September, 2023, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Biden's Lies and His Horrible Immigration Policies Continue

 Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country. 

Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.


1)It has gotten worse and worse over time, Joe Biden’s inability to get stories and facts straight, his inability to not tell lies, and his nonchalant approach to reality. Dozens of his lies and fibs have  been previously discussed in the following posts:

And despite being called out for his liles and confusions, he continues to do the same thing over and over, most recently in Philadelphia:


  • He recently gave a speech on Labor Day where he apparently had big three lies and/or detachment from reality.

  • First off he claimed that Philadelphia helped him get elected to the Senate: “I wouldn’t have been elected to the United States Senate in the first place were it not for Philadelphia. That’s not a joke.”

  • The problem is that Philadelphia is in the state of Pennsylvania and Biden has never been elected in a Pennsylvania election, all of his election wins have  come from representing the state of Delaware.

  • Thus, how could a city in a different state help him get elected to the Senate?

  • But he did not stop with the lie or misconception there since he thanked the audience for helping him be elected President “...since you got me sworn in in January 2020!”

  • But this is also wrong since he was sworn in as President in January 2021. 

  • And finally he tried to convince everyone that his economic policies were wonderful, saying that “everyone on Wall Street” was calling his agenda “Bidenomics” and “And guess what? It’s working!”

  • Another lie or another out of touch moment with reality since overall inflation is up 16% since he took office, grocery prices are up nearly 20%, gas prices are up about 50%, and the list of bad economic news seems almost endless.


The man lives in a different reality than  the rest of us, a world where families are struggling to pay bills because of Washington's and Biden’s anemic economic skills, a world where we know what state our politicians come from, and a world where we know basic dates about our lives.


2)We have  constantly talked about the plight of some very unfortunate Americans:


  • On any one day there are likely 500,000 to 600,000 homeless Americans living on the streets.

  • Millions of families are often confronted with real problems when  it comes to feeding their families given the 20% increase in grocery prices discussed above.

  • Well over 100,000 Americans will likely die this year from  drug overdoses because they cannot get the drug addiction treatment they so desperately need.


But rather than direct more American citizen taxpayer wealth to help these Americans, the Biden administration has a whole different set of priorities:


  • Wiliam Green is a  Border Patrol  agent and president of their organization, ALIPAC.

  • According to Mr. Green, the Biden administration is providing illegal immigration families with $2,200 a month in taxpayer funds along with giving them free plane tickets, housing, food, cell  phones, and medical  care;

  • Specifically: “The Biden-Harris administration is giving more money to illegal immigrant invaders, than to our own U.S. citizens. Once a person understands that, then that person will always be on our side of the illegal immigration debate, which is very simple. Keep them all out, send them all home.”


Just another example where we see that Americans in need get overlooked in favor of illegal immigrants. Insane.


3)Liberal local politicians in New York City for a very long time boasted that they were a so-called “sanctuary city” where illegal immigrants would be welcomed with open, caring arms and would be protected from being properly deported for illegally entering the country. And for years they looked like caring, wonderful people who cared so much about the suffering of illegal immigrants.


And then one of their own, Joe Biden, decided to open the southern border and has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to waltz into this country,  many of whom have decided to take up New York City’s offer of being a sanctuary city. All of a sudden in a very short time the hypocrisy of these politicians have turned to terror when  they realize that being a sanctuary city can be very expensive:


  • The current mayor of NYC, Eric Adams, recently spoke at a city town hall meeting.

  • Now keep in mind,  Adams has been a proponent of making his city a wonderful sanctuary city for illegal immigrants.

  • However, in a very short time, about 110,000 illegal immigrants have decided to take him up on his offer.

  • And this influx has not been a good thing for his sanctuary city and its legal residents: “Let me tell you something New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month,”

  • He continued: One time we were just getting Venezuela, now we’re getting Ecuador, now we’re getting Russian-speaking coming through Mexico, now we’re getting Western Africa, now we’re getting people from all over the globe who have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City. And everyone is saying, ‘It’s New York City’s problem.’ Every community in this city is going to be impacted. We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut every service in this city is going to be impacted.”


