October, 2017, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Hillary Clinton's Continued Greed, The Preventable Las Vegas Tragedy, and Medicare's Fiscal Insanity

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

1)Readers of this blog know that we have never been big fans of Hillary Clinton, either as Secretary of State, Presidential candidate, or human being. She lies, she is greedy, and is likely a criminal who has just not been prosecuted. A recent article by Joe Schoffstall, writing for the Washington Free Beacon on October 1, 2017, gave us another reason not to like her:

According to Mr. Schoffstall, Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign apparently has not returned or donated to charity more than $5,000 that it received from a former co-owner of a website that has been linked to underage prostitution.
The donation came from a major person involved with Backpage.com which is an online classified website that may have connections to child prostitution.
Jim Larkin used to be a co-owner of that website and gave the Hillary Victory Fund campaign $5,400 on July 26, 2016 that was then transferred to the Hillary For America campaign committee.
A search of the Federal Election Commission records shows that the money was not returned or donated to a charity.
And Hillary cannot claim ignorance since a number of other Democratic politicians, mostly in Arizona, have returned the poisoned money they received, from both Larkin and the other co-owner of the site, Michael G. Lacey, after the child prostitution allegations became public.
David Garcia, once a Democratic Party candidate for governor of Arizona, disposed of his Backpage donations by donating the money to homeless youth and victims of sex trafficking.
Other Arizona politicians have done similar things to rid themselves of these donations including Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick who is donating her tainted money to the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence.
According to the article: “The controversy surrounding Backpage.com spilled over after Arizona State University partnered with the Phoenix Police Department and found that 80 percent of the postings on the adult section portion of the website involved prostitution. More than 900 ads were found in the Phoenix area alone, including advertisements for underage girls.”
The article goes into detail on how Congress and law enforcement have been investigating and detailing the misdeeds of this website and its owners and operators, making almost impossible for HIllary Clinton and her people not to know what type of people have donated to their campaign.

And yet, not surprisingly given Hillary’s penchant for greed regardless of the source and ramifications, the Backpage money she received is still with her campaign even though other, less well known politicians have done the right thing with the donations they received. Insane.

2) Everyone is probably aware of the tragic and senseless mass murder that happened recently in Las Vegas. It is very difficult to explain how someone would go to the trouble and effort that the shooter went to to kill innocent people. Horrible.

One of the reasons the carnage is so great is that the shooter used what is called “bump stocks” which turns a semiautomatic rifle, one in which the trigger has to be pulled for every bullet fired, into an automatic weapon in which the trigger only has to be pulled once to continuously shoot bullets. This allowed the shooter to shoot thousands of bullets with minimal pulling of a trigger, making the death and wounding so much easier and horrific. This allowed the shooter to get around long standing laws that prohibit the possession of automatic weapons.

Adding to the tragedy is that the political class and the Federal government were aware of bump stocks years ago and did nothing to outlaw them or ban them:

In fact, back in 2010, during the Obama administration, the ATF actually approved the sale of bump stocks.
According to a Conservative Fighter website article: “The ATF approved the devices because they do not convert a semiautomatic rifle into an automatic. Rather, they are an accessory that allows semiautomatic rifle owners to mimic automatic fire for short bursts.”
The Washington Post has reported that the ATF official, Rick Vasquez, who signed off on the approval to sell bump stocks called them “a goofy, little doodad.”
The feeling was that the use of bump stocks results in highly inaccurate aiming and firing and makes weapons jam more easily, at least according to Vasquez: “[Bump stocks are] for those guys who want to look like super ninja when they’re out on the range — they’re the people my peer group makes fun of. If you want a machine gun, join the Marines.”

How did Vasquez and others in charge not anticipate is that the Las Vegas shooter did not have to be accurate with his use of a bump stock? There were over 20,000 people packed into a very small area so just firing in the general direction of a large crowd was going to cause a lot of casualties.

This scenario apparently never entered the minds of those in charge of our safety. As a result almost 60 Americans are dead and hundreds have been injured as a result of another government failure to keep us safe.

3) The Federal government’s total debt load has recently passed a whopping $20 TRILLION. Unless something is done soon to reign in runaway government spending, the entire financial system will collapse when the debt becomes too much for the Federal government and American taxpayer to pay off.

Some of the main drivers of the overwhelming debt load is the fact that Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare are out of control government spending programs. Politicians have made promises via these programs that were never fiscally sound to begin with.

