November, 2020, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Elizabeth Warren's Inane Priorities, Gavin Newsom's Inane Hypocrisy and Finally, Someone In Washington Is Worried About Freedom

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) The just plain, downright stupidity of American politicians as always boggles my mind:

• Hank Johnson, a Georgia Congressman, once during a public Congressional hearing, insisted that the island of Guam could literally tip over if too many armed forces resources were placed on the island.
• Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee astounded us with her insistence that the Constitution was over 400 years old, that South Vietnam and North Vietnam still existed with North Vietnam controlling South Vietnam, and that her Congressional district was 50 feet below sea level (it isn’t).
• New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez astounded us so many times with her ignorance with some of her better points ignorance were: not knowing the simple, basic definition of what the unemployment rate despite having a business degree background, claiming that the three branches of government were the Presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate, and not knowing the difference between a tax credit and a tax cut, (again, despite having a college degree in business) which ended up costing her Congressional a once in a lifetime economic boom when she scared off Amazon from putting an incredibly lucrative part of their business in her district. (Note: in the past two years she has probably been the most prolific member of Congress to say and believe inane stuff, put her name in the search box above for more hilarity and ignorance from her.)

But quite possibly the most inane words, and the most dangerous from a free country perspective, were recently spoken by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren:

• She wants Biden to issue as many executive orders as possible to get her radical left wing agenda put into play in this country.
• She wants to have all student loans cancelled.
• She wants to eliminate the patent process for companies and inventors that invest their resources to develop new products and services.
• She wants to raise the minimum wage for all federal contractors to $15 an hour.
• She wants to create a “Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task Force” to “review racial disparities in pandemic funding.”
• Declare the the climate crisis a national emergency

So stupid, so many problems with these inane ideas:

• Executive order governing - Basically she wants Biden to act as much as a dictator as possible, bypassing Congress and squashing the concept of the First Amendment for every citizen and the power of their vote for representation on national matters.
• Forgive student loans - the problem of those with large student loans is not a problem that the rest of us should have to solve with a free pass of government and taxpayer dollars. What would she say to kids who did the right thing by working multiple jobs after getting out of college to pay off their loans? What would she say to poor and middle class families who scraped and suffered to get their kids through college without massive student loans after graduation? Given many of the kids who have large student loans went to elite colleges to begin with and thus, many likely came from wealthier families, let their families pay off the kids’ loans, not the taxpayer.
• Eliminate the patent process - This would essentially mean nothing new would be invented since why would a company or individual pour resources, time, and money into inventing something new just to have it become the property of the rest of the world at the end of the invention process? Think back say thirty years ago if this patent process/insanity had been eliminated then - it is doubtful you would have an iPhone in your pocket, television quality would be nowhere as good or inexpensive as it is today, you might be dead since medical advances would have ground to a halt decades ago without patent protection. Life is so much better now because inventors and smart people took the risks, paid the price and were thus entitled to the fruits of their work. Warren would kill off all of that.
• Minimum wage of $15 for all Federal contractors - this idea would affect how many Federal workers, 2, 22, 102? Such a nit of an issue when there are so many more issues that affect tens of millions of Americans, she would waste time and resources on this idiocy.
• Racial task force on the pandemic - Is this even an issue? I would be that it does not crack the top 100 issues facing Americans if Americans put a list together. Focus on alleviating the pandemic effects for ALL Americans.
• Climate change - we have discussed so, so many times why this is just nonsense.

Rule by dictating, destroying the ability to create new products and services, pamper those with student loans who made bad decisions or are too lazy to pay off their debts, and focusing on minor issues. Insanity and idiocy rolled into one package.

2) There is no doubt that covid was and is a major issue facing the country. It required major steps to get the pandemic under control from a medical servicing perspective including the shutdown of parts of the economy to dull the spread.

But all of this comes with a price and that price is the reduction in freedom. The very real concern is that once politicians know they can shut down selective parts of the economy and life, having done it once, are they more likely to do it again for other issues that do not merit such drastic actions, that we are now on the very slippery slope where governors and mayors can rule by their own views, using any issue they want to bypass freedom and elective offices.

Finally, someone in the Washington establishment is highlighting the danger and potential loss of freedom we face:

• Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito recently said the coronavirus pandemic has “resulted in previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty.”
• He also warned that “religious liberty” is “in danger of becoming a second class right.”
• In a virtual speech he recently gave a conference he warned that we must be diligent in restoring freedom as much as possible after the pandemic is over especially as it relates to freedom of religion.
• Specifically, “Nevada was unable to provide any justification for treating casinos more favorably than other houses of worship,” he said, referring to a recent Supreme Court case in which the court rejected a request by a church to block state restrictions that subjected houses of worship to a 50-person limit, while allowing casinos to operate at 50 percent of their fire-code capacities.“Religious liberty is in danger of becoming a second-class right.” 
• And: “In certain quarters religious liberty has fast become a disfavored right. For many today, religious liberty is not a cherished freedom. It’s often just an excuse for bigotry and it can’t be tolerated even when there’s no evidence that anybody has been harmed.”

