Biden's Failed Immigration Policies and the Death and Violence It Has Caused To Americans - Part 9

We have often discussed the reality that Biden’s border policies have been an unbelievable failure. Illegal drugs are flooding into the country, violent South and Central American gangs setting up shop in U.S. cities, and local city and state budgets are being adjusted so that illegal immigrants can be fed, sheltered, and given medical attention, stealing government services from American taxpayers.

But one particularly distressing and tragic result of Biden’s failed immigration policies is the danger that have befallen innocent Americans at the hands of violent illegal immigrants who never should have been admitted to the country. This is not to say there should be no immigration into this country. But there has to be a rigid screening process so that violent people do not get into the country and carry out heinous, often fatal, attacks on innocent Americans.

1)The deaths of Americans due to the actions of illegal immigrants comes in many forms:

Jose Aguilar-Martinez is a 21 year old illegal immigrant from El Salvador.
He allegedly stole the car of 54 year old American Melody Waldecker at a convenience store in Virginia.
Unfortunately for Ms. Waldecker, he then allegedly ran her over with her own car and killed her.
He had a California driver's license, one of the states that allow illegal immigrants to get a drivers license even though they have broken the law by illegally entering the country.
Ms. Waldecker had been in the area to visit her mom in a local nursing home, a visit that resulted in her death because she visited a nearby 7-11 store.
After running her over, he continued on without stopping and without pity, and eventually caused two more traffic accidents before he was arrested.
The illegal immigrant had previously been arrested for public intoxication.

Another day, another murdered American.

2)But it is not just American citizens that get in harm’s way of illegal activity by illegal immigrants:

Three illegal immigrants were recently shot outside an illegal immigration facility in Brooklyn.
Only one of those shot survived, the two other illegal immigrants died from their gunshot wounds.
A Venezuelan street gang called the Tren de Aragua are suspected in the shootings.
The gang is just one of 50 gangs identified by the Federal government that have infiltrated this country and are now operating their criminal activities around the nation.
In a case of typical politician denial, New York Attorney General, Letitia James, referred to the violence as “gun violence,” and not what it really was, illegal immigrant “gang violence.”

Violence knows no bounds, legal citizens vs. illegal immigrants, all suffering as a result of Biden’s failed border policies.

3)Let’s head up to Michigan:

25 year old American citizen Ruby Garcia, was found dead recently, in what was first described as a botched drunken carjacking.
An illegal immigrant from Mexico, Brandon Ortiz-Vite, is accused of murder in the case.
He is facing charges of homicide/open murder, carjacking, felony firearm, illegally carrying a concealed weapon, operating while intoxicated, and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Ms. Garcia’s body was found left on the side of the road, “riddled with bullets,” that Ortiz-Vite has allegedly told police he shot her numerous times as a result of “an argument.”
The New York Post reported that he had already been deported at least once when Trump was President but illegally re-entered the country.
His criminal background extends back to criminal activity in Michigan in 2017.

4) Speaking of Michigan, Brandon Ortiz-Vite’s murder of Ruby Garcia is having an affect back in Michigan, a state where he has had previously unlawful adventures:

Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer, is facing criticism over her support of a program called the “newcomer rental subsidy.”
Apparently, this state government program gives out taxpayer wealth to landlords who rent apartments to illegal immigrants.
The landlords can receive up to $500 a month if they rent to illegal immigrants.
The murder of Ruby Garcia by a former illegal immigrant who lived in Michigan has raised the criticism level of the program with critics pointing out that the program is weak in vetting out potential and real criminal elements.

It is fascinating that liberal leaning politicians go out of their way to make life easier for illegal immigrants, be it via housing, food, and medical support. But prior to the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies, those same politicians showed little or no concern for homeless and struggling Americans who apparently do not get any housing or rental support from Whitmer and this program. The support goes solely to illegal immigrants.

Enough for today: illegal immigrant gangs, illegal immigrants killing Americans, and illegal immigrants getting taxpayer wealth to make their lives easier.