This reality was somberly pointed out in an article in the Weekly Standard’s January 13, 2017 issue. According to the article, by 2030, a high earning American married couple will receive almost $360,000 in lifetime Medicare insurance benefits. But on average that couple would have paid into the Medicare program just over $180,000 during their lifetimes.

No financial arrangement will ever endure if the money it is eventually going to pay out is twice the money it collects for payouts. As the article points out, the American political class has come up with a program, Medicare, that it sold as social insurance but is in actuality, a social welfare program. Promising twice as much than what is collected by a two to one margin is surely the most direct route to bankrupting the country.

That will do it for today’s insanity: a government program that is fiscally insane, a Federal government that pooh poohed a weapon that has resulted in dozens of dead Americans and hundreds of wounded Americans, and the greed of Hillary Clinton continues unabated.

October, 2017, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: More Celebrity Political Drivel , More Scandals at the VA, and More

1) If there is a group of people less in touch with the issues and realities facing Americans than our politicians it is probably Hollywood performers. Seems everything that they tweet or say is nonsense which only reinforces the reality that they are so out of touch with the real world.

So it was no surprise when C-List performer and comedian Amy Schumer recently put her foot in her mouth when she claimed during a BBC interview that Americans who do not like Hillary Clinton are just “uninformed.” Ms. Schumer, maybe you misinterpret “uninformed” with “informed” about the following Hillary realities:

Maybe non-Hillary supporters are aware that she condoned, abetted, and protected her sexual predator husband for decades, maybe they did not want a sexual predator back roaming the halls of the White House.
Maybe non-Hillary supporters are aware that she cannot be trusted with vital information as the President since she obviously could not be trusted to guard and protect classified information when she was Secretary of State.
Maybe non-Hillary supporters did not trust her because she deleted over 30,000 emails from an illegal and unsecured computer server and used a specific program to make sure those emails stayed deleted and were untrackable.
Maybe non-Hillary supporters looked at her Senate record and found that in her entire tenure she was able to get only three pieces of legislation passed that she was a primary sponsor of, especially since one of the three named a post office and another of the three named a highway.
Maybe they looked at her hypocrisy of being critical of Wall Street banks in public but supportive of them in private, especially when they gave you very rich speaking fees.
Maybe they were just tired of her lies, from the true cause of the Benghazi attack (it was NOT some obscure video) to her landing under fire when visiting Bosnia (you did NOT land under fire) to saying all of her grandparents were immigrants (they were NOT), etc.

No, Ms. Schumer, there was plenty about Hillary to be informed about. Given the partial list of information above, maybe YOU are the uninformed one.

2) Seattle tends to be a very Democratic and liberal city politically. George Will. writing for the National Review website on September 27, 2017, pointed out a number of reasons why that is not the brightest thing to be:

Mr. Will pointed out that the city political class recently passed a tax law that put a $1.18 city tax on each bottle of two liter soda sold within the city limits. This is supposed to reduce the amount of sugary drinks that city residents purchase and thus somehow reduce obesity.
However, we have previously reported in this blog that when other cities (e.g. Philadelphia) tried this method of taxing its residents into health, it failed miserably since city residents just drove out of town to purchase the now much cheaper soda, they incurred more carbon emissions by doing so (something that liberal politicians hate), and this behavior helped wreck the financials of small and large grocers within the city limits who not only lost soda sales but other food sales when people did their soda and grocery shopping elsewhere which increased city unemployment.
Seattle previously had ordered that the minimum wage in the city be raised over time to $15 an hour, a move that has resulted in businesses closing and people being laid off or their hours reduced because employers cannot afford this minimum wage dictate.
The city politicians did this anyway despite the reality that a published study they requested from the University of Washington to justify their minimum wage move actually proved that it would an economic disaster: “[the study] concluded that the costs to low-wage Seattle workers have been three times larger than the benefits. Using a richer trove of data and more sophisticated statistical methods than have been available for other studies of minimum wages, the report concluded that Seattle’s still-advancing increase has cost more than 5,000 jobs, and that workers whose wages were increased to comply with the new minimum lost an average of $125 a month as employers reduced their hours.”
Despite these clear cut findings, the local politicians went ahead with the minimum wage increase anyway with the predicted study results actually occurring.
Undeterred by the negative fallout of their economic ignorance, the city politicians installed a city income tax, a move that is clearly both in violation of current Washington state law and constitution and common sense since we have shown in this blog a number of times that raising taxes quite often results in LESS tax revenue since people most affected by the higher or new tax rates just leave the district where the higher or new tax rate is being applied.