Wise words from a very smart man. Freedom is not a given and we need to always be vigilant in protecting our rights of free speech, freedom of religion, freedom to gather, etc., especially when politicians are in the process of restricting all of those rights under cover of a health crisis.

3) Speaking of freedom, we have talked any number of times of how current politicians had no problem severely restricting the life activities of their voters just to ignore their own pandemic decrees that caused such hardship with everyone but themselves, the old “do as I say. not as I do” complex:

• The mayor of Chicago shut down all of the hair salons in the city, preventing her constituents from getting their hair done, but forced her hair salon to open so she could get her hair cut.
• The mayor of Beaumont, Texas, did the same thing in her city but forced her favorite nail salon to open to get her nails done, something she denied to her voters.
• The mayor of New York shut down all of the city parks and gyms to prevent the spread of the virus but forced his gym to open only for himself to get a workout and walked through closed parks for a stroll, all of which he denied to his residents.
• The governor’s husband in Michigan tried to get his boat out of storage and on the water for a Memorial Day boating day despite his wife having shut down all boating activities in the whole state.
• The Illinois governor shut down all travel out of and into Illinois but allowed his wife and family to travel to Florida.
• The Philadelphia mayor shut down all indoor dining at city restaurants but took a trip to Maryland so that he could have an indoor meal.
• The governor of California kept county public schools shut down in the county where he lives even though the expensive, ritzy private school where his kids attend was allowed to reopen for face to face learning.

You get the idea, the politicians in this country treat themselves while others suffer, where their own edicts are not mandatory for their behavior, merely suggestions that they can ignore at their whim.

The latest such behavior comes from California:

• Gavin Newsom is the governor of California.
• He has placed some of the most draconian lock down restrictions on state residents.
• And yet, according to a local NBC News report: “For months, Gov. Gavin Newsom has pleaded with Californians to resist the temptation to socialize with friends and relatives outside their household. Turns out, he's the one who couldn't resist. Newsom acknowledged Friday he attended a birthday party with a dozen friends on Nov. 6 at the posh French Laundry restaurant in wine country north of San Francisco.”
• This is one of the most expensive dining places anywhere, with the menu including a $350 per person wine tasting option, i.e. this is a dining option for only the very rich.
• Newsom’s public gathering restrictions include “ If people must visit others, they should meet outside, include no more than three households, wear masks, stay socially distant and limit their interaction to two hours.”
• It appears that Newsom violated at least some of these tenets, tenets he has imposed on every other citizen of California.
• AFTER he got caught he had this weak apology: “While our family followed the restaurant’s health protocols and took safety precautions, we should have modeled better behavior and not joined the dinner.” 

“Should have modeled better behavior.” Seriously, given what the governor has been harping on for months about preventing the spread of the virus, he did not think straight about what he was doing by attending this birthday party, especially since he has forced others to cancel birthday parties, funerals, family reunions, etc? 

He obviously should have known better which means he really didn’t care, he is above the very same edicts that he imposes. Incredible hypocrisy.

That will do it for today: more of the same “do as I say, not as I do” hypocrisy from the American political class, at least one member of the Washington establishment is worried about us losing our freedom and a Senator wants to take that freedom away while focusing on extremely trivial matters. Insane.

February, 2020, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: HIllary Thinks She Is Above The Law, Elizabeth Warren Says Ability and Experience Do Not Matter and Joe Biden Is Worried He Is Too Old

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We have often talked about how politicians are pretty good at putting restrictions on us while ignoring the exact same things they force us to do. They practice the art of “do as I say not what I do.” Hilary Clinton recently put forth another such example of this elitism as outlined in an article on the Big League Politics website by Shane Trejo:

• A few months ago Clinton went on a verbal rampage attack on Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard.
• She accused Gabbard of a number of things including being a Russian agent who were trying to disrupt the 2020 elections.
• Clinton provided no proof of such a relationship so Gabbard went out and filed a lawsuit for defamation.
• But to sue someone like Gabbard is trying to do with Clinton someone has to serve the lawsuit papers with the person being sued, in this case, Hillary Clinton.
• Unbelievably, it is alleged that Clinton has told her Secret Service detail to not allow any process servers to get near her and thus, thwarting the lawsuit process.
• Her lawyer, Brian Dunne, told the New York Post that he is shocked by Clinton’s flagrant disrespect for the law: “I find it rather unbelievable that Hillary Clinton is so intimidated by Tulsi Gabbard that she won’t accept service of process. But I guess here we are.”It might be unbelievable but it's happening, a direct middle finger to the rule of law process in this country.
• According to the article: “Dunne said that Secret Service officials intervened to stop Clinton from being served at her Chappaqua, New York home on Tuesday. A day later, a Clinton lawyer rebuffed the process server in Washington D.C. at a law firm after the Secret Service instructed the serve to deliver the lawsuit to Clinton there.”
• Which leads on to question Clinton’s judgment and reasoning: does she actually think that Gabbard is going to go away if she blocks the process servers long enough?
• Or, more likely, does she think that libel and slander laws do not apply to her?
• Gabbard was also not happy about Clinton’s elitism: “If Hillary Clinton and her allies can successfully destroy my reputation — even though I’m a war veteran and a sitting member of Congress — then they can do it to anybody. I will not allow this blatant effort to intimidate me and other patriotic Americans into silence go unchallenged.”

