October, 2021, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: Pelosi Goes Stupid yet Again, Defunding The Police Fails In Another City , And More AMTRAK Deaths

Before we get to today’s insanity, please consider the following proposition: as many of you know, the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a historic and fatal endeavor. But the failure did not start just in the past few weeks, it has been a twenty year disaster. It has cost American taxpayers about a trillion dollars, has left thousands of our brave armed forces folks dead, maimed, or wounded and has resulted in an unknown but substantial number of civilian deaths.

Afghanistan has been a collective failure of multiple Presidential administrations and multiple sessions of Congress. Thus, please consider signing the petition below that calls for the immediate resignation of every member of Congress that has at least twenty years of service and the resignation of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and critical, and failed, members of the Biden Administration. They do not deserve to serve any longer given their miserable twenty year track record of death, destruction and waste in Afghanistan.

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) Eight months into the Biden Presidency and most people would agree he has already made a mess of everything:

• His withdrawal from Afghanistan was a debacle, resulting in unnecessary injuries and deaths to over two dozen US service people.
• His horrible withdrawal plan left thousands of Americans and green card holders behind at the mercy of the horrific Taliban killers.
• Inflation is at its highest level in over ten years and he has no plans to fix the problem of escalating prices and, in fact, his policies will make inflation even worse.
• He has created a humanitarian, covid, drug cartel, human trafficking, criminal gang, and juvenile abuse crisis at the southern border.
• He has emboldened our enemies, Russia, China, North Korea and Iran, while insulting and alienating our allies, England, France, South Korea, etc.
• He cannot carry on an adult conversation without getting confused and disoriented, just one symptom of his cognitive decline.
• He is not allowed to talk to the press unless the time in front of journalists is short, structured and fake.
• The national debt continues to go higher and higher while current problems facing the country are no closer to being resolved than they were eight months ago.

Which gets us to the old age question when it comes to American politicians: are politicians actually that dumb when they say so much stupid stuff or do they think we are too dumb to know when they are saying stupid stuff? This brings us to the latest dumb stuff said by Nancy Pelosi, in the context of the many Biden failures listed above: “Let me just say about our president, President Biden…President Biden is…It’s so…we’re so fortunate that he did not win for president before when he ran because we needed him now. He’s perfect for now. He knows his foreign policy, he was chair of the foreign policy committee he’s been…extends the hands of friendship to friend and foe alike in order to have communication…He understands the value of that, he is…he knows and is known by most leaders.”

Seriously? Does she actually believe this idiocy or does she think we are too dumb to realize how bad Biden is? Biden’s accomplishment from over 40 years in Washington is minuscule. Robert Gates, Obama's Secretary of Defense, once said that Biden "has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." Obama once said: "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f... things up."

And it looks like both Gates and Obama were right. France is ticked off at us, one of our strongest allies. Many members of Britain's political class correctly think that Biden has no ability to reason or lead. China is making threatening moves against Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

Seriously? Inflation is growing worse everyday. The Federal government’s spending is out of control. Biden left hundreds, if not thousands ,of people behind in Afghanistan, at the mercy of the cut throat Taliban. In the process of doing so, he turned the Taliban into one of the best equipped armies in the world, courtesy of the American taxpayer.

Maybe, just maybe, Pelosi, the third in leadership ranking of the country, is also in the same type of cognitive decline that Biden is experiencing. Here’s one description of Pelosi, "Pelosi looks and sounds like she’s had a severe stroke. Her words are slurred, her face looks drawn, and she’s making some of the strangest hand movements ever…even by her standards.”

Again, do American opticians actually believe the dumb stuf they say or do they think we are dumb enough to believe the tripe they peddle? In any case, the leadership of this country is in dire straits.

2) Far too many times we have discussed the fiasco that the “defund the police” movement turned out to be. By stripping away police resources across the country in mostly liberal/Democrat run cities, the crime rate and criminal violence has skyrocketed. Murder rates are up, felony crimes are up, people are being killed because of the whole defund movement, while politicians have used taxpayer money to pay for personal armed guards for themselves while exposing their constituents to violent increases in crime.

