As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:
- Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
- Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
- Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.
Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims. The following lists our latest findings on global warming and science that was started two days ago:
1) Dozens of times in this blog we have shown how it is sane, rational, science based, and logical to be a global warming doubter. We have had to endure slurs and yelling outbursts from people like Al Gore who have called global warming doubters racists, homophobes, terrorists, idiots, flat earth believers, and other equally degrading names despite the tonnage of science and realities that show man made global warming and climate change might be nothing more than a scam.
Well, a sitting U.S.Senator is taking the nonsense to a whole new despicable level. Writing in the Washington Post, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island wants to use RICO racketeering laws to prosecute those who are man made global warming and climate change doubters. Yes, rather than consider ALL of the climate science and realities, this Senator just wants to throw those with a different opinion than his in jail. He would do it using the same laws that were designed to prosecute organized crime law breakers.
How pathetic is this politician? Dare to have a mind and think for yourself and get thrown in jail. That is how far the political class in Washington has sunk into being a dictatorship. According to this Senator, those that are global warming doubters engage in activities that “span a wide range of activities, including political lobbying, contributions to political candidates, and a large number of communication and media efforts that aim at undermining climate science.” Political lobbying, contributions to political candidates, media efforts, etc., are often referred to as First Amendment rights…. except when those freedom of speech efforts are in conflict with what this Senator believes.
This is a very dangerous, slippery slope where politicians decide when freedom of speech is a Constitutional right and when it can be prosecuted under racketeering laws. This does not make the Senator a leader, it makes him pathetic.
2) One of the most disgusting aspects of the whole man made global warming question has been when scientists have been accused and/or were actually caught manipulating raw data to conform to their preconceived theories and beliefs. In the scientific method, the raw data should be used as guidance to discovering truth, it should not be manipulated to support an erroneous assumption about the truth.
Scientists from England to New Zealand have already been caught at least the possibility of changing raw, actual data to conform to their theories that would be proven wrong if the raw data was left unchanged. If their data shenanigans were proven to be true, those scientists should be disqualified from having input to the man made global warming discussion.
But it is not just scientists who are manipulating raw data. The Federal government is getting in on the act of trying to change history to be more consistent with preconceived climate theories. As we have discussed, graphed, and proven many times in this blog, raw temperature data has shown there has been no global warming in the past two decades or so, rendering just about any global warming advocate forecast models obsolete.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has been caught manipulating its own historical data in order to try and show that global warming did not stop over the past twenty years. According to reporting by the Daily Caller: “New climate data by NOAA scientists doubles the warming trend since the late 1990s by adjusting pre-hiatus temperatures downward and inflating temperatures in more recent years."
“Newly corrected and updated global surface temperature data from NOAA’s [National Centers for Environmental Information] do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus,’” wrote NOAA scientists when presenting newly adjusted climate data.
To increase the rate in warming, NOAA scientists put more weight on certain ocean buoy arrays, adjusted ship-based temperature readings upward, and slightly raised land-based temperatures as well. Scientists said adjusted ship-based temperature data “had the largest impact on trends for the 2000-2014 time period, accounting for 0.030°C of the 0.064°C trend difference.” They added that the “buoy offset correction contributed 0.014°C… to the difference, and the additional weight given to the buoys because of their greater accuracy contributed 0.012°C.”
If you cannot win the game just change the rules. If you cannot prove your hypothesis, just change the data. And now the Federal government is changing both the rules and the data to accommodate a political position rather than a scientific reality. 3) People like Al Gore like to scream that the “science is settled.” We have shown dozens of times and dozens of scientists in this series that show the science is not settled. In fact, one could make the case that there is as much, if not more, unsettled science than settled science that supports Al Gore’s position.
Dr. William Happer is such a scientist who disagrees that the science is settled. He is a Professor Emeritus at Princeton University, who has published significant research on atomic physics. In the following link he gives his views on why the science is not settled along with his learned view that carbon dioxide is not the ugly evil that some climate scientists make it out to be. He also touches on the reality that global warming stopped rising about 18 years ago, as the chart below shows:

So today we came across a U.S. Senator who wants to suspend the First Amendment and free speech if you dare to disagree with him on man made climate change, we have not only desperate scientists who change raw data to support their flawed theories we also now have the Federal government adjusting raw data to support a political position, and we have a view of a noted university scientist to prove again, the “science is settled” is an incorrect sound bite.
So today we came across a U.S. Senator who wants to suspend the First Amendment and free speech if you dare to disagree with him on man made climate change, we have not only desperate scientists who change raw data to support their flawed theories we also now have the Federal government adjusting raw data to support a political position, and we have a view of a noted university scientist to prove again, the “science is settled” is an incorrect sound bite.
The last set of global warming news will be reviewed tomorrow but rest assured we have found nothing that would undermine our science-based position to be a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.