At some point you have to assume that a judge will get involved and force Clinton to accept the lawsuit papers but it shows again how special politicians in this country think they are, how they can flaunt the very laws they passed in the first place.

2) If you were going to have to undergo a major operation, wouldn't you want your medical team to be comprised of the best people possible for the jobs they would be doing during your operation? When you buy a car, wouldn’t you want to feel comfortable that the most skilled people put that car together, especially the brakes. You certainly want to make sure you are getting top quality for your money, either medically or automotively.

But when it comes to government functions, that is not how at least one politician thinks:

• Elizabeth Warren, whose Presidential aspirations are fading fast, recently promised that half of her Cabinet, if elected, would made up of women and so-called “non-binary” people.
• She promised that she would put a priority on hiring gay individuals for leadership roles in her administration and force this strategy unto all Federal entities.
• She would also focus on people of color.

So rather than put the best qualified people in positions of power and influence, she would go down some kind of checklist to get a mix of people that fit her fantasy, competence and the ability to do the job be damned. It would be like you going in for brain surgery and the head of the hospital insists that a foot doctor do the operation because the foot doctor is of a specific skin color or sexual orientation.

Look, I am all for giving EVERYONE an equal chance at a job opportunity but to say we are going to fill jobs based on sexual orientation or skin color independent of the finding the best people to do the job is ludicrous. You would not do it for medical needs, you would not do it for automotive needs, we should have to do it for government needs, government needs that are funded with our tax dollars.

3) Would you hire a general contractor to do massive renovations to your home if that contractor told you up front that he was an old guy who might die and thus, not be around to see the project to completion? Would you hire him if you knew his medical history was kind of shaky and he actually was quite old?

I don't think so. So why would anyone vote for a politician who was in the same situation:

•  Joe Biden was recently asked who his Vice President candidate might be, he said it would be someone who could take over immediately because “I’m an old guy.”
• While I admire his honesty, not sure I would hire him as a President or a general contractor if he is telling me he is old and might die.
• Specifically: “It has to be demonstrated that whoever I pick is two things: one, is capable of immediately being president because I’m an old guy.”
• And yet he still wants to be President even though he is not sure he would live through it: “No, I’m serious. Look, I thank God I’m in great health. I work out. No, I’m serious. You know, I work out every morning. I’m in good shape – knock on wood, as my mother would say. I released all my medical records. But you never know. You never know what’s going on. And I’m sure what would happen is I have – some people looking would say, ‘Is the person Biden picked capable of, God forbid something happened to Biden, that they would be able to take over immediately?’”
• If he somehow lived long enough and became President at age 78, he would be the oldest President ever.
• And Dr. David Scheiner, Obama's personal doctor is not sure Biden should be running since his medical history includes high cholesterol, a past aneurysm, and “persistent” atrial fibrillation. 

Again, I am not hiring a general contractor to do massive amounts of work on my home if I know he himself has doubts about how long he will be around and he has a history of medical issues besides just being old. Why Biden is wasting his time and our time given his reality and his doubts is a shame and insane.

So today we learned that Hillary Clinton is using government resources to put herself above the law, Elizabeth Warren wants to staff her Presidential administration with people who may not be the most capable to serve particular functions based skin color and sexual orientation not ability, and even Joe Biden has doubts if Joe Biden will be around long enough to be a full term President. You cannot make this crazy stuff up but somehow American politicians do.

February, 2020, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Democrats Attack The First Amendment, Biden Like Illegal Immigrants More Than Americans and More

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) One thing that American politicians never to seem to understand is that we enjoy having the protection of the First Amendment, the ability to have freedom of speech unencumbered by restrictions that these same politicians want to put upon us. The First Amendment might be the greatest document ever written by humanity when it comes to freedom but that in no way stops politicians from wanting to pen it up, criminalize it, restrict, and eventually do away with it.

The latest example of this restriction of freedom comes from Democratic Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren. Warren wants to “to create civil and criminal penalties for knowingly disseminating false information about when and how to vote in U.S. elections.” She also wants to put a national security expert in charge of sniffing out and punishing those who spread such information.