Washington DC is no exception to the this failed and fatal experiment in defunding the police:

• Washington DC has traditionally had some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country.
• It has also been one of the most violent cities in the country over the years despite the city’s strict gun control laws.
• In 2019, the city ranked 13th nationally when it came to the homicide rate per 100,000 residents.
• Their homicide rate did not get any help when the city joined the defund the police movement.
• As a result, a recent local newscast from Fox 5 found that city residents are more than ever trying to acquire gun permits to protect themselves and their families against the upsurge in criminal violence in the city, an upsurge that raised the city homicide rate 12% in the past year.
• John Ayala, a certified firearms instructor and the owner of Archangel Security and Training in DC has found that: "A lot of women … especially African American women coming to us, asking us to train them. And this is because there’s been a lot of women getting shot in D.C. We just had one yesterday down Congress. So because of that, the women feel that they have to protect themselves."
• The numbers verify his experience since the number of people applying for gun permits in the city is up about 150% over the same time last year.

There was no way defunding the police was going to be a good idea without a proven, existing way to handle crime as an alternative. As a result, violence is up and citizens are not as stupid as their elected officials: they will protect themselves and their families even if their local politicians cannot. They will either move out of violent areas for their safety or take steps to do what the local government cannot do, provide protection.

We have always claimed that a very, very basic function of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the people they serve. No matter how well they execute other government services, they are a failure if they cannot protect the lives and property of their citizens.

3) AMTRAK has been a disaster from a profitability perspective for decades. Why anyone thought that the Washington political class and the bureaucrats it oversees could actually run an efficient and profitable railroad system is beyond me. Washington cannot run anything efficiently and effectively so no surprise that AMTRAK has been a financial disaster for taxpayers since the beginning.

But it has also been fatal for any number of its customers over the years:

• An AMTRAK train going from Seattle to California was once stuck for days in Oregon after it reportedly hit a tree.
• Only a Federal government run railroad could break down because it somehow hit a tree.
• An AMTRAK train once crashed into a freight train in South Carolina that resulted in two AMTRAK riders being killed and at least 70 other riders being injured.
• In December, 2017, an AMTRAK train derailed in Washington state, smashing through an overpass onto Interstate 5, killing three people and injuring dozens.
• In early 2018, an AMTRAK train carrying Republican members of Congress to a retreat in West Virginia hit a garbage truck in Virginia, killing one of the three occupants in the vehicle.

And the carnage recently continued anew:

• An AMTRAK train recently derailed in Montana, leaving several train cars off the track and on their sides.
• Unfortunately, three riders died in the accident.
• Fifty riders were injured.

One wouldn't think that a train system could kill and maim so many of its riders. It is not like a plane crashed from 30,000 feet going several hundred miles an hour. A train is on a track that is on the ground likely going under 100 miles an hour. But leave it to the Federal government to muck up the simplest of tasks, running a train system that costs way too much to operate and even high, high expenses cannot keep it running safely.

That will do it for today: AMTRAK continues to kill, maim, and waste money, defunding the police movement fails in yet another city, and Pelosi goes stupid yet again.

August, 2019, Part 3, Politicians Say The Darndest Things: More Joe Biden, More Ocasio-Cortex, More Stupidity and Idiocy

We have done previous posts under the theme of “politicians say the darndest things.” These posts highlight the idiocy and inane comments that American politicians actually say out loud, which makes us question how broken our political processes have become that people in powerful positions can be so inept and stupid.

Nancy Pelosi has usually been the star of these posts, having said some of the most out of touch and inane things that any politician has said. 

1) Okay, the last two posts in this theme were dedicated to stupid and delusional things that Joe Biden has said over time and recently. I thought we were done with his inane comments after those two posts but let me sneak in a late breaking misquote from him.

The G7 economic conference just ended over in France. It is a get together of the seven largest western economic powers and their leaders to discuss trade, economic policies, etc. It has been in the news for the past couple of weeks and it happens every year, even during the time Biden was Vice President. 

