August, 2019, Part 3, Politicians Say The Darndest Things: More Joe Biden, More Ocasio-Cortex, More Stupidity and Idiocy

We have done previous posts under the theme of “politicians say the darndest things.” These posts highlight the idiocy and inane comments that American politicians actually say out loud, which makes us question how broken our political processes have become that people in powerful positions can be so inept and stupid.

Nancy Pelosi has usually been the star of these posts, having said some of the most out of touch and inane things that any politician has said. 

1) Okay, the last two posts in this theme were dedicated to stupid and delusional things that Joe Biden has said over time and recently. I thought we were done with his inane comments after those two posts but let me sneak in a late breaking misquote from him.

The G7 economic conference just ended over in France. It is a get together of the seven largest western economic powers and their leaders to discuss trade, economic policies, etc. It has been in the news for the past couple of weeks and it happens every year, even during the time Biden was Vice President. 

This is what he had to say about the G7 conference that just ended: “We’re in a position now where, if you think about it, he just came back from the G8. I’m going to say something that will not take as much time but it’s going to sound too self-serving. If I have any expertise, it’s American foreign policy. It’s what I’ve done my whole career. It’s what I’ve devoted my academic and my political experience to.”

Two things wrong with this delusion Joe:

• First of all, it is and has been the G7, not the G8, conference for a number of years. Make a mistake on that simple concept and it is hard to take anything else you then said seriously.
• As far as you being a foreign affairs expert, that is not the opinion of former Defense Secretary under Obama, Robert Gates, who believes that Biden was “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

My goodness, does this politician ever get anything correct?

2) Okay, let’s move on to other wacky things that other wacky American politicians have been saying. We used to do a regularly occurring theme dedicated to the stupid and plain wrong things that NewYork Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is constantly saying. But to be honest with you, there was so much nonsense coming from her that we gave up on that theme, it was just too much tripe to follow.

But let’s drop in on her and see what she is now babbling about recently. Keep in mind that she was a bartender before she got elected to Congress. She has a bachelor’s degree from college that has nothing to do with science, climate change, etc.

Her lack of experience, expertise, education, etc. in science did not stop her from warning us that if the glaciers should melt we would be exposed to diseases that are frozen inside these melted glaciers: “There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers that scientists fear that there is a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers. Things that were frozen for thousands of years, and that they’re going to get into our water, and that humans could contract them, and they’re going to be diseases that are thousands of years old that have vectors that we are not prepared for, that we have never seen. Um…and so that’s a concern…Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers, you have diseases that are spread by mosquitoes, and now mosquitoes are starting to fly further north that carry diseases like malaria, and a whole slew of other things.”

Oh my gosh, where to start with this nonsense:

• First of all what “scientists” and what diseases? If you are going to try and panic the public let’s start with some basic knowledge of what in the world you are talking about.
• Of all the global warming research and writing we have done, this is the first time I have ever heard of prehistoric diseases hiding in the glaciers, I do not believe even Al Gore has tied to sell this can of worms.
• By the way, some glaciers have been melting for decades with no ill effects on humans Congresswoman. Thus, where are these diseases hiding, even deeper inside the glaciers?
• Your second sentence runs on for 49 words, is it not possible for you, a college graduate, to be a little more coherent and elegant in your ideas?
• So first you tell us that there are bad diseases in the glaciers, “There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers” but two sentences later you tell us that “Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers.” So what is it, there are diseases in the glaciers as you say in your first sentence or there are not diseases in the glaciers as you suppose in your third sentence. Let’s make up your mind.
• You then switch to far flying super mosquitos in the same train of thought, so what is the point you are trying to make, disease riddled glaciers or the mosquitos, let’s stay focused Congresswoman.
• And finally, a “whole slew of other things” is not really scientific...or even worthy of a college graduate’s writing.

Now you see why we stopped following her antics and silly quotes, they are just so bad, so disjointed, and usually so wrong.

3) California Congresswoman Maxine Walters is a millionaire because she is a Washington politician. She has made her daughter very rich also by diverting campaign contributions to her daughter’s company. She represents one of the poorest Congressional districts in the country out in Los Angeles.

She recently had a photo op tour of the ghetto she represents to highlight a piece of legislation she is pushing, the “Ending Homelessness Act.” While there, Walters came across a constituent who was down on her luck by trying to make a living by selling books. Walters met the woman and decided to purchase a book to help out this homeless woman: “And she’s [the homeless woman] so creative. She set up a really nice environment here, but she’s got all these educational books. And guess what? I bought the … Langston Hughes book, $10."