Must be great living in the city of Seattle where political common sense and economic realities are a very rare commodity, which, unfortunately, is detrimental to Seattle residents and businesses.

3) We have reported many times in this blog how the Veterans Administration (VA) has miserably failed in serving the health needs of our armed forces veterans. Our veterans have died and suffered because the VA has been so inept during the Obama administration in getting them the proper medical care they were promised and which they deserve.

And things have not gotten much better even though the Trump administration has promised and tried to improve VA performance:

According to a recent Washington Examiner article, hundreds of thousands of veterans are still waiting over a month to get an appointment at a VA facility.
VA documents found that there are currently over 184,520 veterans across the country who have waited over a month to get an appointment to see a VA doctor and 45,000 have waited over 90 days to get a medical appointment.
In addition, there are a whopping 479,239 veterans waiting for physician requested follow up appointments who have waited over 30 days.
In the Phoenix VA facility there are 3,328 local veterans who have waited over 30 days for care.
Which is really scary since you would think and hope that if any VA facility would be operating efficiently it would be that one since it suffered through the scandal of at least 293 veterans dying before they could get VA care several years ago. Obviously, the embarrassing scandal did nothing to kick start improvements there.

Two very distressing points here. First, it continues to be sad and depressing that the Federal government via the VA continues to be such an inefficient, taxpayer wasting, veteran killing operation.

Second, politicians like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren think that allowing the Federal government and Washington political class to take over the medical and health care of ALL Americans via a single payer health insurance system is somehow a good idea. How many Americans do we think such a system would kill via long waiting lists if the government’s operation of the VA is any indication of what a total, single payer Federal government health care system would bring to the masses?

Imagine how much sicker you would be if you had to wait over 30 days just to see a doctor, the situation that our veterans face today. Imagine how much sicker you would be if you had to wait over 90 days to see a doctor, the plight of 45,000 veterans today. Insanity.

That will do it for today’s insanity: our veterans continue to suffer at the hands of the government and the politicians that operate it, Seattle liberals have no common sense, and who really cares what celebrities think. More insanity sure to follow.

October,2017, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: A Delusional Hillary, A Major Taxpayer Win and The United Nations's Bad Priorities.

1) It is not just the American political class that is insane, inane, and incompetent, working on issues that will make no one’s life any better. The folks at the United Nations also do a great job at doing nothing and having screwed up priorities. According to a September 26, 2017 article on the Fix This Nation website:

Apparently the United Nations has recently told Canada that it needs to pay reparations for slavery that ended over 150 years ago.
The United Nations Human Rights Council has told Canada to “apologize for black slavery and pay reparations for their role in the slave trade and other forms of “anti-black racism.” In a report that was published this week, the special UN group said this about Canada’s current systemic racism:“History informs anti-black racism and racial stereotypes that are so deeply entrenched in institutions, policies and practices, that its institutional and systemic forms are either functionally normalized or rendered invisible, especially to the dominant group.”
Seriously? Canada did not become a self governing country until after Britain had banned slavery.
Canadians were active participants in operating the Underground Railroad that helped get runaway slaves to freedom in Canada.
No one involved in Canadian slavery is still alive so who is going to get the reparations?
Christians and other minority religion adherents are being murdered and enslaved across the Middle East and this is what the UN is working on, 150 years after the fact?
Women in dozens of Arab and other countries are repressed and denied basic freedoms and liberties and this is what the UN is working on 150 years after the fact?
There is a huge refugee problem in the Middle East and this is what the UN is working on 150 years after the fact?
But it gets even worse since not only does the UN want Canadians to pay reparations, it wants them to also erect monuments to the preserve the history of slavery: “It is important to underline that the experience of African Canadians is unique because of the particular history of anti-black racism in Canada,” the report says. It recommends that the Canadian government “take concrete steps to preserve the history of enslavement and the political, social and economic contributions of African Canadians by establishing monuments in their honour.”

It is impossible to predict what politicians and bureaucrats will do to make themselves look busy and important, creating stupid issues that do not exist while ignoring real issues that negatively affect millions of people. Such insanity.

2) One of the dozens of campaign promises that Obama made, all of which never came true, was that he was going to go through the Federal government budget “line by line” to ferret out wasteful spending. Noble gesture but non-follow up. Under his leadership, the Federal debt almost doubled from $10 TRILLION to an amazing and dangerous $20 TRILLION.