This is what he had to say about the G7 conference that just ended: “We’re in a position now where, if you think about it, he just came back from the G8. I’m going to say something that will not take as much time but it’s going to sound too self-serving. If I have any expertise, it’s American foreign policy. It’s what I’ve done my whole career. It’s what I’ve devoted my academic and my political experience to.”

Two things wrong with this delusion Joe:

• First of all, it is and has been the G7, not the G8, conference for a number of years. Make a mistake on that simple concept and it is hard to take anything else you then said seriously.
• As far as you being a foreign affairs expert, that is not the opinion of former Defense Secretary under Obama, Robert Gates, who believes that Biden was “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

My goodness, does this politician ever get anything correct?

2) Okay, let’s move on to other wacky things that other wacky American politicians have been saying. We used to do a regularly occurring theme dedicated to the stupid and plain wrong things that NewYork Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is constantly saying. But to be honest with you, there was so much nonsense coming from her that we gave up on that theme, it was just too much tripe to follow.

But let’s drop in on her and see what she is now babbling about recently. Keep in mind that she was a bartender before she got elected to Congress. She has a bachelor’s degree from college that has nothing to do with science, climate change, etc.

Her lack of experience, expertise, education, etc. in science did not stop her from warning us that if the glaciers should melt we would be exposed to diseases that are frozen inside these melted glaciers: “There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers that scientists fear that there is a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers. Things that were frozen for thousands of years, and that they’re going to get into our water, and that humans could contract them, and they’re going to be diseases that are thousands of years old that have vectors that we are not prepared for, that we have never seen. Um…and so that’s a concern…Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers, you have diseases that are spread by mosquitoes, and now mosquitoes are starting to fly further north that carry diseases like malaria, and a whole slew of other things.”

Oh my gosh, where to start with this nonsense:

• First of all what “scientists” and what diseases? If you are going to try and panic the public let’s start with some basic knowledge of what in the world you are talking about.
• Of all the global warming research and writing we have done, this is the first time I have ever heard of prehistoric diseases hiding in the glaciers, I do not believe even Al Gore has tied to sell this can of worms.
• By the way, some glaciers have been melting for decades with no ill effects on humans Congresswoman. Thus, where are these diseases hiding, even deeper inside the glaciers?
• Your second sentence runs on for 49 words, is it not possible for you, a college graduate, to be a little more coherent and elegant in your ideas?
• So first you tell us that there are bad diseases in the glaciers, “There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers” but two sentences later you tell us that “Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers.” So what is it, there are diseases in the glaciers as you say in your first sentence or there are not diseases in the glaciers as you suppose in your third sentence. Let’s make up your mind.
• You then switch to far flying super mosquitos in the same train of thought, so what is the point you are trying to make, disease riddled glaciers or the mosquitos, let’s stay focused Congresswoman.
• And finally, a “whole slew of other things” is not really scientific...or even worthy of a college graduate’s writing.

Now you see why we stopped following her antics and silly quotes, they are just so bad, so disjointed, and usually so wrong.

3) California Congresswoman Maxine Walters is a millionaire because she is a Washington politician. She has made her daughter very rich also by diverting campaign contributions to her daughter’s company. She represents one of the poorest Congressional districts in the country out in Los Angeles.

She recently had a photo op tour of the ghetto she represents to highlight a piece of legislation she is pushing, the “Ending Homelessness Act.” While there, Walters came across a constituent who was down on her luck by trying to make a living by selling books. Walters met the woman and decided to purchase a book to help out this homeless woman: “And she’s [the homeless woman] so creative. She set up a really nice environment here, but she’s got all these educational books. And guess what? I bought the … Langston Hughes book, $10."

Then Walters issued this ridiculous quote, “I need change.” The book was $10 and Walters only had a $20 bill. Rather than let the poor book seller keep the change, which would probably would be considered a windfall in her mind, millionaire Congresswoman Maxine Walters insisted on getting change. Pathetic.

