increases, the exact type of policy that Ocasio-Cortez wants to impose on many other small businesses.
She visited The Coffee Shop on the last day of its existence.
Rather than think about the consequences of economic policies she supports, she light heartedly said that, "I swung by today to say hi one last time, and kid around with friends like old times."
I would bet that the now unemployed 150 shop employees did want to “kid around,” given they no longer have careers and income coming into their homes and families.

Obviously, like everything else she does not get, she does not get that overt government interference in the economy always results in bad overall economic consequences.

2) Even though Robert Mueller has been a special counsel investigating Russian ties to the Trump campaign, of which he has found none, the continuing saga of the Clintons and how cozy they were financially to the Russians continues to be virtually ignored. This is sad because it has been well established that there were real and profitable ties between the Russians and the Clintons.

Dick Morris, writing for the Western Journalism website on September 1, 2018, laid out the facts as they are today of the Clinton corruption and the Russians:

Tony Podesta, the brother of Hillary’s top campaign manager, John Podesta, was paid $180,000 by a Russian government owned company, Uranium One, for the purpose of pushing Hillary to approve the sale of 20% of the U.S. uranium mines to the Russians.
The Russians paid Bill Clinton $500,000 to give a single speech in Russia a few weeks before Hillary Clinton had to make a decision on whether to approve the sale of our uranium mines to Russian
Moscow commissioned ten spies to infiltrate Clinton’s political organization to push for the uranium mine sale.
In addition to Tony Podesta getting $180,000 to make the deal happen (did I mention that he is the brother of Hillary’s top campaign manager for her election effort?!), the Russians gave the Clinton Foundation $145 million at about the same time.
We know all of this because of a number of sources including FBI undercover informant Doug Campbell who had infiltrated Uranium One, according to Campbell’s attorney, Victoria Toensing.
And yet, John Huber of the Justice Department, who was assigned by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate the whole matter, has not only not come up with anything, he has yet to interview the FBI source inside Uranium One, Campbell.

So, in Seattle and San Francisco you can go to jail for months if you offer someone a plastic straw that was not specifically requested but you can take bribes from a foreign entity in the form of millions and millions of dollars in return for selling off a strategic asset of the American people. Insanity.

3) Democrats like to claim they are the heroes protecting the poor working class in American today. How well they do that is dubious at best.

As discussed above, Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez visited her former coffee shop employer to “kid around” on the shop’s last day of existence, driven out of business by high rent but also higher wages that Ocasio-Cortez advocated for, causing 150 people to lose their jobs. Hardly a positive and logical way to look after the working class.

And apparently Democrat hypocrite in chief, Hillary Clinton, is no better. Clinton is putting together some sort of political organization that will exist from September through mid-December and is looking for “interns” to help staff the entity. Job duties and qualifications include the following:

These internships will require a minimum of three days of work per week.
All types of backgrounds and college majors are urged to apply.
Specifically: “Interns will provide support to our staff, assisting our work on a wide range of projects. Work will include but will not be limited to: compiling press clips, monitoring social media, conducting research, drafting correspondence, and assisting with office management.”
Applicants need to have, “a high level of professionalism and discretion,” “strong research and writing skills,” “the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team,” “strong interpersonal communication skills,” “a diligent work ethic and a sense of conscientiousness,” and “enthusiasm, dedication, and a positive attitude.”

Oh, and by the way, the internships are unpaid. Thus, you are expected to work at least three days a week for 3-4 months, have the highest qualifications and character, and expect no monetary reward for your efforts. Can you say hypocrite? An established business is forced to pay higher than affordable wages to its employees and as a result has to go out of business, throwing 150 workers into the unemployment pool. Yet the political types that did this damage can get away with basically paying slave wages, i.e. nothing, for their needs. Unreal.

Hypocrisy and idiocy, sounds about right for this chapter of political class insanity. More to come.