It is easy to  be a great humanitarian when you do not have  to do  anything to back up your lofty aspirations and bragging. However, once 110,000 illegal immigrants turn up on your doorstep, the hypocrisy of his and others’ stances on sanctuary cities becomes so obvious.


And of course, it is American citizens in sanctuary cities who are funding the feeding, housing, and  other needs of these illegal  immigrant folks and it is American citizens that are going to see their government services cut because of their leaders’ pope dream of being a sanctuary city.


Unfortunately the insanity continues, be it Biden’s constant lies or the disastrous consequences of his horrid immigration policies.

January, 2023, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: Fatal Failures of the American Political Class, From California To Chicago To Philadelphia to DC

 It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.


To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.


1)One of the very basic functions of any government is to protect the lives and property of the citizens it serves. Any successes in other endeavors are insignificant if a government entity and the politicians that operate it cannot protect the lives of its citizens.


Unfortunately, over the years we have shown that one of the worst, if not the worst, set of politicians at protecting the lives of its citizens are in Chicago. Every year it seems the violence and murder rates continue to climb and the local politicians have no idea how to fix this very basic failure:

  • Over the recent New Years weekend 28 residents of Chicago were shot and 7 died from their wounds.

  • This is probably a pretty normal weekend for the city when it comes to violence and homicides.

  • Those that died included a 9 year old boy who was killed while inside his house.

  • A teenage boy was shot to death and three other teenagers were wounded in a car to car shooting.

  • For the year, Chicago had 723 of its citizens murdered and almost 3,000 wounded.

A failure of a political class and government entity if there ever was one.

2)While Chicago has been a hotbed of murder and violence over the past several years, with no relief or solution in sight, the city of Philadelphia is becoming another prime example where local politicians cannot find a solution to the violence and in the process, protect the lives of its citizens:

  • Philadelphia recently wrapped up 2022 with over 500 murders for the second year in a row.

  • Those murders ranged in age from 9 years old to 78 years old.

  • Seven of those killed were kids under 14 years of age.

  • The murder total has not been this high since 1990 when 500 people were killed during the crack cocaine crisis.

  • In 2014 248 people were murdered in the city and thus, the murder totals have  doubled in the past seven years, really accelerating after Philadelphia went through its own, stupid “defunding the police” charade.

Again, if a government entity cannot protect the  lives of its citizens, it is a failure, clear and simple, and a failure of its local political class.

3)Politicians are great at the old adage, “Do as I say, not as I do.” The examples of such behaviors have been covered many times in this blog and will not be reviewed again here. If interested, type “do as I say”  in the search box above to get some posts where these heinous, hypocritical behaviors are documented.

Biden recently exhibited similar behavior over the holiday week:

  • Biden has been carping about man-made climate change for years and how Americans need to sacrifice how they heat their homes, how they should never get cheap gas for their cars, and how their behaviors are bad for the environment.

  • Congress recently passed a bloated and debt laden 2023 budget bill that will cost the American taxpayer $1.7 TRILLION and resolve none of the crises facing the country.

  • Joe Biden went on vacation to the Virgin Islands and never got around to signing the legislation even though it was passed well before he left on vacation.

  • Turns out the legislation had to be signed by December 30 in order to keep the government operating, a date when Biden would still be on vacation.

  • Thus, the Biden White house decided that they would fly the actual legislation down to the Virgin Islands for him to sign before December 30, resulting in unleashing unnecessary carbon output into the air, something he has nagged us about for years.

Again, do as I say, not as I do.

4)Speaking of Biden’s vacation, consider the heartless optics of his Virgin Islands vacation. The country was encased in a massive cold front that was spewing ice and snow all over the country. This horrific storm was caused major transportation, heating, and power problems for millions of Americans. Dozens and dozens of people died as a result of this storm. 

And yet he still went on vacation to the tropics. And from what I can gather, really showed no compassion or statement of concern for those freezing their lives away while he sunbathed on the beach. Total absence of leadership and empathy.