4) Our last stupid politician quote today comes from Congresswoman, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell who issued the following insane observation: Illegal immigration is “really not affecting American people.” Really Debbie, let’s talk about some realities:

• The American taxpayer pays over $100 billion a year to handle the illegal immigration problem from, detention centers, to law enforcement, to housing, to food stamps, to crime, to funding pregnancies of illegal immigrants. That is $100 billion that could help out the millions of Americans that are homeless, hungry and drug addicted, $100 billion that could positively impact a lot of American people.
• Recent Department of Justice statistics showed that 64% of Federal criminal arrests are of non-citizens, most of which are likely illegal immigrants. I am sure that the rapes, murders, robberies and other crimes these 64% committed did affect a lot of American people.
• Federal arrests of non-citizens have jumped over 200% in just the past 20 years.
• The American person who was allegedly raped by four illegal immigrants, who were recently arrested in a Maryland County, was probably affected.
• Kate Steinle and her family were affected by an illegal immigrant who shot and killed her despite being arrested and deported multiple times.
• Dominic Moons and his family were affected by an illegal immigrant who killed him.
• Thousands and thousands of other American families who had loved ones killed, raped, and injured over the years by illegal immigrants were affected.

What a stupid and heartless statement to make Congresswoman.

Yes, it is not only Joe Biden who says the most stupid, inane, incorrect, and heartless things, it is an affliction that affects most American politicians.

May, 2016, Part 11, Political Class Insanity: More Obama Narcissism, More Failures In Syria and Iraq, FBI Playing Big Brother, and More

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc. In fact, last month we set a record, needing ten full posts to cover it all.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

This is our 11th post this month on America’s political class insanity. It sets a record for this blog on covering such disgusting behavior from our nation’s politicians. It is a sad commentary on the state of the country and those that are supposed to be leaders. Let’s get started with our final look at this month’s insanity:

1) One of our favorite sites for gathering political class insanity is the Against Crony Capitalism website. On April 21, 2016, they discussed a very depressing topic and fact, namely that the United States now ranks 41st in the world when it comes to freedom of the press. Yes, one of the strongest tenets for freedom as enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, freedom of the press, has now sunk so low that 40 other countries represent that freedom better than we do, namely: “Congress shall make no law...freedom of the press.”

Thus, despite Obama promising to operate the most transparent Presidency ever, his spying on journalists, his hacking of their computers, his blocking Freedom Of Information Act requests from the press and others, and his use of executive orders to withhold information has pushed our freedom of press rights down so far that we now trail countries such as Burkina Faso, whatever and wherever that place is.

According to NPR:

• The U.S. is ranked 41 out of 180 countries in Reporters Without Borders’ World Press Freedom Index, which measures the “level of freedom of information in 180 countries.”
• According to the organization, the U.S. moved from 49 in 2015 to 41 this year, though it warned that the “relative improvement by comparison hides overall negative trends.”
• Citing the U.S. government’s “war on whistleblowers who leak information about its surveillance activities, spying and foreign operations, especially those linked to counter-terrorism,” and the country’s lack of a “shield law” that would allow journalists to protect confidential sources, the report takes a decidedly negative view of U.S. press freedom.

So much for that Obama promise. His administration has failed to lift us back to the high ideal of freedom of the press and that improving from a dismal 49th to an almost as dismal 41st “hides overall negative trends.” 

2) So if the Obama administration is viewed as destroying part of the First Amendment as it refers to freedom of the press, it looks like the FBI out in California might be destroying the Fourth Amendment. According to the CBS affiliate in California, the FBI, without warrants, put hidden microphones in public areas and listened in on and recorded conversations that may have gone on in such public areas as bus stops. Let me say it again: without warrants, a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.

Jeff Harp, a CBS KPIX 5 security analyst and former FBI special agent said, “They put microphones under rocks, they put microphones in trees, they plant microphones in equipment. I mean, there’s microphones that are planted in places that people don’t think about, because that’s the intent!”

Additionally, according to the CBS reporting, agents hid microphones inside light fixtures and at a bus stop outside the Oakland Courthouse without a warrant to record conversations, between March 2010 and January 2011. The FBI says they are looking for evidence that real estate investors in some California counties are carrying out fraudulent real estate activities. Again, all of this without warrants.