One of the most wasteful spending entities in the entire Federal government, the Pentagon, has such screwed up financial systems that trained auditors threw their hands up in frustration when they tried to audit the Pentagon's books, that is how screwed up they were. Obama did nothing that would have helped fix a dysfunctional Pentagon or any other Federal agency when it comes to wasting taxpayer wealth despite his promise to get rid of wasteful spending.

A prime example of how the Federal government wastes taxpayer money, both under Obama and previous administrations, was outlined in a recent article on the Occupy Deplorables website by Kirsty Jane on September 23, 2017.:

Traditionally, submarine periscopes have relied on clunky hard to find and use expensive joysticks/hand grips.
The Navy’s most advanced submarines, Virginia class, are equipped with so-called photonic hand grips that are made by Lockheed Martin and cost the American taxpayer about $38,000 each.
These hand grips are designed for use only on Virginia class submarines and would be impossible to replace in an emergency.
To someone’s credit somewhere in the Navy, the Navy asked some junior officers what could be done to make their life easier and a consistent complaint was the clunky hand grips.
That led to a little research and it was found that hand controllers from a standard X-Box video game system worked just as well as the $38,000 custom made, clunky hand grips and and the X-Box controllers sold for only about $30.
Not only is the X-Box controller ridiculously less expensive than the current handgrips, but if they break a replacement is easily obtained from the local toy or electronics store.
In addition, since many current Navy personnel grew up playing video games on their own X-Box systems, training costs are also greatly reduced.

There Mr. Obama, was that so hard? A price reduction from $38,000 to $30 in the blink of an eye? How many other thousands of opportunities to save taxpayer wealth exist throughout the gigantic Federal bureaucracy and you could not come up with a single one despite your promise to go through the Federal budget line by line? Pathetically insane.

3) Yesterday, we discussed the insult and condescension that Michelle Obama heaped on American women who voted for Donald Trump last November. But she is not the only Democrat/liberal to blame others, and blame them in a truly insulting way, for Hillary’s defeat to a first time candidate. Hillary herself got into the blame game, finding someone else to blame for her humiliating loss last November.

According to Hillary, over 30 million American women voted for Donald Trump because they were too weak to stand up for themselves, that they allowed the men in their lives, their husbands, their brothers, their boyfriends, to force them to vote for Trump and not her. How much more insulting can you be to the women in this country to outright state that they are scared of the men in their lives and too afraid to vote for whom they want to vote for, obviously Hillary. Not a good way to win friends and influence people, calling them stupid and weak.

Hillary, lets put forth just a few reasons why these women may have voted for Trump and not you:

Given that you have condoned, abetted, and protected your sexual predator husband for decades, maybe they did not want to a sexual predator back roaming the halls of the White House.

Yeah, Benghazi lies, other lies, rich speaking fees from bankers, an obscenely poor Senate record, deletion of emails, illegal and unsecure computer server, a sexual predator husband, they had nothing to do with your defeat. It was strictly 30 million American women being subservient to their male masters. Give me a break from your pure insanity.

October, 2017, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: The Clinton Crime Syndicate Goes Into The Next Generation, Michelle Obama Calls Millions Of American Women Stupid and More

1) Liberals and Democrats are always bragging how tolerant they are, how they respect others’ opinions even if they differ from theirs. We have proven dozens of times in this blog that this is a fable, a myth, but that does not stop Democrats and liberals from continuing to tell themselves that they are tolerant and then promptly stick their foot in their mouths.

This latest example of tolerance hypocrisy came from former First Lady Michelle Obama. Speaking at a conference in Boston, she declared that, “Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice.” She went on to say that women voting for Trump were justing going along with the pack, i.e. women who voted for Trump were too stupid to think for themselves and vote for whom they wanted.

But her condescension got even worst: “That we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, ‘He’s better for me. His voice is more true to me.’ To me that just says, you don’t like your voice. You just like the thing you’re told to like.” Again, a second inference that if you voted for Trump you are too stupid to think for yourself, that you are weak as a woman and as a human being.

How much more anti-woman can you be, telling millions and millions of women that they were too weak and stupid and cowardly to vote for the person that Michelle wanted them to vote for? Total lack of respect.

Hey, Michelle, let me put forth a counter argument: maybe the women that voted for Trump could not see themselves voting for a candidate who protected, condoned, and abetted a sexual predator husband for decades and who did not want that sexual predator to return to the White House as representative of their views. By voting for Hillary, maybe you are the one that did not listen to “your voice” and supported the continuation of a sexual predator alliance.