February, 2022, Part 1, Political Class Insanity - Maxine Makes Her Daughter Rich, Whitmer Leaves Her Voters Behind, and Baltimore Schools Leave Their Kids Uneducated

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) We have always wondered how Washington politicians retire from office much, much richer than when they were first elected to office. Their increase in wealth cannot be explained simply by their Congressional or Presidential salaries.

But it is not just personal wealth that politicians increase while in office. Many of them also are able to increase the individual wealth of friends and family, as Congresswoman Maxine Walters seems to do so very well:

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports, Congresswoman Walters has managed to divert huge campaign contribution funds to her daughter’s company, Progressive Connections, for almost two decades.
Since 2003, FEC reports show that Karen Walters’ company has gotten about $1.2 million in payments for campaign related services for her mother.
The $1.2 million was used for such activities as “slate mailer management,” campaign managing services, and payment to a musical band for a holiday event.
But her daughter is not the only family living high off of the Congresswoman’s political career.
According to a LA Times article back in 2004, other family members had received over $1 million over the previous eight years.

This type of payment arrangement is not unlawful under FEC guidelines if the family members are providing legitimate services and those services are not in excess of the fair market value of those services. It is unknown if that is the case in this situation but the rule should be changed so that no family members are allowed to provide any services to a politician's campaign unless they are doing it for free. Then there is no question of integrity and conflict of interest like Ms. Walters seems to have raised so many times over the past two decades.

2) We have not been a big fan of the Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer, and her handling of the covid pandemic in her state. She seems to have gone way overboard in her (mostly failed) dictatorial decrees that restricted the economic ability and individual freedom of her citizens. And despite her dictates, she violated those very same decrees any number of times:

She was seen without a mask in at least one social situation where her own rules dictated she should be wearing a mask.
She strongly restricted Michigan residents the right to travel out of state but then tried to sneak out of state to visit her dad in Florida, a direct violation of her own rules that she got caught on.
And at the height of her restrictions, her husband tried to coerce a marina owner to let him take his boat out when his wife had banned anyone else from taking their boats out.

And her disregard for her own citizens continues:

Back in November, when her state, Michigan, led the country in new covid virus cases, had its state hospitalization levels hit near pandemic highs, and faced a shortage of covid tests, the good governor jetted off to California to raise campaign money for her reelection from rich Hollywood types.
She raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from private California fundraisers while her state citizens were under a renewed covid siege.
A Hollywood soap opera producer, Colleen Bell, helped Whitmer raise $78,000 at one fundraiser in LA.
The next day she raised $88,650 at two other fundraisers.
Two days later she raised another $56,600 from two Silicon Valley fundraisers.
Back in Michigan, meanwhile, covid inflicted labor shortages resulted in severely delayed ambulance response times for emergencies in her home state.
At the same time she was frolicking in California, Michigan was incurring 10% of the nationwide new covid cases while accounting for only 3% of the country’s population.

So we are really talking about a losing situation from three perspectives:

Her dictator policies were total failures in protecting her citizens relative to the rest of the country.
She apparently cared more about fundraising than her suffering population who were in the midst of a covid resurgence despite her draconian, and failed, covid policies.
On a more general, disgusting point, why should rich people in California be able to finance and influence an election halfway across the country in a state the most of them have probably never even been to?

This last point is a major point made in our book, “Love My Country, Loathe My Government.'' In a perfect world, no one in the country could contribute to any politician’s campaign unless that politician would represent them if elected.

Thus, only Michigan people should be allowed to contribute to a politician running for governor in Michigan. Conversely, no rich people in Michigan should be able to contribute to a California politician running for the U.S. Senate representing California. Disgusting that rich money from around the country can overwhelm the voices and welfare of local, ordinary citizens.

3) In total, all levels of government in this country spend about $124,000,000,000, $124 billion, in taxpayer money every a year on educating our kids. This comes out to about $22,000 per kid. That’s a lot of money in total and a lot of money per child.