So many problems with this: 

• What criteria will be used to determine what is “false information” vs. just being misinformed?
• If a politician like Warren disagrees with your opinion, does that make it false and thus subject you to prosecution?
• Will there be degrees of false information dissemination, is one level a misdemeanor and one level a felony and who determines what the right level and punishment is?
• How is the national security expert to be selected and what will be their duties and restrictions vs. the First Amendment rights of every American?

Words like censorship, dictatorship, and George Orwell come to mind, allowing a politician to judge who is honest and who is a political opponent that needs to be shut down? Orwell warned us when he said,”Big Brother is watching.” We ignore his words and trust Warren, a politician who has a long history of lying, at our own risk.

2) But Warren is not the only politician that wants to restrict our freedom. Congressman Adam Schiff was the primary ring leader in the circus that was the impeachment of Trump. Even though Trump has not proven guilty of anything Schiff said in this opening statement to the Senate that the decision to remove Trump cannot be left to the election and voters exercising their First Amendment rights.

In other words, Trump’s political opponents need to take Trump out and cut tens of millions of Trump voters out of the equation and violate their Constitutional rights. Rush Limbaugh summed this idiocy quite nicely: “Meaning we can’t wait for the American people to decide because you people don’t know enough to throw the guy out. The Democrats have to be in charge of this. Your vote doesn’t count anymore.”

The hypocrisy of politicians has no end and no morals. Democrats are scared that they do not have an answer to the Trump Presidency, just looking at their leading candidates to be President can prove this point, and they have no trepidations about squashing our voting rights to get their political objectives satisfied. Pathetic and disgusting attack on freedom.

3) Not only Warren trying to take away our First Amendment rights but residents of the state of Virginia are having their First Amendment rights under attack by state politicians:

• State Democrats in the Virginia legislature have actually put together some potential legislation that would criminalize any criticisms of state politicians and government workers.
• Specifically the legislation states that “If any person, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, or harass any person, shall use a computer or computer network to communicate obscene, vulgar, profane, lewd, lascivious, or indecent language, or make any suggestion or proposal of an obscene nature, or threaten any illegal or immoral act, he is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.”
• The legislation is specific who cannot be criticized and includes the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and just about every other Virginia state official and politician.
• The wife of a Republican Virginia politician sums up this First Amendment attack: “Wow on cue, now they are after the 1A! Dems are trying to set up special rules exclusive to the Elite ruling class, to protect themselves from criticism! What is considered harassment? Is Governor Infanticide/KKK Hood trying to avoid being held accountable? Are we no longer allowed to demand justice for the alleged rape victims of LG Fairfax? This is some straight up communist censorship!”

A few days ago we discussed the incident involving New York Senator Chuck Schumer where he had a problem on a plane when an airline stewardess politely asked him to get off his cell phone so a plane could take off. After objecting to having to obey the rules that regular citizens are bound by, he called the stewardess a “bitch” for treating him like a regular customer. 

This mentality, rules and laws do not apply to politicians, is being reenacted in Virginia: we are above the law and the rules that apply to regular citizens, we need to be treated special. And in the process, they continue to trample the First Amendment.

4) In the latest example of how politicians care more about illegal immigrants than U.S. citizens, consider the criminal justice views of Joe Biden. In a recent interview Biden insisted that he would not deport illegal immigrants who are arrested and found guilty for drunk driving in this country. Yes, in his view it is not only okay for you to be here in this country illegally but if you get behind a wheel of a car while drunk and hurt or kill someone you can still stay in the country.

The reaction to this idiocy was swift including this response from Mothers Against Drunk Driving: “Drunk driving is the #1 killer on America’s roads that should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of the offender’s immigration status. MADD supports the victims of these crashes and their wishes in all drunk driving cases.”

That should do it for today: pompous politicians who do not want to be criticized, the attacks on the First Amendment and Biden continuing to coddle illegal immigrants.

January, 2020, Part 1, Why I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science: More Failed Global Warming Forecasts and Making Humanity Go Extinct Is the Solution

Every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:

• Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
• Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
• Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims.

1) One of the biggest fallacies we have said about global warming advocates is that they often just look at a small chunk of data or a chunk of time, ignoring the rest of the data that is available or ignoring much longer time frames to get a context for climate changes. As a result, they come to incorrect assumptions that result in incorrect forecasts which over time are always proven wrong.