2) Richard Pollock, writing for the Daily Caller website on September 27, 2017, exposed another little piece of corruption from the Clinton crime syndicate, an effort that was in full force during Hillary’s time as Secretary of State which resulted in many government favors and advantages being available for the right price and the right advantage to the Clinton family and family friends:

A company headed up by one of Chelsea Clinton’s best friends was able to land $11 million in Federal government contracts from a high secret Department of Defense think tank without ever having received official approval and clearance to handle classified and secret government materials.
Jacqueline Newmyer, a long term best friend of Chelsea Clinton, is president of a firm called the Long Term Strategy Group which has received government contracts from the secret DOD think tank, the Office Of Net Assessment.
The Office Of Net Assessment is so top secret that it reports directly to the Secretary of Defense.
Ten years after having worked for the Office Of Net Assessment, the Long Term Strategy Group is only now going through the process for getting proper security clearance even though the company never had a secure physical room or facility to handle top secret DOD materials.
Adam Lovinger, a whistleblower and 12 year veteran of the Office Of Net Assessment, has been sounding the alarm to this security weakness of the Long Term Strategy Group, obviously to no avail.
As we stated, Chelsea Clinton and Newmyer are long term, best friends and government emails show her mom Hillary Clinton actively promoting Newmyer’s company in getting DOD contracts despite lack of security clearance.

Just another example of how Hillary Clinton was in business as Secretary of State to take care of herself, her family, her friends, and anyone who had the resources to satisfy her and her cronies.

Oh, and by the way, Adam Lovinger has been under tremendous pressure and hassles from people in the government for daring to speak the truth about the Long Term Strategy Group and the Office of Net Assessment. He has had his security clearance revoked which is pretty ironic that for pointing the reality that Newmyer’s group did not have a security clearance he got his revoked. However, given the Clinton’s reputation for reprisal, he should thank the stars that was the only thing he lost.

3) Another high ranking and idiotic government employee recently had to resign for his inane behavior. According to Fred Lucas, writing for the Daily Signal website on September 29, 2017:

Tom Price, Trump’s Health and Human Services Cabinet Secretary recently resigned.
Price had come under justifiable heat for using private charter jets to get around the country and the world.
According to Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Sanders: “Secretary of Health and Human Services Thomas Price offered his resignation earlier today and the president accepted. The president intends to designate Don J. Wright of Virginia to serve as acting secretary, effective at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2017. Mr. Wright currently serves as the deputy assistant secretary for Health and director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.”
Price had taken private charter plane rides to nearby locations like Philadelphia which were certainly within a short train ride or car ride of D.C.
He also used private jets to take international trips, all on the taxpayer dime.
Price has offered to pay more than $51,887.31 of his own money to cover some of these taxpayer incurred expenses.

While this type of behavior is not right and it is appropriate for Price to pay back the taxpayers, the article correctly points out the hypocrisy of Democrats who criticized Price’s behavior: “During the Obama administration, a 2013 Government Accountability Office report found a similar problem, in this case, by the Justice Department. Two luxury jets the FBI had said were needed for security against global terrorism were used instead by Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Robert Mueller. Holder’s predecessors in the George W. Bush administration, Attorneys General Michael Mukasey and Alberto Gonzales, also used the jets. It came at a total cost of $11.4 million, the GAO found.” I am assuming none of those costs were paid back.

But Holder was not done abusing American taxpayers. In 2014, he took a government owned Gulfstream jet and took his family up to New York to view the Belmont stakes horse race. The trip cost the American taxpayer $14,440 but Holder decided he only needed to pay back $995. At least Price’s trips were on official government business. Also, Obama’s CIA Director, Leon Panetta, paid back only $630 for luxury jet trips he took that cost the taxpayer $32,000.

Price should have never taken the trips in luxury private jets and charged the taxpayers. He did the noble and right thing in resigning and paying back a large portion of the expenses he incurred. That was a lot more than what Obama officials did, taking luxury jets trips, at least once for pleasure, paying back only a fraction of the cost, and not resigning.

That will do it for today’s insanity: Michelle Obama dissing woman’s intelligence who dares to disagree with her, the Clinton Crime syndicate extending down into the next generation, and misuse of government funds, now and then. We are just getting warmed up, more insanity in the coming days.