Not unexpectedly, the lawyer of one of the investors is trying to get the recordings thrown out of any court proceedings on a Fourth Amendment basis: “Speaking in a public place does not mean that the individual has no reasonable expectation of privacy…private communication in a public place qualifies as a protected ‘oral communication’… and therefore may not be intercepted without judicial authorization.”

So we already knew that Obama hates the Second Amendment, Reporters Without Borders showed above he is not fond of the First Amendment and his FBI agents are abusing the Fourth Amendment in California. Insanity.

3) David Rutz, writing for the Washington Free Beacon on May 15t, 2016, reviewed the thoughts and words of former Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, on how he does not feel there is anyone left in the Obama administration that has the guts to question anything the President says. In other words, Obama has surrounded himself with "yes” men that dare not question their boss's thoughts and actions, a very dangerous situation to have when you are President of the United States.

I say dangerous because the Presidency touches and affects so many areas of life regarding just about every human being on the planet, that it is impossible for him or her to have in-depth knowledge of just a fraction of what is going on. That is why we have an executive branch and the President has Cabinet secretaries and staffs to provide him the insights and knowledge that he cannot possibly have. To ignore that input and information that others provide, is not a sign of leadership, it is a sign of ego and narcissism and it usually leads to disaster, kind of like the situation the country finds itself in today.

According to Gates in a recent TV interview: "I’m not sure how many people there are left in the administration at this point who are willing to have direct issues with him like that. I just don’t know.”

Recall that Gates is one of four Defense Secretaries Obama has had, with each lasting less than two years in that position on average. This would be one indication that anyone who disagrees with this President does not have a long term future in this administration. When one leader, whether in government or business, thinks he is the know all and be all of anything that goes on in his organization, that organization will operate sub-optimally since no person is an expert in everything...or even a few things. That is why there are subject matter experts. 

But as we all know, this President is smarter than all of us so how could anything he do possibly end up sub-optimally?

4) Staying with this theme of military and a President that acts on his own limited knowledge and experience, consider the following video clip where Congressman Seth Moulton takes apart the President’s lack of in depth understanding of the military reality Iraq and Syria. And how this President after seven and a half years in office still has no long term strategy for fixing the mess in those two countries. 

Congressman Moulton is a former U.S. Marine veteran who served multiple tours in Iraq. He is the type of person that Obama should be listening carefully to truly understand the reality over there. Instead, as the Congressman points out, this administration and President have no in-depth knowledge or strategy to fix what has been broken on his watch. All this being a symptom that Gates alluded to above, this President is too vain and ego driven to think anyone else is smarter than him.

5) One last piece of insanity today and it is a good piece of insanity, a former U.S. Marine really getting into it when addressing a letter to the First Lady and her husband. I will let it speak for itself:

Mrs. Obama

It sickens me that I have to take time to write you this letter. I am a Marine who doesn’t recognize color because every color has lived and died for you. You live in a free country to blame your poor pathetic life on the color of another man’s skin. All colors have given their lives for an educated woman to have the freedom to be so ignorant. I don’t blame black people for the ignorance that comes from your mouth. I love all colors because I love all that God creates. I don’t have to like you to love you and today is no different. I don’t like you or your husband because of your character hidden behind your skin. Isn’t it funny how the truth always reveals itself in time. You and your husband never showed this side of yourselves in 2008 before he was elected.

You both live better than 99% of the people in this world because of this country. You said that you are for the first time proud to be an American. Well, I will tell you that most of us are ashamed of you. You and your husband have become millionaires off the people of this country, but demonstrate very little appreciation for all that we give.White, black, brown or indifferent millions have fought and died for you to have the freedom to say the ignorant things you say. You are educated, but clearly have very little common sense. You blame past generations of Americans for the troubles of a few. Stop blaming white people for your misery and take a look at yourself in the mirror. We are all responsible for our own happiness and misery. The KKK is ignorance wrapped in a sheet while the Black panthers are raised on ignorance and hate.