Then Walters issued this ridiculous quote, “I need change.” The book was $10 and Walters only had a $20 bill. Rather than let the poor book seller keep the change, which would probably would be considered a windfall in her mind, millionaire Congresswoman Maxine Walters insisted on getting change. Pathetic.

4) Our last stupid politician quote today comes from Congresswoman, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell who issued the following insane observation: Illegal immigration is “really not affecting American people.” Really Debbie, let’s talk about some realities:

• The American taxpayer pays over $100 billion a year to handle the illegal immigration problem from, detention centers, to law enforcement, to housing, to food stamps, to crime, to funding pregnancies of illegal immigrants. That is $100 billion that could help out the millions of Americans that are homeless, hungry and drug addicted, $100 billion that could positively impact a lot of American people.
• Recent Department of Justice statistics showed that 64% of Federal criminal arrests are of non-citizens, most of which are likely illegal immigrants. I am sure that the rapes, murders, robberies and other crimes these 64% committed did affect a lot of American people.
• Federal arrests of non-citizens have jumped over 200% in just the past 20 years.
• The American person who was allegedly raped by four illegal immigrants, who were recently arrested in a Maryland County, was probably affected.
• Kate Steinle and her family were affected by an illegal immigrant who shot and killed her despite being arrested and deported multiple times.
• Dominic Moons and his family were affected by an illegal immigrant who killed him.
• Thousands and thousands of other American families who had loved ones killed, raped, and injured over the years by illegal immigrants were affected.

What a stupid and heartless statement to make Congresswoman.

Yes, it is not only Joe Biden who says the most stupid, inane, incorrect, and heartless things, it is an affliction that affects most American politicians.

April, 2019, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and a Believer In Science

On a periodic basis, we revisit a continuing theme in this blog, “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” Several years ago we started investigating the viability of this position for a number of reasons:

• It did not appear that global warming advocates were looking at all of the available global warming science, realities, and trends, just those select pieces of information that supported their position.
• There seemed to be a growing sense of doubt among scientists about whether or not global warming was actually a real thing.
• We were getting tired of Al Gore and others of his ilk who constantly were calling those that were undecided about global warming a whole litany of slurs including racists, homophobes, and other insulting terms.

After researching and writing about dozens of global warming information sources, we have proven over and over that it is perfectly logical to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science:

• Realities show that global warming actually stopped about 18 years ago, causing global warming advocates to rebrand their position as “climate change” since “global warming” was no longer an emerging reality.
• Turns out the major global warming forecast models all turned out to be grossly inaccurate in predicting future climate and warming trends, throwing into doubt whether any man made global warming or climate change was actually happening.
• Major and reputable scientists and science organizations (e.g. the renowned CERN Institute) were either originally determining that man made global warming and climate control never existed or changing their position to become doubters of what they may have original believed about global warming.
• Important and prominent scientists around the world were caught manipulating climate data to verify their false claims and forecast models or were outed for at least contemplating changing real world data to match their ill performing analyses and forecasting models.

Previous exposes’ of global warming and climate change theories by using real world numbers, scientific experiments, and the simple act of observing can be accessed in this blog by typing “I am a global warming doubter” in the search box above. At that point, you will be provided many previous posts from this blog including dozens and dozens of information sources that more and more point to a repudiation of Al Gore and others, man made global warming, and man made climate change.

The latest proof that you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in sciences is discussed below:

1) NBC News, hardly a traditional global warming critic, reported on a good reason why it is perfectly sane to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science:

• A recent NASA research effort has found that a huge Greenland glacier has started to expand again after years of melting.
• Back in 2012 it was found that the Jakobshavn glacier had been diminishing by 1.8 miles every year.
• An article in a recent issue of Nature Geoscience found that the glacier has now been expanding.
• According to climate scientist Jason Box: “That was kind of a surprise. We kind of got used to a runaway system. The good news is that it’s a reminder that it’s not necessarily going that fast. But it is going.”

So, a glacier is growing in size even though probably every global warming forecast kept saying all glaciers would get smaller and smaller over time. At no time do I believe a scientist said that glaciers will grow and shrink, grow and shrink. This implies that climate scientists who advocated for global warming really did not understand what was going on since they completely missed this growth in the Greenland glacier.