This reality is discussed in the following video. The assumption of the video is that often global warming advocates do not look at long enough historic time periods. If they did, they would see that the Earth goes through cyclical periods of cooling and warming and that those cycles have nothing to do with mankind’s use of carbon fuels. 2) Speaking of incorrect climate forecasts:

• Ten years ago, workers at Glacier National Park posted signs in the park that said climate change would cause all of the park’s glaciers to melt by the year 2020.
• Whoops, as of 2020 the glaciers are still with us, another global warming forecast down the drain.
• According to a park spokesman, they are not giving up on their dire prediction of glacier demise.
• The park is taking down the old signs and putting up new signs that say “when the glaciers” disappear.
• This is an old global warming advocate trick approach, make bold predictions but do not put a timeline on on those predictions which means the prediction can never be wrong, the prediction has just not happened yet.
• This is probably a good strategy, i.e. never time bound your global warming predictions since in 1923 the news media reported that the glaciers would be nearly gone in just 25 years or 1948.
• In 1936 another news story proclaimed that the glaciers would be gone in another 25 year or 1961.
• Scientists back in the early 1950s said the glaciers would be gone in 50 years.
• In 2009, National Geographic magazine questioned whether the glaciers would still be around by 2020.
• And finally, a recent New York Times article said the glaciers would be gone by 2044

Are we seeing a trend here? Every time a global warming/glacier melting forecast is proven wrong, a new forecast just pushes the date out. This has been going on for almost 100 years and the glaciers are still here. Can you see why a global warming doubter is actually doubter? Forecasts are always wrong until we get to a point where forecasts have no dateline which means they can never be wrong, they just have not happened yet.

3) But the pitiful forecasting of glaciers’ demises is not the only major failure on global warming forecasting:

• In 2004, the Department of Defense told President Bush that by the year 2020 major cities in Europe would be under water from rising seas, which did not happen.
• They also told Bush that Britain would be suffering from a Siberian climate by 2020, which did not happen.
• They layered on top of these environmental predictions that by 2020 the world would be experiencing “nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine, and widespread rioting would erupt around the world,” which did not happen.
• We previously discussed the failed prediction of Al Gore that the Arctic would likely be ice free by the year 2013, which did not happen.
• Other failed climate predictions boldly said that there would be a new ice age by the year 2000...by the year 2020…by the year 2070 or snow would be a thing of the past by the year 2000 which is kind of against the new ice age prediction by the year 2000.

Again, the time is now right for a comprehensive, objective look at the environment and how humanity plays into the environment by looking at ALL of the science, research, and realities. Because looking just at a subset of science, research, and realities, which people like Al Gore have been doing for at least 100 years, has yielded a zero success rate at predicting what is going to happen. 

4) We have often talked about the many nonsensical ideas that global warming advocates have put forth. Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren wants to place a carbon tax on everything. Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez want to implement a massive New Green Deal idiocy that would tax every American into oblivion and crash the economy. And they want to do this despite the failure of global warming advocates to ever get anything right from a reality and forecasting perspective.

And while these global warming advocate ideas and likely failed solutions are pretty insane, climate activist Les Knight of Portland has pushed way beyond these idiotic concepts:

• Knight’s solution is to get rid of the human race to save the planet.
• He claims that he has been pushing for this solution to Mother Nature’s problems long before the fad of climate change took hold.
• Specifically: “Fifty years ago, I concluded that the best thing for the planet would be a peaceful phase-out of human existence. We’re causing the extinction of hundreds of thousands of other species. With us gone, I believe ecosystems will be restored and there will be enough of everything. No more fighting over resources.” 
• To prove his commitment to this nonsense, he went out and got himself a vasectomy and not be able to contribute to the problem of humans’ existence.
• He created the Voluntary Human Extinction Project to help implement his plan to save the Earth by killing off humanity.Furthermore according to Knight: “If we go extinct, other species will have a chance to recover. I’ll never see the day when there are no humans on the planet, but I can imagine what a magnificent world it would be – provided we go soon enough.”

Wow, one of the more radical solutions to climate change. The fact that he did not make himself an example of human extinction by making himself extinct kind of destroys his credibility to some degree. The longer he exists the more natural resources he uses up which is against what he is advocating. So now we are in a hypocritical set of reasoning: we should all go extinct because I think it would be best for the planet, I just do not want the extinction to start with me. Insanity.

More failed forecasts and a touch of craziness, more reasons why I continue to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science.

January, 2020, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Elizabeth Warren's Lies, Joe Biden's Delusions, and California's Problems

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We often have asked the question, are politicians so stupid that they believe their own lies or do they think we are too stupid to understand that they are lying? It is a question for the ages. Which brings us to the first insanity topic today, the many, many lies of Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren. She has not shied away from the big lie rather than just telling lies about her plans and programs, she kind of focused on life long lies that are really pretty easy to refute:

• Her biggest and longest running lie was that she had substantial Native American heritage and ancestors in her background. She has used that lie to move to the head of the line when it came to lucrative job opportunities, helping make her a millionaire many times over. After getting a lot of doubt thrown her way on this claim when she gained national notoriety, she did a DNA test on herself and alas, found out that she indeed had very, very little Native American in her, much less than the average American.
• Warren is currently a Senator from Massachusetts. She promised state voters that if re-elected she would serve out her full Senate term. A few weeks after she secured her re-election she launched her Presidential campaign which if elected, would cause her to not fulfill her vow to the state’s voters.
• She wants to get rid of non-public schools in an obvious bone being thrown to public school teacher unions, lying even though her kids went to private schools and got all of the benefits of private school, benefits she would deny to millions of American families.
• She lied about her father being a janitor.
• She lied about getting fired from a teaching job because she was pregnant. 
• She lied about how she would fund the disaster known as Medicare For All.

