November, 2015, Part 2, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science: Putin Says Take a Hike, NOAA Says Take A Hike and More

Every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.”This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:
  • Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
  • Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
  • Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.
To see the past posts and the multitude of evidence that we have compiled that showed it is perfectly okay to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, enter the phrase "global warming doubter” in the search box above or go through the monthly historical post listed on the right side of this page.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims:

1) Yesterday we mentioned that there is a big global warming conference, sponsored by the United Nations, in Paris next month. It is supposed to galvanize the world’s leaders and countries to get behind a huge, likely bureaucratic, and likely failed worldwide effort to fight global warming, which may or may not exist.

But getting a lot of leaders to support such an effort is not going to be easy. Specifically, Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin are likely to ignore any effort that may or may not come out of Paris since according to the New York Times, Putin and Russia have “offered only vague and modest pledges of emissions cuts ahead of December’s U.N. climate summit in Paris.” Additionally, Stanislav Belkovsky, a critic of Putin, said that Putin believes that “there is no global warming, that this is a fraud to restrain the industrial development of several countries, including Russia.”

I am not saying that Putin is an expert on climate. But if Russia, and other countries with the need to drastically increase their energy resources, e.g. India and China, have the same attitude as Putin, nothing global warming advocates want is going to happen.

2) Sam Rolley, writing for the Personal Liberty website on October 28, 2015, reviewed how the Obama administration is going non-transparent again. The Obama administration’s top climate research agency is refusing to give detailed information to Congress about climate research that the agency claims backs up the theory that global warming comes from humans burning fossil fuels.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is refusing to release research information for a controversial study that claimed there was no 15-year pause in global warming trends, as some researchers have suggested. Specifically, Congressman Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House Science Committee, has requested the study details along with copies of communications among NOAA scientists: “It was inconvenient for this administration that climate data has clearly showed no warming for the past two decades. The American people have every right to be suspicious when NOAA alters data to get the politically correct results they want and then refuses to reveal how those decisions were made.”

NOAA spokeswoman Ciaran Clayton said that NOAA gave Smith some of the information he requested but is not releasing the rest to protect NOAA confidentiality and the integrity of its scientific process: “We have provided data, all of which is publicly available online, supporting scientific research, and multiple in-person briefings. We stand behind our scientists who conduct their work in an objective manner. It is the end product of exchanges between scientists — the detailed publication of scientific work and the data that underpins the authors’ findings — that are key to understanding the conclusions reached.”

In other words, the Obama administration is saying “trust us” on this one even though they have lied about just about any other thing that the Obama administration has touched, from Obama Care lies to Fast and Furious lies to IRS lies to Guantanamo lies to foreign policy lies to Benghazi lies. Congressman Smith is having nothing of it, stating that: “The agency has yet to identify any legal basis for withholding these documents.” Another government transparency failure from the President who claimed he would operate the most transparent administration ever.

3) A Washington Examiner article on October 29, 2015 by John Siciliano examined a research study which concluded that the Obama plan for climate actions will cost a lot and have little impact on the climate.

The analysis by the American Action Forum claims that the Obama climate plan’s restrictions put on American energy usage and electricity generation will cost Americans $45 billion a year. This will be in addition to the annual $30 billion cost from the EPA’s plan to cut greenhouse emissions that have already been published.

This $75 billion price tag, if accurate, will cost every American family about $650 a year, money that cannot be used to grow the economy or create jobs. And what do Americans get for their $650 a year? Obama’s own EPA estimates that the regulations will keep the Earth’s temperature from rising between .0574 to .125 degrees Celsius over the next ten years. Thus, every American family will pay $6,500 over the next ten years to MAYBE reduce the temperature of the Earth by less than two tenths of a degree. Insanity.

4) And to close this month’s discussion of being a global warming doubter and a believer in science, let’s go overseas to France. Often when global warming advocates cannot argue maturely about global warming, they throw a hissy fit and start calling doubters names and slurs and often, finding ways to silence them.

Such is the recent case in France. Phillippe Verdier, who was the weather chief at France Televisions, the country’s government broadcaster. He was kicked off the air after he published his book, “Climat Investigation.” As expected, he lost his job for claiming that scientists, climatologists, and politicians have “taken the world hostage” with misleading science and data.

Specifically his book claims that, “'We are hostage to a planetary scandal over climate change – a war machine whose aim is to keep us in fear.” And for having an opinion, he loses his job. Typical thuggery from a movement that sees its underpinnings falling apart and cannot face the reality that its views, and funding, may go away as reality sets in.

So, today we learned that if you live in France, and likely elsewhere, there are powers that will get your fired from your job if you dare to disagree with the global warming advocates. If you are President Obama, you will implement expensive energy regulations even if it will cost Americans thousands of dollars for miniscule environmental benefits. If you are the NOAA,you seem to think that you are not accountable to Congress or the American public. And finally, we learned that Putin, and likely other world leaders, will tell Obama to take a hike in Paris next month at the climate conference.

Four good reasons to continue to be a global warming doubter and a believer in science. More next month.