5) Continuing with the above theme that any government that cannot protect it citizens is a failure, consider a unique and very dangerous situation out in California:

  • Liberal  politicians across the country spent the past years implementing “defund the police '' programs where they gutted their police force resources.

  • At the same time they degraded, verbally attacked, and did not support their local police organizations. 

  • These actions have resulted in higher crime, fewer criminal convictions, more dangerous cities, low police force morale, and extreme difficulty in hiring and retaining trained police officers.

  • As a result, citizens are dying, being robbed, and being raped in ever growing numbers as police forces are demoralized, under staffed,  and under resourced.

  • And now we have seen the extreme effects of all this defund the police nonsense.

  • In Tehama County in California, the county sheriff’s department has publicly announced that due to a “catastrophic staffing shortage throughout the agency,” the department will no longer patrol the streets and protect citizens during the day, only at night.

  • So if you are a local criminal, your chances of being caught for your criminal acts just got much smaller if you commit those acts during the day when there would be no sheriffs around to prevent your criminal actions.

  • In a statement the sheriff's department basically blamed the city’s politicians for insufficient funding which resulted in the inability to staff and function properly.

Good luck to Tehama county residents, during the day you are basically on your own.

Another day and another set of political class failures across the country, often with fatal results.

The Failure of The American Political Class To Provide a Basic Government Service: To Serve and Protect

We have often asserted that a very, very basic and important function of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the people it is in charge of. Failure to protect the lives and property constitutes a total failure of those politicians and bureaucrats in charge. No matter how well they perform other government functions they are still still a failure if they cannot deliver on this basic protection government premise.


And given what is going on around the country from a crime and homicide perspective, we have a lot of failures currently underway:


  • Through March 29 of this year, robberies involving a gun have gone up a whopping 44% compared to last year in Los Angeles.

  • According to the LAPD: “Over the course of this year, the Department has experienced an increase in robberies taking place in various communities in the City of Los Angeles. Most concerning is that there has been an increase in the levels of violence used during these robberies and the frequency in which a firearm was used.”

  • This year saw almost 2,000 total robberies vs. 1690 last year, an 18% increase.

  • 74% of the total robberies involved a firearm.

  • According to the LAPD chief: “There’s been a marked increase of armed robberies involving victims wearing expensive jewelry, as well as just other individuals whether they’re at commercial stores such as mini markets, convenience stores, gas stations, or on the street.” 

  • A lot of the violent crime increase has been blamed on city district attorney, George Gascon, for his timid handling of violent crime cases.

  • In fact, 97.9% members of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys for LA voted to support a recall of Gascon.


These numbers are just robberies, we have previously reported on the increase in bodily harm and homicides in the city. In fact, in a throwback to the old West, train robberies in the city are up 356% over the past year. You know that when train robbers are out of control, a city’s politicians and bureaucrats are total failures when it comes to protecting the lives and property of its citizens.


2) The failure of the politicians in Los Angeles to protect the lives and property of the city's citizens has not gone unnoticed by those citizens:


  • Apparently, wealthy homeowners in the city have started a trend of building “safe rooms” in their own houses to protect their families from the rampant criminal elements in the city and the possibility of home invasions.

  • According to Dean Cryer, the vice-president of international operations at Building Consensus/Panic Room Builders, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Our influx of inquiries has increased more than 1,000 percent over the past three months. … It’s gone insane. Hidden rooms are definitely trending right now. Building Consensus/Panic Room builds various safe spaces ranging in security levels from one through eight. Safe rooms at level three may be protected with Kevlar, while a level eight is encased in thick steel. Just the doors can be 2,000 to 3,000 pounds. And then we’re installing steel within the room. So, we’re generating up to 10,000 pounds in a room. … You could kit out a small closet for about $100,000, $150,000. And then it’s north of there. We’ve done one in London that had two rooms, full suites … and that was over a million dollars.”

  • For the wealthier residents of the LA area, having a safe room is now considered an asset in the selling of high end homes.

  • More insight from Mr. Cryer: “Within the room itself, you could be in there for up to 24 hours. I mean, it depends where you are in the world. And in most of L.A., you could be waiting a couple of hours before the police get to you. … We’ve even done bunkers and tunnels. We’ve done a project out in Malibu. They wanted a secret tunnel out to the beach. So they could escape, like a secret bunker.”