The problem is that these are the lies that have been proven to be actual lies. How many other statements, and promises, are also lies? Nothing different here, just another American politician spouting out lie after lie.

2) As a Congressman, Senator, and a Vice President, Joe Biden has generally been an embarrassment. He has been in Washington for decades and has accomplished very little except making himself very, very rich. 

And now he wants to be President and yet, he has spent the past years making a fool of himself. I found a list of his most ridiculous instance showing how unfit he is to President with video proof if you do not believe the words that follow:

• Biden has shown a creep tendency to put his hands all over females regardless of how old they are, i.e. he also fondles kids. This has earned him the nickname “Creepy Uncle Joe.” Besides touching kids his most famous female touch was when he put his arms around the wife of Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter, and then smelled her hair. He tried to feel up reporter Amie Parnes during a 2013 Christmas party and told a 10 year old girl that she was “good looking.”
• But it was just not females that he had an inappropriate actions with. He also insulted minority kids with the following statement: “We have this notion that if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids!”
• Biden was Vice President for eight years for Obama. One would think that he would remember those years and that assignment. But alas, he did not on at least one occasion. This past August Biden claimed that victims of the shooting at Florida’s Parkland High School “came to see me when I was Vice President.” The problem is that the shooting occurred after Trump took office when Biden was no longer Vice President. Delusional?
• Maybe he really has a problem with dates. In an Iowa campaign event, he claimed that Obama had protected illegal immigrants back in 1976: “We’re going to allow families to stay together while they go through the process … We did that in 1976.” But back in 1976 Obama was 13 years old which probably makes it unlikely that Obama was not able to keep illegal immigrant families together since he was likely in seventh grade.
• Biden has seemed to be confused on exactly where he is. In 2019 he confused New Hampshire with Vermont and Iowa with Ohio.
• Although it did not happen in 2019, who can forget this faux history lesson Biden gave the country during the days of the Great Recession: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed.” But this only happened in Biden’s version of reality. In everyone else’s version of reality Herbert Hoover was President when the stock market crashed and the Great Depression hit. Oh, and TV was not a reality in 1929 America, FDR talked to the nation via radio once he actually became President.
• While in the middle of a 2019 Presidential debate with a dozen other candidates, Biden spoke up that he wanted to raise taxes on people “clipping coupons in the stock market.” To this day, no one has a clue what this means...except maybe Biden.
• Back in 2008, Biden criticized the Republican economic plan since that “economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: Jobs. J-O-B-S.” 
• During a 2008 campaign rally, Biden told wheelchair-bound Missouri state senator Chuck Graham to “Stand up, Chuck, let them see you! Oh, God love ya, what am I talking about?! I tell you what, you’re making everybody else stand up though, Pal.” Unfortunately, Senator Graham was mobility impaired and restricted to a wheelchair.
• Back on St. Patrick’s Day 2010 Biden claimed that Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen’s “mom lived in Long Island for 10 years or so, God rest her soul. Err, although she’s, wait—your mom’s still alive!” he said. Does he not have anybody on his staff that can brief him the situations he is likely to find himself in?
• Biden is not the most tech-oriented either. During a talk he encouraged people to go to his website “Joe 30330.” Unfortunately, “Joe 30330” is his text number, not his website.

And this gentleman wants to operate the greatest country in the world when he has no idea where he is, who he is talking to, who cannot count, gropes females regardless of age, and who is tech ignorant. Insane. To see him actually saying these gaffes go to:

3) Unfortunately, many of our most recent posts have highlighted how badly state politicians have screwed up the state of California. Things have gotten so bad, high taxes, crumbling infrastructure, poor public education, skyrocketing homelessness, defecation and urination in the streets, high energy prices, return of Medieval diseases, skyrocketing crime, etc. that tax paying residents and businesses have started to escape to other more civilized places to live where their families, health, and wealth are safer.