But these folks are not giving up their reputations without a fight. Co-author of the NASA study Josh Willis said this is "good news" only in the short term. Willis claims the oceans over the coming years will continue warming due to man-made climate change.

In other words trust us, we never expected this to happen today but we know what will happen decades from now. These are the same types of people who said in the 1970s that a new ICE Age was coming...but it did not happen. These types of people then said that global warming was going to melt the North Pole ice cap….but it did not happen. These types of people said that the glaciers would steadily decrease in size….but this one at least did not. 

And yet this global warming advocate expects us to believe that he got this one right, i.e. despite this contrary news, glaciers will continue to melt in the coming decades. Sorry, no disrespect, I have my doubts.

2) Global warming advocates always like to crow that carbon dioxide levels on Earth are at all time historic highs which means that mankind’s use of carbon based fuels HAS to have caused the higher levels of CO2. But was that an actually a truth? Maybe not:

• Warner Todd Huston writing for the Godfather Politics website on April 11, 2019, reported on a recent study that disputes the myth that CO2 levels have never been so high.
• A new study by the Potsdam Institute For Climate Impact Research concluded that Earth has seen comparably high levels of CO2 in the past history of the Earth.
• According to the website Think Progress: “Current CO2 levels of 410 parts per million (ppm) were last seen on Earth three million years ago, according to the most detailed reconstruction of the Earth’s climate by researchers at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and published in Science Advances.”
• But mankind was not around 3 million years ago to cause such high levels of CO2 which would seem to mean that higher levels of CO2 can occur naturally without mankind’s help.
• In both cases, life on Earth did not disappear, either 3 million years ago or today.
• All of which begs the question: how can we tell how much of the CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere today is natural and how much is manmade? This is an especially interesting question in that we now know, according to this study, that the Earth is capable of getting to current CO2 levels without mankind’s carbon usage.
• Or said another way, courtesy of Breitbart News: “Yes, you read that correctly, three million — million — years ago CO2 levels on Earth were the same as they are today, but there is one major difference between three million years ago and today…Three million years ago, we humans were not driving cars or eating the meat that requires cow farts; we weren’t barbecuing or refusing to recycle or building factories; there was no Industrial Age, no plastic, no air conditioning, no electricity, no lumber mills, no consumerism, no aerosols. In fact, three million years ago, there were probably no human beings on Earth, at least not human in the way we use that term today. And yet…CO2 levels were the same then as they are now Hmmm…?”The same study noted that three million years ago there were ice sheets covering 1/3 of the earth. But, guess what? Those ice sheets have been gone for millions of years and the earth was not destroyed when they disappeared. Plus, global temperatures were even higher millions of years ago than they are today. The study had more gems like that scattered throughout… but in the end, the report merely confirmed that the earth has seen wildly different weather patterns, eco-systems, and conditions and it’s still here. Sort of makes your global warming religionists look like doomsaying fools, doesn’t it?”

So glaciers were supposed to to continuously get smaller but at least a big one, in Greenland did not. Mankind was supposed to be the cause of high CO2 levels in the atmosphere but Mother Natural has previously done the same thing on her own without mankind’s carbon footprint.Two more reasons why it is perfectly sane to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science.

September, 2015, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science,Part 3: More Fallacies From Obama's Alaska and More

Every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:

• Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
• Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
• Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims.

1) First up today is the story of an EPA global warming expert and employee who managed to bilk the EPA management and American taxpayer out of loads of money while also serving as a global warming expert. A recent Fox News report found that the EPA’s highest paid employee and reputed top expert on climate change was recently sentenced to almost three years in prison.

Why did he go to Federal prison? Apparently he lied to his EPA managers for years by telling them he was a CIA spy working for the CIA and that was why he was not showing up at his EPA job. Besides going to prison he was ordered to pay back $1.3 million to the Federal government. Unbelievably, he pulled off this charade from 2000 until 2014.

He usually disappeared for months at a time on his bogus “spy assignments,” at one time not showing up at the EPA for 18 consecutive months even though the EPA was paying him the whole time. His lawyer said that the liar spent that time exercising and working on his house.

Usually, we would include this type of government disgrace in our monthly political class insanity series. But I include it here to point out how incompetent the EPA is today. Why should any of us trust anything the EPA says relative to the environment or global/warming/climate control when they allowed a renegade employee to run roughshod over them for upwards of fifteen years? With a cover story as phony as being a CIA in Pakistan? 

