Let’s get started. With the midterm election season underway, Obama has decided that he needs to weigh in on the issues of the day. Never mind that for eight years he was useless, he somehow thinks that America needs his views and opinions.
One of the self centered remarks he has been constantly making while out in the country was that his administration had no scandals. But the All News 247 blog did a great job identifying well over a dozen major scandals that he somehow forgot about:
1 - Remember the Obama “Economic Stimulus Program?” He spent well over $800 billion and got nothing in return, a reality we have discussed many, many times in this blog. Money was spent to replace windows in an abandoned Federal government building out west that was never going to be used again. Over two thousand bridges were repaired with stimulus money but only about one thousand of them were indeed in need of repairs, the other thousands were in perfectly good shape.
These are just two of the most inane wastes of $800 billion. Obama’s infamous “shovel ready jobs” never materialized. In fact, very few, if any, full time jobs were created and the $800 billion led to the first ever set of annual Federal government annual deficits going over a whopping $1 TRILLION a year. So the national debt went up and the unemployment rate took forever to come down, a double whammy loser program.
2 - Operation Fast and Furious was a failed program that was fatal for untold dozens of people. It’s objective was always very fuzzy and stupid, somehow guns were going to be sent to Mexican drug cartels and they would be tracked so the drug cartels could get busted. Yes, it sounds just as stupid now as it did when it was underway.
The guns were eventually used to kill Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jamie Zapata, plus hundreds of Mexican citizens. No guns were ever recovered, no drug cartel people ever got arrested, and numerous laws and probably international treaties were broken in sending heavy duty guns into the Mexico across an international border.
Obama then stonewalled Congressional inquiries and investigations to see what was really going on and to see who was to blame for the deaths on both sides of the border. His Attorney General Eric Holder was actually held in contempt of Congress but unfortunately never faced justice for this scandal. This was the first time in the history of the country when a member of a President’s cabinet was held in contempt.
3 - Obama Care was a scandal along so many different dimensions. So many supporters lied about what was in it, especially Obama: if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, if you like your current policy you can you can keep your current policy, the law will not a dollar to the national debt, the law will “bend the cost curve,” etc.
According to Nancy Pelosi the legislation had to be passed so that we could see what was in it, the most inane and scandalous Congressional comment ever. The enrollment in Obama Care policies barely attained half of what was promised and it got that high only because it kicked so many people off of their current policy. Its horrendous and illegal computer system rollout put millions of people in danger of identity theft. And that computer system was a horrendous creation from day one with severe cost overruns and glitches along every step of the way.
Obama illegally delayed implementing parts of the legislation because those part were either so bad or he wanted to avoid negative publicity during an election season. It barely survived two Supreme Court challenges, something that very few laws are even subjected to.
It will likely go down as one of the worst pieces of legislation ever put out by Washington, a scandal in itself.
4 - The Obama administration spied and harassed any number of journalists including Sharyl Atkinsson and James Rosen for news reporting that the administration did not like. Even Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, eventually admitted he had some remorse about harassing Rosen even though he had signed off on the wiretapping of Rosen phones and then lied to Congress about that signoff.
5 - Obama crushed the First Amendment rights of millions of American when he politically weaponized the IRS in two ways. He used the audit function of the IRS to harass anyone who dared to criticize his policies with Ben Carson and Sarah Palin’s father being just two famous examples.
More egregiously he used the IRS to block the certification of non-liberal non-profit political groups from being certified as non-profit, severely limiting their political activity and possibly disrupting the 2012 election to his favor.
6 - Benghazi was a scandal along three dimensions. First, it was probably an illegal gun running operation of smuggling guns into various shady groups in the Middle East. Second, it was a scandal that Obama sent Americans into a known terroristic hot zone without adequate security on site or nearby to rescue them once the attack started.
And finally, Obama and his staff, Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, etc., lied to the country and to the world about what caused the attack while denying it had anything to do with terrorism. Admitting this was a terrorist attack just a few months before the 2012 election would have damaged Obama’s claims he was winning the war on terrorism. Thus, his lying administration tried to blame the attack on some inane YouTube video when he and his cronies knew the truth all along.
7 - Obama allowed his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to operate an illegal and unsecured computer server in her home. This was in violation of Federal government guidelines and laws on government computer operations. It also allowed her to secretly conduct government business on that computer in support of her and her husband’s international money laundering schemes. Eventually, foreign spy agencies were able to hack and access her server, causing unknown damage to this country’s security operations.
8 - Obama also allowed his staff, and himself, to use bogus email names and accounts in order to bypass Federal laws such as the Freedom of Information Act to hide government operations and political shenanigans.
9 - Remember that while Clinton was Secretary of State, billions of taxpayer dollars got lost and never recovered or even identified where that money went,
10 - Thanks to Eric Snowden we now know that Obama used the government’s security apparently, especially the NSA, to illegally spy on the electronic communications of just about every American. This spying was done with without due cause or warrants. Obama officials then lied about the spying even as it became known and it damaged the relations with several foreign countries and leaders who were also spied upon.
Unfortunately, there are still more scandals from the Obama era to discuss, something we do in our next political class insanity post. But hopefully it is now clear to the whole country, that the Obama Presidency was one of the most scandal ridden of all time, an amazing fact that Obama himself refused to acknowledge.