When residents feel it necessary to spend big bucks to protect themselves because they believe that the city politicians and government bureaucrats cannot, despite the high taxes, you have a failure of a basic  tenet of government, to protect.


3) In a previous post, we discussed the comment by the LA Sheriff's department that warned tourists not to come to Los Angeles because law enforcement could not guarantee their safety, that's how bad crime had become. In the previous point above, we discussed the reality that city residents, especially wealthy ones, have had to take expensive steps to protect their lives and their families by building safe rooms in their homes to combat the violent upsurge in crime.


That news was bad enough but now we find even worse news and the defeatist attitude to the politicians and bureaucrats running the city: the LAPD has officially warned residents not to wear jewelry while out in public in the city since that could make them the target of robbers. Specifically: “Over the last year there has been a marked increase of armed robberies involving victims wearing expensive jewelry while in public," an LAPD statement reads. "If it is visible, it can be a target.”


At least the politicians and bureaucrats who are failing to protect the lives and property of its residents are finally being honest about their failure to maintain a safe environment. 


4) Let’s move from Los Angeles to our favorite and most discussed criminally infested and most failed politicians in the city of Chicago:


  • In a recent weekend, 22 Chicago residents were shot and four of those shot died from their wounds.

  • This brought the total number of homicides in the city to 112 during the time period from January 1 to March 21.

  • At this rate over 500 people will be killed in Chicago this year.


But Chicago is not alone in this homicide race. By March 10, Philadelphia had experienced 100 homicides within its city limits. This comes on the heels of setting a homicide record in the city last year.


We all pay high taxes to the American political class and a large assumption in that payment of high taxes is that they will provide the necessary protection of our lives, our families, and our property. Unfortunately, that understanding is only being held up by one party, us, while the other party, politicians, fail miserably in this simple yet very important government tenet and responsibilities.

December, 2021, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Violence Across American Cities and Elitism Across the Rich and Famous

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) Too many times we have pointed out in this blog that a very, very fundamental job of government is to protect the lives and property of the citizens in their city or state. And just as many times we have discussed how poorly American politicians in office fulfill that very basic responsibility to protect lives and property.

And nowhere has this failure been so obvious and blatant than in Chicago:
  • For the first time in 27 years, the number of murders in Chicago’s Cook County will exceed 1,000 deaths.
  • You have to go all the way back to 1994 when the number of county murders was over 1,000, 1,141.
  • Since Chicago dominates Cook County, most of the murders have occurred with the city limits, about 77% so far this year.
  • So far there have been 1,009 homicides in the county vs. 968 in all of 2020.
  • And keep in mind that 1,009 is a year to date number so that the total number of 2021 murders is likely to go higher.
  • On the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving, 40 people were shot just that morning inside Chicago city limits.
  • Chicago mayor, Lori Lightfoot, continues to have no clue on how to fix the violence epidemic in the city, now blaming the pandemic for the violence: "There's no question that the COVID-related impact on the public safety system in Chicago, in New York, in L.A., D.C. and other cities across the country is real. And what we've got to continue to do is make sure that we're demanding of our courts and our prosecutors that they hold violent people accountable and keep them off our streets."
  • However, she fails to mention that violence was rising in the city before the pandemic and she fails to explain how the violence increase in Chicago is related to covid, what is the cause and effect link, a link that likely does not exist to any great extent.
  • She also fails to propose any detailed, common sense plans to fix the situation, instead talking about general issues like job creation, poverty, gangs, etc. with no concrete plans to actually address these top line issues.
Certainly another failure of a very, very basic function of government. Given that 81% of the homicide victims in the county are African Americans, the absence of Black Lives Matter in this matter is a telling tale that they really don't care that black lives are being killed at a greater and greater rate in the city.

2) A growing reality is coming to light across the country that those in charge, be they in government, the mainstream media, in entertainment, or high tech business do not care about ordinary Americans. These folks are so rich that they are able to insulate themselves from the issues and problems facing the vast majority of Americans today, be it higher and higher gas prices, food price inflation, the growing crime rate, higher and higher taxes paid for lower and lower government services, etc.