Consider the experience of a former state politician, Chuck Devore, and his observations on the state which he left behind since he too has also fled the disaster that is California:

• “California’s progressive left policies are killing the state.”
• “The state is dying.”
• “Everything is more expensive. Their energy is more expensive, housing is more expensive.”
• “If you want a blueprint of what America will look like if the left takes over, look no further than California. They have half of the nation’s unsheltered individuals in one state, in California. The place is falling apart.”
• "California is failing. President Trump certainly is going to have his work cut out for him because it’s very difficult for the federal government to move alone, without the state and local governments backing them up" 
• "However, I know a lot of nonprofits out in California would certainly love to see a change in policy, and maybe we’re going to see that and maybe we will start to see a reduction in the homeless population. In the meantime, though, California isn’t looking good."
• “I predict within two years, you're actually going to see California begin to shrink in population as people leave the state and go to other places like Texas where taxes are lower and regulation is less.” 

This from someone who saw up close and personal what the California political class is doing to the once great state of California. High taxes, high regulations, and low ability to resolve issues, a deadly combination.

So, inept politicians, a clueless politician, and a chronic lying politician. God help us.

January, 2020, The Unfolding Disaster That Is Obama Care: The Stupidity Of Medicare For All Continues

Every month for years now we have had to discuss how bad Obama Care is turning out to be under the continuing theme, “the unfolding disaster that is Obama Care.” This month is no different. As the legislation continues to march through America, driving up health care and health insurance prices as it serves as dead weight on economic growth, it cements its rightful place as the worst piece of legislation Washington has ever produced.

It never had a chance to be successful since it really never addressed the underlying root causes of our ever increasing health costs in the country:

• Americans eat too much of the wrong kind of food, resulting in obscenely high obesity rates for the country.
• Our food chain is infested with overdoses of high fructose corn syrup, salt, sugar, and other unhealthy additives.
• Americans smoke too much.
• Americans do not exercise enough.
• The country is in serious need of health care tort reform.
• Barriers to insurance company competition across state lines need to come down.
• Obama Care never “followed the money” to find out who is actually profiting from the ever escalating healthcare costs in this country and how to get those factors under control.
• Obama Care never got the immense amount of fraud and abuse in the current government healthcare programs, Medicare and Medicaid, under control in order to save money to efficiently fund other government health care initiatives.
• Obama Care never put serious research money towards curing the major diseases that drive high healthcare costs such as high frequency cancers and dementia type diseases.

You cannot resolve any problem unless you understand and address the underlying root causes. No difference here: Obama Care legislation never addressed these listed root causes and thus, has no chance of ever being successful.

But it is not just missing the root causes of our healthcare costs that makes Obama Care so horrible. It resulted in millions of Americans losing access to their favored doctors, hospitals, and insurance policies. It has caused insurance premiums, deductibles and copays to escalate substantially. It will likely add trillions of dollars to the national debt. It has exposed millions of Americans to higher than necessary identity theft chances. It has created government bureaucracies that are wasteful spending taxpayer wealth and being exploited by criminal elements. It has stifled economic growth and job creation.

These are just a sample of the types of idiocy that we have been reviewing for the past several years in this blog relative to Obama Care. To read those past posts, just enter the phrase, “the unfolding disaster,” in the search box above.

When we started this theme many years ago, it was all about the failure that is Obama Care. Over time, many of the failures that we predicted or other smart people predicted came true. Obama Care did not reduce annual health insurance premiums by up to $2,500 as promised. Obama Care did not bend the cost curve of health care as promised. Obama Care did not get insurance for over 21 million Americans as promised. And Obama Care did not allow you to keep your doctors, your hospitals or insurance plans as promised.

But with the failure of Obama Care has come a much worse idea, “Medicare For All.” Thus, most of these types of posts going forward will focus on this inane idea since the previous big healthcare inane idea, Obama Care, has basically collapsed in failure.

1) In our previous posts and many posts before that we pointed out the reality of what happens when government and politicians take over the healthcare industry in a country: 

1. Costs go up.
2. Quality of care goes down.
3. Access to health care goes down.
4. People suffer more pain for longer periods of time.

This is not a guess, it is based on real life experiences of ordinary citizens living in Canada, England and elsewhere were somehow, someone thought that government bureaucrats and the politicians who direct them can be more efficient and effective than the free market and individuals making decisions based on their own needs and wants.

And yet, Democrats and liberals around the country, including those running for President, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, think that the so-called “Medicare For” all concept, basically abdicating all health care decisions and responsibilities to the Federal government, is a good idea despite the failure of similar concepts around the world.

One of the main but false selling points of Medicare For All is that ordinary Americans would be better off financially under this system because 1) politicians would get rich in this country to pay for the program and 2) this program would be much more efficient and thus, overall, families would pay less vs. what they pay today.