This guy was supposed to be one of the EPA’s climate change experts. Really? How deeply did they check out his credentials to be an expert since they obviously never thought to check out his CIA credentials by making a simple phone call over to Langley to see if he really was a spy. Insanity.

2) Katie Tubb, writing for the Heritage Foundation, recently discussed some of the holes in logic and strategy after Obama went on his global warming, climate change rampage through Alaska. Her points and realities include the following:

• Less than one third of the nations going to a late 2015 United Nations climate conference have submitted plans to cut carbon output, indicating that most of the world is a global warming doubter or just do not care.
• Obama’s Alaskan talking points were not in line with climate realities as pointed out by a real scientist, Judith Curry, a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and not in line with the bogus assertion that there is “climate consensus” since there is not any kind of consensus, regardless of what Obama and Al Gore types state.
• Despite the lack of consensus, Dr. Curry, and others with evidence countering the president’s narrative of an accelerating and catastrophic warming, are labeled by Obama as “critics,” “cynics,” “deniers,” and on “their own shrinking island,” certainly not a scientific or adult approach to getting real answers based on all of the real science.
• This name calling goes on even though the article points out, as we have sourced many times before, that “data of observed reality collected from the U.N.’s International Panel on Climate Change and the U.S. National Climate Data Center does not show increasing frequency of extreme weather across the globe, whether you look at hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, or floods.”
• The article also raises a great point that if Obama is so sure and so precise that mankind is killing the earth’s environment, what will his plans and strategies do to save the world? 
• He yells there is a problem but proposes no quantifiable plan or timeline of objectives to fix the problem that probably does not exist. 
• For example, after wasting tens of billions of dollars given to start up alternative energy companies, all of which failed, none of the Obama administration’s plans did anything to move the needle on U.S. alternative energy usage.

Thus, the President ignores a lot of realities and says we have to do something but does not say what that is, how much it will cost in money and lost economic growth, what the objectives are, when those objectives will be met, etc. In other words,he has no plan, no strategies, and no basis to wreck the economy, just empty rhetoric.

3) One last set of data and realities that show it is okay to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science. A report on the MRCTV website reported on the following realities of climate relative to the President's visit to Alaska:

• In a stroll down an Alaskan trail the President pointed out how an Alaskan glacier had receded from its glacier edge marker in 1951, inferring that the mankind was causing global warming and causing the glacier to recede: "This is as good a signpost of what we're dealing with on climate change as just about anything."
• But the Federal government has reported that this glacier has been receding for over two hundred years, long before global warming was even a theory. The article cites an Alaskan local newspaper article from the a 1910 issue of the Braidwood Dispatch and Mining Journal:

• The map below is from the United States Geological Survey, which shows where that Alaskan glacier is today vs. two hundreds years ago, indicating that it has been receding long before Obama's Alaskan trip: 

• The article also contains an updated chart we have used before that tracks the earth’s overall temperatures and has found that besides year to year random variation, there has been no sign of global warming for more than 18 years:

• Consider a passage from a July, 2015 article in the U.K. Telegraph that reviewed real data from the Arctic, "How Arctic ice has made fools of all those poor warmists:" In recent years there has been more polar ice in the world than at any time since satellite records began in 1979. In the very year they had forecast that the Arctic would be “ice free”, its thickness increased by a third. Polar bear numbers are rising, not falling. Temperatures in Greenland have shown no increase for decades.
• And finally, consider some more measurements and science from Nature Geoscience: “However, we observe 33% and 25% more ice in autumn 2013 and 2014, respectively, relative to the 2010–2012 seasonal mean, which offset earlier losses. This increase was caused by the retention of thick sea ice northwest of Greenland during 2013 which, in turn, was associated with a 5% drop in the number of days on which melting occurred—conditions more typical of the late 1990s. In contrast, springtime Arctic sea ice volume has remained stable." 

That will do it for this month’s update. Lessons to be learned are that there is no climate change consensus among scientists, always look behind what a politician tells you for the real data and the real realities since politicians do not look for truth, they look for spin, and the data does not support the hysteria that Al Gores always want to stir up, insulting doubters in the process. But name calling is not science and the science continues to prove that being a global warming doubter is a sane, rational decision.