For example, take the current and disgusting retail crime wave affecting mostly California...so far. Gangs of young men descend on a retail store or mall and rampage through it, stealing merchandising, threatening and attacking customers and retail employees and causing tremendous financial losses to business owners.

It has been all over the news, including detailed and harrowing video of retail robbers going crazy. And yet, out of touch, again, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thinks it is all a hoax, that the retail ravaging gangs really don't exist, it is all fake.

And the lawlessness involved in the retail crime wave is spilling over to dangerous home invasions of not only the poor and middle class but also the rich who live in places in Beverly Hills. A famous socialite was recently shot to death in her Beverly Hills home during a home invasion and Oprah Winfrey finally came out with a comment about how bad the crime and violence is becoming in some American cities but only after the home invasion.

I do not recall her having anything to say when ordinary Americans, over 1,000, in the Chicago area were killed this year, the majority of which were also African American like herself. When a security guard was recently killed during a retail rampage in the Oakland area, I do not recall her having anything to say then either. But when one of her elite type friends is a victim, all of a suddenly she has something to say.

As gas prices and food prices have gone higher and higher during Biden’s first 11 months, members of his administration and members of the mainstream press have actually come out and say that inflation is good, it shows a strong economy. No, inflation is not good but since these administration people and mainstream media types are making far more money on their jobs than ordinary Americans, it's no surprise they are so tone deaf.

And then we come to the elitist and wealthy types living out by Montauk Long Island, New York:
  • Apparently the wealthy types that were driving along the coast of Long Island were not happy that they had their view interrupted by above ground power lines.
  • This was so upsetting to them that they convinced the local political class to spend $750,000 of taxpayer money to bury the power lines in order to give them a nicer view.
  • Newsday reported that over 2,000 linear feet of above ground power lines will be buried.
  • The median household income in the area where the lines will be buried is just under $100,000, about 30-40% above the nationwide median income average so one can see where the elitist feeling comes from.
I am sure that there are fewer than average homeless, hungry, and drug addicted people in the Montauk area. But I would bet there are some local people that are in need of shelter, food and drug addiction help. Thus, personally, I would think that the $750,000 spent on rich folks to give them better views could have been much better spent helping out local folks in need, those people that are not making almost $100,000 a year.

This is the kind of waste and petty things that happen when politicians are up for sale and the wealthy and elite in this country lose touch with what is happening to the overwhelming majority of Americans, from crime to inflation to the petty waste of taxpayer wealth.

3) Although Chicago has been the poster child for the failure of American politicians to provide that very basic function, protecting Americans Lives and property, there are plenty of other cities across the country where local politicians are also failing to provide that basic function:
  • At least a dozen U.S. cities have already set murder records for 2021 with three weeks yet to go in the year.
  • Not surprising, Chicago leads the nation with 739 murders through the end of November.
  • That homicide rate is up 3% vs. the high rate in 2020.
  • Philadelphia is doing a great job increasing the murders in that city, even having more murders than much larger cities, New York and Los Angeles.
  • Philly has had 521 murders through December 6 vs. 443 in NYC and 352 in LA.
  • The number of murders in Philadelphia is 13% higher than in 2020, a year that broke the previous record set in 1990.
  • Other cities that have set homicide records this year include Columbus, Indianapolis, Louisville, St. Paul, Portland, Tucson, Toledo, Baton Rouge, Austin, Rochester and Albuquerque.
  • Milwaukee and Minneapolis are close to setting their own records for annual homicides.
  • According to Captain Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department: "The community has to get fed up. We're extremely frustrated. It has to stop. I mean, it's worse than a war zone around here lately."
What a mess and the American political class, from Washington to the local city governing bodies apparently have no clue how to fulfill this basic government function: protect the lives and property of its citizens.

That will do it for today: elitists are still tone deaf to ordinary Americans’ struggles and many of those elitists in the political class have no solution for the ever increasing crime and violence in American cities.