A couple of problems with this scenario:

• Many research and analysis efforts have shown that the cost for such a program would require the Federal government to obtain over $3 TRILLION a year in extra taxes to pay for this $3 TRILLION Medicare For All program.
• We have shown in previous analyses that you cannot cover these extra Medicare For All costs even if you confiscate all of the wealth of the rich in this country, never mind just raising their taxes.
• And this approach is not more efficient since in other countries where this approach was actually implemented, the wait time for a doctor appointment, the lead time to get an operation, and the lead time just to get a simple X-ray or MRI is eons longer than the wait times in this country.
• This is why rich folks from other countries come to this country for medical care, they do not want to wait and suffer the long lead times in their own socialized medicine countries.

Medicare For All is a plan stupid idea, as pointed out from a financial perspective in a recent Heritage Foundation analysis:

• This research found that the majority of American families, possibly three out of four, would be worse off financially under a Medicare For All program.
• Obviously, if this analysis is right, then far more than just the wealthy will be paying more out of pocket expenses than what Warren and Sanders are promising.
• The Heritage analysis found that under the Medicare For All effort some families would be paying more for than what they currently pay for electricity, gas for their cars, and possibly their food budget while abdicating their decisions for healthcare to nameless and faceless government bureaucrats guided by mostly inane and ignorant politicians.
• The total bottom line of the analysis found that 73.5% of Americans families would have less money in their pocket under the Medicare For All program than under the current healthcare market structure that exists today with likely worse healthcare quality.
• The analysis used the financial method used by other countries to finance their nationalized health care systems, payroll taxes.
• American households who currently get healthcare coverage via their employer healthcare program would be hit the hardest, seeing their after income tax take home pay shrink an average of about $10,544 a year, leading to the finding that 87% of those Americans currently getting employer sponsored health care being financially worse off under the Medicare For All plan.
• Lower-income working families, which currently get health care through government programs like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, would also be worse off to the tune of seeing their average household income shrink by about $5,592 a year. 
• Nationally the analysis found that Medicare For All would “require an additional tax of 21.2 cents on every dollar that every American earns. (Right now, most workers and their employers pay 15.3 cents on the dollar in payroll taxes.)”
• Combining this 21.2 cents for every dollar earned with current income tax rates, Social Security taxes, and Medicare taxes, the Federal government would likely be taking over 50% of your annual household income under the Medicare For All program before the state and local governments take even more.
• The Heritage Foundation analysis was kind to the Medicare For All Program because it assumed that Americans would still continue working as hard and to the same number of hours despite having over half of their income confiscated, a shaky assumption since most level headed people would work less and less as the government took more and more.
• The Heritage Foundation got down to the real nitty gritty of what would happen to certain types of Americans under Medicare For All, not just high level, gross estimates. 
• For example, Olivia Williams, an unmarried mother of two earning $31,000 a year, would be worse off by $1,547 or a decrease in income by 5.3%, the amount she spends on electricity every year.
• The Suarezes, a median-income married couple earning about $98,000, with two kids and employer health benefits, would be worse off by $9,201, or a reduction in their income of 13.3%.
• The Joneses, a lower-middle-income married couple earning nearly $50,000, with two kids and employer health benefits, would be $1,619 worse off or 4.4%, the amount they spend annually on gas for their cars.

You get the idea, we would be spending more and getting less in terms of healthcare quality and quantity. Now, some might say that the Heritage Foundation is biased towards free market solutions and they would probably be right. But until Sanders and Warren come up with detailed analysis on how Americans will be better off under Medicare For All, something that have not done, then the Heritage Foundation, and others like it which show how stupid Medicare For All is, have the final say in how bad this concept is. Or as summarized by the Heritage Foundation: “Those pushing for Medicare for All have left out some essential details. No legislative sponsor of this plan has offered a way to fully pay for its promises. Instead, Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren have put out plans that don’t fully pay for what they’ve promised to provide, and they dramatically overestimate the revenue that new taxes on the rich could raise.”

2) And even if after all the analysis we have shown, above, the previous post, and other posts, you still think that the concept of government control of your health care decisions is a good idea, consider the following realities:

• A Georgia Congressman actually spoke out in a televised Congressional hearing that he thought the island of Guam could actually tip over in the middle of the ocean if too many Navy resources were deployed there.
• A Texas Congresswoman proclaimed that the Constitution is 400 years old (it isn’t), that her Congressional district sits 50 feet below sea level, (it doesn’t), and that she was curious if one of the Mars Rover vehicles would be going anywhere near where Neil Armstorng walked on the moon.
• A Speaker of The House once proclaimed that Congress had to pass a piece of major legislation (i.e. Obama Care) to actually see what was in it.
• A New York Congresswoman had no idea what the three branches of our government was and could not accurately define how to calculate the basic unemployment rate despite having a business college degree.

I do not know about you but I do not want stupid people determining every aspect of my healthcare. The way to fix the healthcare problems in this country is to first understand the root causes of high healthcare costs, as listed above, and then attack those specific root causes. Throwing TRILLIONS of dollars at a problem without attacking the root causes is a recipe for financial disaster.
