August, 2019, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Trouble In South Bend, Illegal Immigrant Rapes In North Carolina, and CNN Loses All Credibility

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We have often made the assertion and conclusion that Democrats/liberals care more about illegal immigrants who are illegally trying to enter the country than they do about Americans. There are millions of Americans who are homeless, hungry, drug addicted, and in need but these left leaning politicians only rant and rave about the plight of illegal immigrants, people got into their current situation via their own free will.

These Democrats and liberals also forget to care about American citizens who have been killed, injured, raped, and robbed by illegal immigrant criminals. Their view seems to be that only pure, innocent, nuclear families are trying to come across the border. As always, it is tough to figure out whether these politicians are too stupid to figure out that some very evil people are trying to enter this country or they actually believe this tripe of innocence.

Consider the situation that was recently reported by the Epoch Times website about what is happening to kids down in North Carolina:

• In an article by Charlotte Cuthbertson on July 17, 2019, during the past year and a half, in North Carolina alone, over 330 illegal immigrants have been charged with 1,172 child rapes and child sexual assaults.
• These numbers come from researcher James Johnson who tracks crime statistics for his website, North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement.
• And the numbers are probably worse than those listed since he has access to crime data from only 30 of the state’s 100 counties.
• He compiles these stats from original police reports and calling arresting law enforcement agencies to verify the immigration status of the alleged perps.
• Over the past six years, during an average month 34 illegal immigrants were charged with 151 counts of raping or sexually assaulting a child in North Carolina.
• Again, these numbers cover only 30% of the counties and do not include assaults that are never reported or investigated.
• In addition, if he cannot absolutely confirm that an illegal immigrant did the sexual assault then he does not report it as being done by an illegal immigrant which again likely results in lower estimates than actual assaults.
• Real life examples from his research include Jeremias Rafael Deleon-Sales who was arrested in Hanover County and charged with statutory rape of a 4- to 6-year-old child.
• Reyes Rivera-Zapata was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree statutory sex offense, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
• Ignacio Cortez Macedo was convicted in Mecklenburg County in April of three counts of forcible sex offense on a 13-year-old girl, among other charges.
• This past January, two illegal immigrants were charged with rape of a child under 6 years old; another was charged with 60 felonies, 14 counts of rape with an under-15-year-old and 19 counts of crimes against nature; another man was charged with molesting five girls aged between 4 and 12.

Presenting these numbers does not mean we need to stop all immigration. It does not mean that all immigrants, legal and illegal, are child molesters. It just reinforces the reality that some very bad and evil people want to get into this country and the type of evil they perpetuate is illustrated with these North Carolina numbers. 

So for those of you who want open borders and allow everyone into this country, consider how you would feel if you got a call from the local hospital or police that illegal immigrant Jeremias Rafael Deleon-Sales had raped your five your old daughter. This simple concept though seems to elude the meager grip on reality that most Democrats in Washington have, especially when it comes to illegal immigration. 

2) One of the best ways to protect a democracy like ours is to have a robust, independent, and unbiased free press. Such an institution can point out the corruption and undermining of freedom and force politicians to act lawfully and with integrity. When the integrity of the free press is questioned, it endangers the entire underpinning of a free republic like ours.

Which makes the following story from the Flag and Cross website quite distressing:

• John Salvatore wrote of a serious breach of integrity by CNN in an August 2, 2019 article.
• Apparently, CNN President Jeff Zucker once organized a breakfast meeting between Kamala Harris, Democratic candidate for President, and several New York City political power brokers.
• As head of a major news organization, this is NOT the type of action that the president of that news organization should be taking.
• In fact, Zucker actually admitted he should not be involved in this type of activity: “This is in fact, the first time I’ve ever done one of these, and that’s because I have a very, very strict policy because of my job. I’ve taken a position that I completely stay out of supporting candidates of any party and try to stay out of politics entirely.” 
• And yet he did it anyway, undercutting his credibility and the credibility of CNN of being impartial journalistic entities.

Thus, as we stated above, once a news organization loses its credibility, it not only undercuts its own viability but is biased reporting and actions undercut our very democracy.

But what is even worse, no other mainstream news organizations reported this blatant conflict of interest, this breaking of journalistic standards. Thus, by their implicit acceptance of his actions, they too are complicit in the undermining of democracy and the concept of a strong, unbiased free press.

3) It seems that a certain Democratic Presidential candidate for President has some possible corruption problems in his own backyard:

• Adam Casalino, writing for the Patriot Journal website on August 1, 2019, reported that FBI agents and St. Joseph (Indiana) police officers recently raided the offices of the South Bend Housing Authority.
• According to reporting by WBST, local residents claim that the Authority is very corrupt and that there is a history of the staff giving out Section 8 housing vouchers to friends and family and bypassing the housing needs of single mothers and homeless citizens. 
• According to the story, “Those Section 8 vouchers are only allowed, by law, to be given to qualifying recipients,” which I assume that definition does not automatically include friends and family.
• It turns out that Pete Buttigieg is not only the mayor of South Bend but also a Democratic candidate for President.
• Like any good politician, he tried to distance himself from the potential corruption claiming the Authority “is not a part of the City administration.”
• But in reality, the mayor appoints everyone who sits on the board of commissioners of the Authority and the report claims that Buttigieg was “very active” on matters related to the Authority.

As always, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But the FBI usually does not raid just anyone without at least some solid grounds of investigation and since the mayor and Presidential candidate appointed these potential lawbreakers to these positions, it should be interesting to see where this goes.

But it does get tiring that EVERYONE who resides in the American political class these days has at least a tinge/hint/aura of corruption and criminal behavior if not the outright reality of being a criminal. Which helps explain why major issues never get resolved: politicians are either trying to cover up their criminal behaviors, trying to explain it away, or are actually involved in criminal behavior, leaving little time for actual problem resolution.

Unfortunately, more insanity still to come.