Keep those numbers in mind when we tell you what the money is buying in the Baltimore school system:

A Balitomore city teacher has blown the whistle on the reality that 77% of high school kids in a Baltimore high school read at only an elementary school level.
The Balitomore city school where this teacher works has an annual budget of a hefty $12 million but graduates only 61% of its students.
His/her conclusion: “Our children deserve better. They really do. As a whole, the system has failed them.”
These dismal results are not made available to the public, despite the fact that the public pays for the education of these kids, but this teacher found a way to get the results out.
Underneath that pathetic 77% number, test results showed that 71 high school students read at the kindergarten level, 88 students read at the first grade level, and 45 were reading at a second grade level
Only 1.9% read at their high school level.
According to the teacher, the kids are pushed through to the next grade even if they are dismal educational failures.

Pretty disgusting results form the education profession. Now, I would think, hope, that these results are an outlier and not indicative of all schools. But overall, it is no secret that we severely under-educated our kids vs. the rest of the world when measured on standardized tests even though we pay far more per student to get these dismal results.

And I would bet that most of these kids that are underperforming are urban Afrcan-Amercan kids that will never attain their potential or escape poverty with this type of lowly education production. The brave teacher that spilled the beans sums up public government run schools perfectly: “It's heartbreaking. It's heartbreaking to see a child that, when you talk to them outside of the classroom setting, of what are your dreams? And they have these amazing dreams and hopes for the future. But then you realize that with the skills that they have, with the level that they're at, they're going to have to work a thousand times harder to achieve,” the teacher told Project Baltimore. “Our children need a future.”

Our children need a future and American taxpayers need a much better use of their education tax dollars. $124 billion a year has to be better spent than what we are getting from our government/public schools now.

That will do it for today: politicians make themselves rich AND their family members rich using taxpayer wealth, the Michigan governor continues to be a failure, and at least one Baltimore high school shows how poorly the American political class and the government schools they operate perform despite having over $124 billion to spend.

January, 2022, Part 8, Political Class Insanity: Covid Fraud Reaches Maybe $100 Billion, California Taxes Could Go More Crazy, And Whitmer Continues to Be a Failure

1) In our last post, we discussed a typical failure of the government and American politicians to protect the wealth of taxpayers when it comes to criminal fraud. An Oregon man conned the Federal government out of millions and millions of covid relief dollars. Fortunately, he was tracked down and plead guilty which led to prison time for him in addition to having to repay the millions of dollars he made off with.

In that post, we assumed that he was not the only person who was conning the Federal government out of covid relief dollars. And apparently we were right and the level of potential fraud is mind boggling:

The Secret Service feels that the covid relief fraud is so bad that it recently named a National Pandemic Fraud Recovery Coordinator to track down the criminals.
The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Secret Service effort to track down fraudsters, an effort that involves a whopping 900 separate investigations.
And these 900 potential fraudulent efforts may involve the Federal government sending out $100 BILLION inappropriately.
If true, that means that every American taxpayer lost about $1,000 each to criminal fraud in the covid relief programs.
And the fraud may have not been restricted to Americans, it is suspected that worldwide criminal enterprises also illegally profited by the Federal government’s inefficiency and stupidity.
So far, the Secret Service has only recovered a few billion dollars in fraud.

Another day, another billion, or 100 billion, dollars lost to fraud and government incompetence. Imagine how much better every taxpayer’s life would be if they had another $1,000 in their wallet. Imagine how many homeless Americans could have been fed or sheltered with that $100 billion. Imagine.

