January, 2019, Part 2, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science: Another Math Error, CNN Blames Hamburgers For Global Warming, and More Failures Of Global Warming Forecasts

Every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of man made global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:
  • Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
  • Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
  • Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.
\To see the past posts and the multitude of evidence that we have compiled that showed it is perfectly okay to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, enter the phrase "global warming doubter” in the search box above or go through the monthly historical post listed on the right side of this page.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaim.

1) Global warming advocates like to claim that “the science is settled.” In other words, you are an idiot if you do not believe in global manmade global warming and climate change because science has already proven it to be true. Remember how for a while the advocates avowed that “97% of all scientists” claimed that humanity was the cause of global warming and climate change.

But their smugness started to fall apart when it was found that more than one major global warming university group had fudged the data to prove global warming when the underlying data did not prove their theories. Recently a similar data malfunction also arose that disproves a major recent global warming advocate study:
  • Alicia F. Luke, writing for the Eagle Rising website on November 14, 2018, discussed the reality that global warming scientists had to admit that they made a major math error in a recently published global warming study.
  • The study had concluded that the oceans were warming up much more dramatically than previously thought.
  • But a noted man made global warming skeptic, Nic Lewis, published a paper which pointed out a major math error in the research.
  • One of the researchers, Ralph Keeling of Scripps, graciously accepted the correction: “When we were confronted with his insight it became immediately clear there was an issue there. We’re grateful to have it be pointed out quickly so that we could correct it quickly”
  • Another researcher also recognized the major math error: “When we were confronted with his insight it became immediately clear there was an issue there,” study co-author Ralph Keeling told The San Diego Union-Tribune.
  • Their research originally stated that the oceans had absorbed 60% more heat than previously believed.
  • Twitter users had a field day with follow up comments: “Next time show your (math) work,” “So the science is settled but the math isn’t,” “Are these scientists involved in the Florida vote recounts?”
Another math “mistake” or just another attempt to bastardize the data to prove an unprovable myth? Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they made a major math error that invalidates their conclusions. But how did they miss a major error that someone outside of the research easily found? One would assume that their published research was peer reviewed so who were these peers and why did they miss this major error?

And global warming advocates wonder why us doubters doubt their contentions and “findings.”

2) Not only do global warming advocates embarrass themselves when they intentionally or unintentionally skew data to fit their preconceived notions, these folks continue to embarrass themselves in so many other ways. Consider what CNN recently did to prove that they are also drinking the global warming Koolaid:
  • In a recent news broadcast, CNN introduced a supposed “subject matter expert” to prove that manmade global warming was real, dangerous, and shortly would be fatal.
  • Somehow though, rather than bring a climate scientist on air to prove their point they introduced Professor Andrea Dutton from the University of Florida who is a professor of, wait for it, geology.
  • Yes, CNN somehow thought that a professor of geology would bring credibility to their stance that manmade global warming was real, unbelievable.
  • But they outdid themselves a little later when they ran a news segment that proved that eating hamburgers causes global warming.
How can we take global warming advocates seriously when they often do not take themselves seriously, whether it is saying a geology professor somehow is an expert on climate, hamburgers cause global warming, beavers cause global warming, and on and on and on.

3) Someone once said something like once your opponent starts calling you names, you have won the argument. In other words, they have run out of data,m logic, and knowledge to win their side of the argument so all they are left with is to start the name calling and insults (Anthony Watts saying: “when you resort to name calling, you've lost the argument.”)

Which according to a recent article on the Punching Bag Post website, that is exactly what former Governor Jerry Brown of California, a staunch believer in manmade global warming, called anyone who doubted this position: “Just recently, California’s outgoing Governor Jerry Brown has compared those who dare to hold opinions different from left-wing orthodoxy as modern-day Nazis. In other words, if you even express uncertainty about the claims of the global warming activists, you are the same as people who were hell-bent to build the 1000-year Reich on a genocidal campaign against the declared enemies of a malignant theoretical Arian state – Jews, Catholics, Africans and the disabled. You are the same as a regime that murdered millions of people. This demonizing of the perceived apostates was seen when New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared that anyone who does not believe in the left’s global warming script is unwelcomed in his state.”

Thus, according to Anthony Watts, Brown and Cuomo and Gore and the rest of them have lost the argument. They lost the argument because their forecasts and data and logic has not stood the test of time, as a recent Heritage Foundation article pointed out:
  • Back in 1970, almost fifty years ago, Harvard biologist George Wald predicted that: “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” Fifty years later, civilization is still around.
  • In 1977, 42 years ago, Obama’s future “energy czar” John Holdren co-wrote a book with Paul R.Ehrlich that forecasted by 2020, next year, there would the deaths of one billion humans from starvation, which is unlikely to happen next year.
  • In 2006, Al Gore predicted that sea levels would rise 20 feet “in the near future.” The near future must be longer than 13 years since 13 years after his prediction the sea levels have risen about zero feet.
  • At a big global warming conference in 2005, 14 years ago, a conference of global warming scientists and politicians warned that humanity had as little as 10 years before it would reach “the point of no return on global warming.” In other words, we should have reached the point of no return four years ago but that point has not yet materialized.
  • That conference also grossly incorrectly predicted that humanity would be faced with “widespread agricultural failure,” “major droughts,” “increased disease,” “the death of forests,” and the “switching-off of the North Atlantic Gulf Stream,” among many other terrible calamities, none of which ever happened.
And yet even though all of these predictions have been busts, if anyone dares to question global warming advocates like Jerry Brown, they are Nazis. Makes no sense unless you keep the Watts quote in mind, calling someone a Nazi for questioning a failed theory makes that accuser the argument loser.

That will do it for this month’s global warming myth review: true non-believers are now Nazis, CNN embarrasses itself again, and more math hi jinks from global warming advocates.