No different from the cult of Islam thinking their race is better than all other men. God is love and creates every color to include our skin. To truly love God is to love all that He loves. For that I love each of you and pray that we all start taking responsibility for our own damned sins.

Martin Luther King had a dream that we would all live in the promise land. He is not remembered for being black. He is remembered for the love, and character he had within his heart. If you don’t like this country get on that plane and never come back. I will stay here and love all Americans, regardless of skin. I will love the beauty of what God created and stand tall with my American friends. Not because of their color but for the character and love they carry within. This country doesn’t owe you anymore than it owes me. So many have thanked me for my service and I will always be grateful. I pray that one day you and your husband might cause me to be grateful for yours. You will never be remembered as the First Lady of Color but soon forgotten after you leave the White House. You nor your husband shall ever divide us. I wish you no harm, but pray you will get the hell off of this American land…

Well said, a good way to end this month’s political class insanity, an honest and true American telling the head of the American political class to shut up and go away, something a lot of us would like to do if the opinion polls can be believed. This former Marine did it for us.

"Off With Their (Political) Heads!" Shouted The Queen Of Hearts

Any number of recent events have reinforced the notion that many in our political class really do not know what they are doing. The world has gotten so complex but their grasp of it's realities is so naive. Unfortunately, every time they screw up it usually costs us in wasted tax dollars, lost freedom, or in the Wikileaks scandal, potentially human lives. In an "Alice In Wonderland" world, we could follow the advice of the Queen of Hearts and chop off their political heads and move on, hopefully filling their position with someone more competent.

However, we do not live in Wonderland. But if we did, wouldn't it be great to chop off the political careers of the following politicians:

- According to Robert Scheer, writing in The Nation, and summarized in the December 20, 2010 issue of The Week magazine, of the $44.4 billion increase in U.S. corporate profits this past quarter, about $33.3 billion of those increased corporate profits went to Wall Street banks and investment houses. Many of these firms are the same ones that were at the center of the financial meltdown with their risky investments and some were saved with taxpayer bailout money. What's more irritating is that these same financial firms, flush with cash and profits, are not making very many loans to businesses and consumers, loans that might finally get the economy moving again.

Why are they not making any loans? According to John Cassidy, writing in The New Yorker, the banks can make more money "exploiting complex security trading, day-to-day movements in the markets and other financial schemes. They do not have to make traditional loans anymore in order to make oodles of money.

Who were the brilliant politicians who worked on the bailout process that saved many big financial firms, firms that were "to big to fail," wasted billions of taxpayers dollars, and apparently included nothing in the financial industry reform legislation to prevent the banks from getting bigger and less responsive to the market? Off with their heads!

-Continuing along in the same industry, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Ben Bernanke, has this wonderful plan to get the economy jump started. It is called quantitative easing but in layman's terms it means our central bank, the Fed, is going to create $600 billion out of thin air ("print money") and use it to buy back government bonds owned by the same financial firms discussed in the previous point. His hope is that the banks, flush with this new pile of money, will go out and start making loans, getting the economy growing again.


Hey Ben, I may not be an expert on quantitative easing but won't these banks and other financial institutions just take the money and use it the way they have been using their own profits and cash, i.e. play the market rather than grow the market? If they can make a lot of money playing with their tens of billions of dollars, imagine how much money they can make playing the market with the hundreds of billions of dollars you are going to give them, apparently with no stipulation that they loan it out. Off with his head!


- Recent results form an Associated Press/CNBC poll indicated that 59% of those surveyed prefer cutting Federal government budgets and services and about half that many (30%) preferred raising taxes. 85% of those surveyed are worried that our high national debt will be harmful to future generations.


Thus, average Americans understand what our problem is, high national debt is really a government spending problem, not a government revenue problem, and the current trend of deficit spending will be detrimental to future generations of Americans. How does our political class respond? They cannot come to a consensus on the President's Debt Reduction Commission, with only 11 of the 18 members approving the final recommendations of the Commission, three short of the 14 votes that were needed to get put before Congress. Off with their heads, especially the Commission's Democrats who voted against the plan, stating that there were not enough tax increases and there were too many spending cuts in the recommendations. Apparently they did not get the poll results.