2) And despite continually wasting taxpayer money, the American political class, especially the ones in California, still want to take more and more of their citizens’ hard earned wealth:

The cost of living in California is already sky high with some of the highest tax burdens, highest utility bills and highest gas prices in the land.
The high cost of living is forcing thousands of residents and businesses out of the state to find places where they can keep more of their wealth.
And yet, California politicians do not understand this simple premise: higher and higher taxes equals fewer and fewer taxpayers.
A proposed law in the state legislature would install a so-called single payer health insurance process in the state which would DOUBLE the tax burden of every taxpayer in the state.
That is the conclusion of an analysis done by the Tax Foundation.
The study found that a typical California household would annually pay about $12,250 each to fund this single payer system.
These tax increases would result in an additional $163 billion a year in state government tax revenue, an alltime high.
The top marginal tax rate for the state income tax would be a whopping 18.05%.
The median rate across the country is less than one third of this new proposed rate.
Given that the top marginal tax rate for Federal income taxes is 37%, a high earner in California would be about 55% of their income to just cover state and Federal income taxes.
They would pay additional taxes for property taxes, Social Security and Medicare taxes, gas taxes, etc.
It would probably not be a stretch to say that high earners in California would be paying over 70% of their income in taxes under this new law.
Which means that high earners would be fleeing the state even faster, reducing state government tax revenue even faster which would require more tax rate increases to cover the out of control spending which would drive more people out of the state and the financial death spiral is now in action.
The law would also increase the state payroll tax paid by employers and would put in place a 2.3% gross receipts tax on businesses which would drive more businesses out of the state or out of business.

Unbelievable that grown men and women who happen to be politicians can be that stupid. People and businesses are not going to stay in the state and become economic slaves, handing over 70% of what they earn to the state and Federal governments. The financial death spiral is imminent and these folks in the state legislature obviously don't know what havoc and destruction they are about to bring to the state.

3) Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan, was one of the most despotic and hypocritical governors in the entire country as it applied to the covid pandemic. She imposed draconian and unnecessary restrictions on Michigan residents and businesses while her husband and she tried to and actually violated the very restrictions she put in place.

And the sad part of her dictatorial approach is that Michigan has constantly had some of the highest covid infection rates in the country, meaning that her approach did not protect her citizens as well as other governors while crushing the state economy and businesses in that state.

However, there was recently a bit of good news out of Michigan as a business owner decided that freedom was better than living under a dictator of a governor, fought the government bureaucracy and won the battle:

The owner of the Iron Pig Smokehouse, Moore Murphy Hospitality LLC, sued Whitmer and the state of Michigan in order to save his business.
Otsego County Judge, Colin Hunter, agreed with the Smokehouse and ruled in favor of the restaurant.
The lawsuit started when Whitmer declared that no state restaurant could serve customers inside their restaurants and limited outdoor dining also.
For a while, the Smokehouse ignored the governor’s decrees and ended up getting multiple citations and incurring heavy fines.
The lawsuit alleged that Whitmer did not have the legal authority to unilaterally impose the shutdowns and restrictions:“In order to have the full force and effect of law, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services emergency order must draw its authority from a lawful delegation of power.”

A little good news about freedom, a concept that has taken an unnecessary beating from overreaching and hypocritical politicians. Hopefully, freedom decisions like this will start cropping up around the country.

4) Speaking of Whitmer:

Whitmer was one of the Democratic governors who decided to stick covid infected senior citizens into nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the country, a fatal decision that resulted in a tremendous amount of unnecessary deaths.
A recent audit by the state auditor found that Whitmer’s administration probably under reported the number of nursing home deaths by a whopping 30%.
30% represents thousands of lives, many of whom died unnecessarily because of the faulty decision to house covid senior citizens with healthy senior citizens.
Another news report claims that the under count was 42% based on information that the state's health department was required to produce.

So, people unnecessarily died because of Whitmer, and other governors’ stupid decision, and then Whitmer, like New York’s Governor Cuomo, under reported the deaths due to their ineptness in order to make their bad decisions look less bad. Not surprising, bad politicians making bad decisions and then lying about their fatal actions.

That will do it for today: billions of covid relief dollars probably lost to fraud and government incompetence, California politicians are economic idiots, and Gretchen Whitmer lies about covid and loses in court.