- Let's talk about the Wikileaks fiasco. An ordinary U.S. Army private logs onto his government computer and with about $5.00 worth of hardware, a blank CD disc and a portable USB drive, downloads hundreds of thousands of documents that expose many valuable secrets of the U.S. military around the world. These documents identified local contacts in countries such as Afghanistan who were working closely with the U.S. military in fighting the Taliban. The documents placed them and our fighting troops in additional danger.


Apparently no computer security firewalls were breached. No complex, online security measures were hacked and undermined. Just a USB drive and a CD disc. How simple can it get? And to my knowledge no one has been fired for such lax security. Yes, the private has been arrested and is in custody, but someone, whether it is the Secretary of Defense or someone underneath him on the organization chart needs to fall on their sword for this one. We spend hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars a year for the defense Department and is it this simple to expose the entire U.S. military data systems to this soldier's downloads? Off with someone's head.


- Wikileaks, Part II. Let's move over to the State Department where the damage might be even more devastating. Previous State Department documents release by Wikileaks showed how the State Department worked and contained personal references and appraisals by U.S. diplomats of leaders from around the world, often in non-flattering terms. These disclosures have damaged our relationships with world leaders in ways that we have no idea how yet. Why would anyone in a foreign government tell our diplomats anything valuable or personal in the future since the State Department has proven via Wikileaks that we cannot keep a secret from the world?


But it gets worse and the potential damage far more lethal. In a December 6, 2010 Associate Press article, we find that Wikileaks has posted a secret U.S. cable on its website that lists entities worldwide that our government considers critical to our national security. The article quotes U.S. officials fearing that the publication of the cable gives a hit list to terrorists. The cable, "Critical Foreign Dependencies Initiative List," included such things as border crossings, hydroelectric dams, undersea communications lines, food suppliers, shipping lanes, manufacturers of components used in U.S. weapons systems, and vaccine sources.


Here's the sad part. Hillary Clinton deemed the list so important that if these sites were "destroyed, disrupted, or exploited, would likely have an immediate and deleterious effect on the United States." In other words. the Secretary of State knew how important and dangerous this list was and still Wikileaks was able to get their hands on it. What do these people use for computer security if they cannot even protect this most valuable piece of intelligence? Unbelievable.


And apparently Wikileaks is not done. The website apparently held back some disclosures as "insurance." This information was stored and downloaded by multiple people in an encrypted file that can be opened only if the Wikileads head guy, Julian Assange, gives out the password. He claims he kept the really good stuff in that file as insurance for himself. Who knows what other damaging information the State Department has let leak out and now an entire Federal government department is at the mercy of a single man.


As with the defense information leaks, someone, be it Hillary or someone high up at the State department needs to be fired. This breach of security is historic and could be fatal for a lot of people. In real life, outside of politics, people lose their job every day for incompetence. Same thing should apply to government work, especially a screw up this large. If Gates and/or Hillary got fired by Obama for this mess you can bet it would get the attention of a lot of other government bigwigs. I would bet these highly paid folks would  immediately would be taking a long hard look at beefing up their own data security procedures, a hard look that hopefully would be to the benefit of all Americans. Off with their heads!


Maybe the Queen of Hearts had it right, off with their heads. As an alternative to this rather drastic approach, Step 34 from "Love My Country, Loathe My government," would be a good start. Step 34 would remove any member of Congress sitting on a Congressional committee or subcommittee if the government functions those committees were overseeing fail at executing their responsibilities. Alternative methods of determining failure are outlined in the book under Step 34.


Thus, this step would remove those Congressional members from any committee responsible for Defense Department and State Department data security. These leaks will cost us in so many ways including additional tax dollars to repair the damage, lost credibility with world leaders, and potentially lost human lives due the the military and other intelligence that is now in the hands of our enemies. Not only should high ranking  members of these two Departments pay for the leaks but Congressional members also should absorb some kind of negative hit, short of, of course, "off with their heads."
